RIchard Heaton is an excellent and very knowledgeable craftsman. Wait time for repairs is long due to his unique expertise and market demand, but it is well worth it.

I called Mr. Heaton and after several attempts finally got in touch with him! He was very kind and direct and agreed to fix it for me, but because he was so busy, it would be at least 12 wks before he could even look at it, but i agreed to that and took it to him right away because he had to put the clock "in line" for repair. Also because of the ratings he had already gotten from others, I figured it was worth the wait to get it done! He quoted me the expected cost up front for what he thought should be done! Sure enough, after 12 weeks, he called me to let me know that he had been working on it and he had finished all that he could do! Unfortunately, because of some previous damage, the calendar part was beyond repair and after trying for two weeks, he was unable to correct the problem, much to his dismay, and he did not charge me the full amount he had quoted! However, he has promised to keep his eye out for the parts that are needed from other sources and will let me know if he is able to find them! He was very honest with me and I appreciate his efforts. I feel VERY comfortable with his ability and expertise! My clock appears to be in great working order and I am thrilled to have it back home with me! Thank you, Mr. Heaton!!!

I wasn't charged for those that needed no actual work and he just "tweaked" them. Mr. Heaton guarantees his work and is very responsive. High quality work! I'll be using him again.

No complaints, only praise. And I have to add an experience with Mr. Heaton's service that occured today - February 15, 2013. My regulator clock mysteriously struck the hour at the wrong times - like 12 o'clock struck 6 times and 6 o'clock struck 12, and in between the hours struck a dfference of six hours to each clock hour. (Confusing isn't it?) I called Mr. Heaton and expected to be told to bring in the clock. NO SUCH THING! Mr. Heaton gave me some instructions over the phone and lo and behold I was able to regulate the clock to the normal strikes myself. I am bursting with pride! And my recommendations for Mr. Heaton's service have just tripled! Wonderful company to do business with!

Found Richard through Angie's List and no time was wasted getting both clocks to him. I was given detailed instructions how to get to his business and he made notes of what needed to be done, the cost and what I expected. The delay was due to a complicated piece for the regulator. And, as I was out of state for one week, we agreed for a pick up on August 27th which was then done, no waiting, no complicatons. I am totally satified and would not hesitate recommending Richard, nor having any other clock repaired by him.
I don't quite understand the necessity of information pertaining to the address and complete information. For MY address - ?
What difference does it make when my home was built - 1970 if it is of so much importance in the matter of a clock repair
.My address is available immediately above the questions.. As for Richard's home where I dropped off the two clocks - I have no idea when that home was built and don't care. I dot not quite understand that part of the survey. Will gladly oblige if I receive a more thorough description. At the age of 81 I think I am entitled to speak my mind - please oblige. Thank you!

Came promptly and clear about his pricing, but the repair work was extensive in both clocks (multiple bushings @ $35. a pop) and cost a whole lot more than I expected! It also took forever. He said 6 to 8 weeks and it was more like almost 4 months. But he does give a 2 year warranty. And now he has 2 more of my clocks. There just aren't many clock repair people out there, so you take what you must to have them working properly.

I took in two clocks and he took them apart while I was standing there. He told me that they weren’t worth fixing and, in a backwards way, that is a really good thing. He didn’t charge me anything for taking them apart and looking at them which was outstanding. I was late and he called my house to make sure I was coming.
