Mr Benson was great to work with. He was very detailed in his inspection and his report. He went over all the details with me so I had no unanswered questions.

We had hired Mr. Benson not long ago for a pre-sale inspection of my husband's father's house which allowed us to correct any problems before listing it for sale.  His work was so outstanding that when we made an offer for this townhouse, he was the only one we even seriously considered.  This place is really about 2 1/2 stories because it has a crawl space.  Mr. Benson covered everything from the attic to the crawl space.  Because he was so thorough, we have been able to get the problems fixed before closing by the homeowner. Even though the place is in excellent condition, many little things just need doing in an older home and Mr. Benson seems to have caught them all, things we wouldn't have thought of even to check.  He checked the attic and the fire wall.  He found that not all of the windows closed all of the way or wouldn't open.  He noticed that some of the doors didn't close the way they should.  He was crawling from one end of the crawl space to the other and found that some bracing was needed under the front door, some corrections needed to be made with the plenum under the furnace, and that the vapor barrier had been bunched up and needed to be spread out.  He checked out the roofing shingles (from the ground) and pointed out where some were out of place, soffits that needed some work, etc. (all homeowners' association responsibilities).  He checked the detached carport and shed.  He pointed out that the ivy growing around the patio was invasive and that we needed to make sure it wasn't growing up the downspouts (It was!).  Because of his thoroughness (and a very nice homeowner), we will not have to deal with these things when we start moving in and have the confidence of knowing that nothing major is wrong.  When you spend money to buy a place, it is a good feeling to know that. 

After the homeowner fixed the things we asked to have fixed, Mr. Benson came back and re-inspected the ENTIRE house again.  Even though it was hotter than the dickens, he was back up in the attic and crawling around under the house.

We can recommend, without reservations, hiring Mr. Benson for a house inspection.  After moving into this townhouse, we will definitely be calling him to do a pre-sale inspection of the house we are moving out of to make sure there are no surprises.

Oh, his price was VERY reasonable for such a high quality inspection. 

My husband says you are an idiot if you do not hire Mr. Benson.

I needed someone that was not biased to just check some areas that I needed to have work on, not the entire home. He pointed out certain things that needed to be done. When I had him come back out after the work was done, he pointed out they were done improperly. I am having to rehire a different company to do this work. I am grateful for Bill.

When I showed up 10 minutes early, he was already there. There was a chance of rain that day so he was worried he wouldn't be able to go underneath the house. He stayed for 2 1/2 hours. It took him one day to put a very detailed 30 page report along with pictures.

Bill did an excellent job. He is very detail oriented and did a great job reviewing all aspects of the house and documenting them in his report. As a result we were able to get everything that needed to be attended to fixed or repaired prior to closing. I would night recommend Bill Benson for house inspection services. He is as good as we have worked with and in our 10+ purchases.

Mr Benson did a through inspection of the house. Including pictures and a 35 page report. He also gave some helpful suggestions on how old appliances and roof were and when they would needed to be replaced  I was extremely impressed how knogable and professional he is.

I hired Mr. Benson to inspect my new construction home after seeing all his great reviews on Angie's List.  I arrived 20 minutes early for our appointment and saw Mr. Benson already there speaking with some of the construction crew and/or maintenance people working on my house!  I was very pleasantly surprised at how thorough and knowledgeable he was about everything.  I had a list of questions to ask him and he answered every one and never seemed annoyed that I was asking so many... In fact, he seemed to like to "educate" me!  He pointed every item out to me as we toured the house, that I should mention to the builders to fix and I was able to do that during my walk through with the builder.  Mr. Benson even supplied a detailed report with pictures I was able to forward to the builder as well. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Mr. Benson and am very thankful to everyone who submitted reviews on Angie's List for him!

I feel Mr. Benson did an excellent job inspecting my home.  He took pictures of the crawl space beneath my house and email them to me.  I was able to view the pictures and have the damages without me having to crawl under the house.
 He did an excellent job.  I would high recommend him to those who would like a thorough home inspection without breaking the bank.

Mr. Benson was very professional, I arrived at the house 30 minutes prior to the appointment time and seen Mr. Benson already there taking pictures of the house. He was very thorough with his inspection and checked every inch of the house and was not afraid to get dirty. Mr. Benson was very knowledgeable and informed me of anything that may need to be done right away or in the future. It's a good thing I hired him because he found some termite damage under the home on a main support beam underneath the house that could have left me with major damage in the future. He takes a lot of pictures and gives a very descriptive report of anything he finds. To add, he does not cut any corners in which I was very happy with his service and would definately use him again.  I am sure you find that his service is money well spent.

Mr. Benson arrived right on time. He is in Augusta, GA and I am in Aiken, SC.First, he started his inspection with the outside of the house. He found problems with the airconditiong unit (leaking freon). After finishing the outside inspection, he did the inside. There were a few problems inside, as well, and they were all meticulously detailed in the report. Mr. Benson is a very kind person. He is a very good person. You will not be sorry if you hire him.
 I wanted an inspector who had no ties to real estate agents in Aiken. An aquaintance here bought a house which had been inspected by an inspector, who did most of his work, for the real estate agency used by the seller. She had to move out due to mold problems. She now lives in a rental house and is in the middle of a lawsuit. It is a sad situation. I did not want the same thing to happen to me. That is why I hired Mr. Benson.
