Atlas Painting Company

TERRIBLE: Adam Wearling was supposed to start the painting on Monday, July 5. He told us he could not start until Tuesday, July 6. Arrived at approximately 9:00am, and started to paint. Left the job at 2:00pm. Returned on Wednesday and had to leave to take his family member to the doctor at approximately 12:00pm and would be right back. Never returned that day. Came back on Thursday and again worked 1/2 day and left. Prior to starting the project, Adam was told the Fridays were out, due to other commitments. When he left Thursday, he said he would be back on Monday, July12. Received a call Monday morning telling us that Adam had tested positive for Covid-19 and would be out for 14 days. I asked if he had been vaccinated and was told no. Adam had been in the house that prior week without a mask, exposing us to possible Covid-19! The contract stated that the work to be done was that **Painting entire interior of the residence, includes baseboards (excludes cabinets)**. **Repairing of all interior paintable surfaces**. **Caulking, Dry Wall and Repair materials would be furnished at no additional cost**. No repairs were done. Contract was for $1800.00 labor, plus an additional $506.00 for paint. Final labor invoice was submitted for $2059.64 with no explanation of an additional $2000.00 increase. Paint specified in the contract was Sherwin Williams Flex Series Satin paint. The paint delivered was Valspar 2000 High Hide White EGGSHELL and Valspar 2000 High Hide White FLAT. All walls were painted with the incorrect paint! A payment of $506.66 for Sherwin Williams Super Paint Series 1 - Satin was made. Sherwin Williams paint was not supplied. Due to his Covid-19 diagnosis, Adam was told to not return, with 2 bedrooms remaining to be painted. I am disputing the final labor charge of $$2,059.64. UPDATE: Filed a claim against Atlas Painting Company in Small Claims Court. Numerous attempts to contact Adam Wearling by the court at the address listed on the internet (2092 Heckle St, Augusta, GA 30904) proved to be fruitless. There is no one there at the address! His website sends you to a Facebook page that is restricted.

Atlas Painting is such an amazing company to work with and I couldn’t say enough positive things about them. I had ruined a wall in my house and Atlas Painting was able to fix it and in such a timely manner. They were so efficient, personable, and knowledgeable. If I ever need anything painted in the future I will definitely use them and recommend them to anyone.
