Bob has maintained our HVAC systems since 1996,shortly after we purchased this house. He diligently maintained our old dinosaur of a system until it started having more and more problems and parts became unavailable. Once the warranty ran out on the replacement system, he took over maintenance of it. Bob has always responded quickly to our call, is very professional and a joy to work with.

All went well.

It was hard to pin down a time for the service call:  I telephoned in the morning and was told that the service provider would call before he came.

He just services, he doesn't install. He's an honest man. We've used him for years. I had asked him when we'd started having problems years ago if he would tell us honestly when it would be time replace it and he did his magic, put a band aid on her and she held out until we could save enough money and get enough estimates. He said it wouldn't be much longer the last time he was here and so we went ahead and had one installed. He will service this one too because I won't use the company that installed it. I was very put out by them. He was very reasonably priced. We had him come out in the spring and in the fall just to clean. The price was a hundred dollars or less depending on what he had to do. If he had to give us more free on, of course it was more expensive because it was a very old unit in this house. It was a father son thing and he even did service for my mother till she passed. I will keep using him as our service. He would be here as early as 7:00 o'clock. I would recommend Bob any time.

Bob came in and serviced the air conditioning unit due to moving into our townhome last November, 2013 and was not sure when the unit had been serviced and checked.  He cleaned the unit and checked the freon which was found to be low.  There was a faulty wire that was corrected and repaired.  He was prompt and friendly and answered all the questions I had asked.  Explained if there was any more problems to please let him know.

On the second service they once again respond quickly, called ahead and showed up on time. He arrived about 5 minutes early and called me extremely irritated that no one was there to let him in. Well....he was early. Scheduled for 8 AM and calls me at 7:57.  The person that met him arrived at 7:59. On time.

He looked at the unit. He called me and said he could spend a lot of time looking for the Freon leak and not be successful or he could inject a "stop leak" in the unit and that would cost $125.  I asked if there was any reason not to do that.  He stated no. So I said go ahead.  I asked again about replacement and that is when I was told I don't replace units, I just fix them.

I was not happy that I was now placing another bandaid on the system so I called to get a quote on a new system.  That is when I found out the unit was 15 years old and also not suited for the house.  The other unpleasant surprise was the bill that I found for his service.  The bill was not for $125 or $125 plus labor.  The bill was $295.  Guess Bob forgot to mention the stop leak at $125 did not include $90 in Freon......So now I have spent $600 in repairs and lost more time at work.  If I had been given good info on the first visit I would have arranged to get a new system.  I would have saved $300.  I also may have had time to negotiate a better price on my new system.  My new system was installed 3 days after Bobs repairs at a cost of $5000.

We had no heat on one of the coldest nights of the year. 
I checked Angie's list for a recommended A/C repair service.  J&L was listed at the top of the list with a straight "A" rating. 
I  called them the next day and they came to  my home within an hour.  Bob checked out our heating unit and quickly found a bad switch and replaced it with a new one from his truck.  Very prompt, courteous, professional, and efficient service.  Heat was back on within  30 minutes of their arrival.  Great job!
Will definitely recommend this company and will definitely use them again when the need arises.
Will also have them do annual preventative maintenance on my A/C unit.
Cost was way less than I had expected.  Very reasonable.

J and L is usually here the same day I call. He checks and cleans the outside unit and makes sure it is safe and functional for the season.

The we're great .! I called them do to recommendations on the reviews on Angie's List. Bob Carson was there the very next morning as he said he would be. Found the problems with both heat pumps and repaired. Very efficient, price was very fair and reasonable. Pleasant to deal with. Will recommend to all my friends and will now use them for my yearly maintenance service on both units. Thanks for a great job.

Bob Carson and his father before him have been servicing my HVAC units for over 25 years. His only business is service and he is very good, honest and reasonably priced. There are no service contracts. He has kept one of the original units in my house maintained for 25 years.

I would estimate I have used Bob between 25 to 30 times. He is always on time. He is a type-A who never slows down, I have to move fast to keep up with him. On the down side, he wants to be paid when the job is completed. He does not bill. I dread the day he retires - in perfect world, I will retire before Bob because I fear I will not be able to replace him.
