The process started with meeting the builder/owner who did the initial inspection of the home and of the work that would be needed. Then a meeting with the builder's in-house designer, Amanda, met with us to discuss our needs and wants. She was terrific. While we really wanted an island in the kitchen, she explained that the space wouldn't allow for it but that we could have long counters with a peninsula that would serve the same purpose. She gently brought us along to this new vision of the kitchen in a polite and respectful way. We liked her various ideas and felt very comfortable running design ideas by her. We valued her opinion because she had a good one.
After meeting with the designer, the sub-contractors came by to scope out the work so that a final estimate could be prepared. We did have to choose some things such as tile ahead of time so that the estimate was accurate through the entire job. And, it was. They did not go over budget and finished within a reasonable time.
The builder assigned a project manager to our project. Rick, the project manager, was very calm, polite and professional. He was also very responsive even after hours if something arose that was an issue. We appreciated that Rick came by the house frequently to see what was going on and what needed to be done. This meant that things were completed in a timely manner. When the project concluded, Rick made sure the punch list was completed quickly. We didn't have to ask when things were going to be done because they worked quickly and produced quality work. We have a small dog and the project manager made sure that the outside yard gates were always closed so our dog would not run away. This was a major plus in our eyes.
Only once did we have to speak with the builder about an issue and he was also very responsive and showed concern. He also resolved the issue.
The builder, Danny, was awesome. The budget was higher than I wanted to spend on the remodel but it did include extensive electrical updating because our house is so old. In addition, we removed a wall and installed granite countertops, a pella side door, real hardwood flooring, and custom cabinets. This builder prefers to use a custom cabinet maker because off-the-shelf cabinets are not of high quality and do not necessarily fit where needed. This made sense to us.
We would use this builder again because: 1. The project finished within budget. 2. The project finished within a reasonable time. 3. The builder was responsive to our requests. 4. The project turned out fabulously. 5. The owner, designer and project manager kept up-to-date on all aspects of the project.
We have a bathroom we want to have them complete next.

Work day started and ended on schedule. the work site was cleaned up daily. Workmen were polite, industrious and professional. The management visited the site almost daily and were very helpful in giving me advice that i asked for regarding maintenance and alterations to the work order. Communication with management and work crew was easy.
