Roofing
I called Hughes Roofing Nov 6th, 2012 and had an estimate done. Super nice guy at this point and gave me a good price. I told him I had to get my finances straight and I would let him know in 2 days if I would be using him or not. I got a call from him that evening asking me that if I made a commitment then He would "throw in" the ridge vent. Trying to save a few hundred dollars, I said ok. Even though I felt pressured I still said ok. Nov 8th, my finances were straight and I paid through pay pal (in full) with a credit card and was told Hughes roofing would start at the beginning of week. Well beginning of week came 11/12/12, and he called and said there was a delay that it would be the end of the week.. oh and then11/15/12 it would be next week but it was thanksgiving week so it wouldnt be likely... so then 11/20/12 it would be next week... and then 11/26/12 it was another week and that was the time I said if it was not started by wednesday, week then I would be taking my business elsewhere.
And that is when everything went down hill.... HE turned into a different person and then wanted all this proof that I was truely the cardholder and a signed paper saying that no matter what I would not cancel and that I would accept any extra charges that were applied to card upon completion of my roof WITHOUT any questions to what charges were. I was trying to hurry him along because I wanted to decorate my house and yard for christmas. He stated in one of his emails: "You are slimy! Merry Christmas! You gave it away when you said you were planning to "decorate the house", that's really what a recent divorcee single working mother of an infant does... Yeahhhhh Rrrrright......" He went to point of belittleing me and holding against me that I am single mom and I ended up disputing the claim with my credit card company because of how he was acting.
When I sent him email stating that I wanted to cancel my work order, I went to only communicating with him through email and he just tore me apart about that and stated I was a scam artist and forwarded me several emails that he had recieved asking me if I knew them because they were trying to scam him as well. Finally Dec 14th, after trying my best to be proffesional about the matter and not stooping down to his level, he finally emailed me and said he would see me in court. And thankfully I did pay with a credit card and was able to dispute the claim bc if I would have paid him by cash or check... there is no telling how long it would have taken me to have my roof done and if it was done correctly or even a good job done.
I really hope no one else ever has to deal with the nightmare I just went through.

Roofing
The Mexican crew did a very good job but the Comany Owner trying to gouge customers once the job has begun with repairs not needed makes the entire process tainted.
