I moved to Atlanta from NYC 10 months ago and was looking for good place to get my shoes shined.  I'd heard about Trio and it was in my neighborhood so I gave them a try.  Twenty bucks for a shine that would have cost me $5 in NY and my shoes looked no better than when I brought them in.  They claim to do an "old fashioned" shoe shine, but they have no idea what that means.  It means sitting in a chair and having someone buff your shoes until you can see your face in them.  That's an "old fashioned" shoe shine!  The other work done was OK but not worth the money.

I picked up the shoes without checking the work. I returned them the following week and told them I was unhappy with the results. Half of the one half inch of braiding appeared to have been cut off and the other one-fourth of an inch hadn't been glued down at all. At first, he insisted he had re-glued another part of the shoe. But, I pointed out the braid had only been off in one place. Then, he disappeared with the shoe for 5 seconds and returned with the braid glued. He told me he was done with them. The other pair he told me he had personally applied four coats of black something. I pointed out that there were several white spots left and you could tell they had been repaired. He told me he had personally applied the four coats of black and he wasn't doing any more.

The only down side was the repair cost half as much as the shoes when purchased new.

They did a good job with fixing the boots. The repairs took about a week, though overall I thought their pricing was high. I have found other shoe repair places that offer the same level of service for less.
