Estate Jewelry Ctr

I am a female individual and after the way I was treated above, I felt as though the store owner was "condescending" in manner. Recently, I ended up going to another local Jewelry store and had all my updated jewelry appraisals done, and was very happy and satisfied with the results.

They were very approachable and they were knowledgeable. They spent time with me in picking out the setting for me. They listened to me in what I wanted in terms of repair. It is not a large shop but they have a good selection of older jewelry and newer items also. They were very friendly. I called them several times with questions and they would call me back with in an hour. They said that they would have everything done within 2 weeks and they did.

That day was a day of errands, so I was dressed casually, in a pair of nice shorts, sandals and a blouse. (It was HOT outside.) There were 2 customers in the shop when I arrived. Both were dressed to the nines! It was obvious they were 'regulars' as first names were being used, and due to the small size of the shop I knew they were spending a lot of money.  Not only was I "not" greeted upon entering - I was virtually ignored until I was the only customer left in the room. The two people who were there ahead of me each had a representative working with them, so I was surprised when the first customer left - that the sales rep assisting him just disappeared into the back somewhere. The remaining customer was being helped by a gentleman whom I assumed was the owner. (He's the one I see on their commercials.) When HIS client left, he also retreated to the back. Some man I had yet to see then appeared to assist me. I was extremely uncomfortable with the lack of attention, to say the least.
The gentleman who finally helped me was very nice and cordial - and I left the ring for appraisal.
When I returned to pick the ring & appraisal up, my experience was totally different. This time, my T-Bird convertible was parked in full view from inside the shop - I was dressed much less casually - and my ring was appraised for $5,000. I had 2 individuals willing to spend all the time in the world that day. 
I'm sure their work and products are exceptionally good. However, I experienced a customer service problem that I will not overlook. If this business makes a practice of bias, based on assumed income level or how a person may look -  and I'm sure that's what I experienced - then I will not frequent that business again.
