Tuesday, January 13, 2009 I contacted 2-10 warranty because of a leaking hot water tank. They in turn referred me to Bradford Plumbing. A few hours later Will and Larry showed up at the house to a**** the problem. They determined that the hot water tank had in fact rusted out and would need to be replaced. I explained to Will and Larry that it took a very long time to get water in the master bedroom, which is located at the farthest point from the hot water heater. They stated that a tankless system with a recirculating pump would take care of the problem and that a system like this would not only save us money in the long run, but give almost instant hot water at the faucets. I told them that this sounds wonderful and what we would like. They disconnected the leaking hot water tank and left for the day. I think it would have been better to leave the hot water tank hooked up over night rather than leave us with no hot water. Wednesday, January 14, 2009 Around noon time Will and Larry showed back up with the new tankless system a Rheem model 66DVN and started to install the unit. They did not have any insulated wire with them and asked if they could use a extension cord of mine. I found them a 110v extension cord, they cut the ends off to be able and hook up the temperature control. Approximately around 5pm they had the unit installed but could not get it to work. They stayed till about 7pm trying to get the hot water heater to work but were unable. They left for the night a we were left without hot for another night Thursday, January 15, 2009 Thursday morning the owner J.W. Bradford came out to a**** the problem and after a short period of time he discovered that the vent was the problem. An after market vent was trying to be used instead of the proper vent. Will and Larry showed up later to install the proper vent. Once this was done the water heater was working. I started to test this water heater to see how much better it was than the old unit and found that it was worse. The amount of time to get hot water in the master bath was about the same time, but the hot water in the kitchen and bath closet to the hot water heater actually took quite a bit longer to heat up than with the old unit. I called J.W. Bradford and explained the situation and told him that the circulating pump was not working. He stated that he did not understand why and was going to make some calls to find out the answer. Friday, January 16, 2009 After several calls and each time promised by the owner JW Bradford he would be right out. I have yet to hear from him.
