Southern Comfort movers were not able to finish our move on the original scheduled date which was a Wednesday. We were assured that they have a full afternoon free on the following Friday to come finish the move and we made an appointment for them to come finish the move Friday at 2:00 PM. We agreed on the hourly fee on that Friday. I noted some damage upon the furniture of the couches and dinning table and was assured that once we file a claim they will send someone to fix the damage very quick. The moving crew was over EIGHT hours late on Friday. They were scheduled to arrive at 2PM and instead arrived at 10:30 PM. Evan, who was the main mover informed me that they took a last minute job that morning that took them hours and hours and made them late for following appointments. They loaded our furniture to their van that night with the promise of delivering the furniture the next morning by 9:00AM. I had to work the next morning but Evan assured me they can get the furniture to me on time. The next morning they did not arrive until 11:30AM to deliver the furniture. I was willing to overlook all the delays, bad communications and bad business practice of taking new jobs when already booked, since I was relieved to have all my furniture at this point. I paid the movers for the second day?s fees and they left.
After the deliveries I filed a claim report and sent it to the email given to me and received a response that they got my claim. However, since that date for 2 months I have made calls, let unanswered voicemails, emails, and empty promises to give me a call back (when I actually got a hold of someone). No one contacted me and my damaged furniture was never attended to. I filed my claim within all the correct parameters set by the moving company and had paid them in full but they never got back to me.
"Southern Comfort Moving company provided an in home free move estimate on both August 20, 2014 and March 16, 2015. The Tipton's stated that they were getting estimates from several other moving companies and that they would follow up if they wanted to choose our company. The customer never called back to contract our moving services. Our processes are as follows: We require a deposit and we issue the customer a computer generated invoice number, and we ask the customer to call or email us as soon as possible to book their job. We followed up with this customer over several months and they still stated they hadn't made a decision. Moving can be a stressful time and we like to take the stress out of the customers life by providing two (2) customer service calls, one (1) from the office confirming the move- during the week of the move, and one (1) on the day of the move from the supervisor on the truck assigned to the move. This keeps our customer's abreast of their move, team, date and time. This is a mistaken identity -We would have loved to provided the move for them."
Southern Comfort Moving was excellent, I met with Evan at out storage unit to survey what had to be moved and where and gave us a flat rate which was perfect for our budget, since this was our 2nd move in 2 months. They were very professional and did all that I requested of them. The move went very smooth, it took basically most of the day about 8-9 hours the 5 movers never seemed to tire out, they kept going and never showed any frustration the crew leaders were awesome, I will definitely recommend and use again.
