Purchasing gas logs is a process involving detailed measurements to determine if a shield is needed between the logs and the mantel and to make sure appropriate size logs are purchased. Folks at Hearth & Patio are experts. In my house, a new gas line had to be run due to the age of the old line, which had been unused for many years. Logs operate on a remote control and batteries, so they are not dependent on electricity, and they are ventless logs for greater heat. I think it is wise when purchasing logs for the first time to go to a place like Hearth & Patio that can advise you rather than trying to by logs in a box at the big retailers. I couldn't be happier with my logs and am glad I didn't try to save a few bucks and do it without advice.
The front end of the process was slow due to winter weather, rainy conditions, but in the spring the process began. I did have to inquire initially about when the process would begin. I was then contacted by Hearth and Patio and a preview date was setup. The installation contractor did the preview and assisted me with the selection of the best radiant heat fireplace insert. The owner of Hearth and Patio shipped me samples of the stone options and a booklet of mantles, so that I wouldn't have to travel from Fayetteville to Tucker. That was very considerate of him. We communicated by email and phone to make some of the remaining
decisions about stone type, mantle height, specific fireplace options, etc. The construction phase went well and the installer was very
considerate with the date selection for installation, he considered my schedule as well. I am very pleased with the finished product and the installer indicated I could call anytime with any questions or concerns. Very good experience overall, once the whole process
got started.
