Robert examined the two knife cases carefully, explained to me the era they would have been used and what I could expect to get for them. I emailed photos of the items to Robert for his initial impression before I took them there. After we talked I decided to take them to him for an specific appraisal. He wrote up a professional description that I was able to use for the eBay listing.

Excellent. Robert was very thorough and professional in what we needed to do. He offered several very adaptable solutions to having our antiques appraised. We have not engaged with him yet as we are currently looking to auction the antiques without an appraisal.

We have used Mr. Morring's expertise in the past, and once again called on him to appraise the furniture and art for insurance and estate purposes.
We had purchased an antique piece of furniture item 20 years ago, but felt that a reassessment of the value was in order. In addition to advice to insure the furniture for a far higher amount, we were quite pleased that Mr. Morring was able to shed new information about the rare 18th century item.
With regards to the art, Mr. Morring gave us solid information about the value of a water color by an artist whose works have rarely appeared for sale, and last work for sale was handled by Christie's Auction. We had purchased the framed water color for just $70, so it was a nice surprise. An oil painting that we thought was only and quot;attributedand quot; to an accomplished 19th century artist, was confirmed when he located the obscure signature and established its value. Finally, a piece that we thought might be exceptional, was not.
We have a lot of confidence in Robert Morring's expertise and reputation not only based on our own experience, but because he appraises an enormous variety of items for estates, individuals, law firms, universities, banks, cultural art societies, etc. His expertise includes, but is not limited to: photograph collections, historic documents, sports memorabilia, coins, antiques, rugs, art, and more.

I spoke to Robert first over the phone. We arranged a time to meet. My husband and I gathered all information regarding the piece we need appraised and took it to Robert. He spent quality time talking to us about the piece and what we needed out of the appraisal. Within 10 days, we had a final copy for our records, mailed to our home.

Mr. Morring was fantastic. He has a lot of experience and apparently has traveled quite a lot. To begin with, he gave us, in writing, his professional resume, which is quite impressive. He examined all the pieces in detail and not only gave us a value for each item, but also discussed possible ways and places to sell them, if we wanted to. We spent approximately 2.5 hours with him, but he only charged us for 2 hours, even though his work is not yet over. He will do more research on the items and send us a complete appraisal report. He even made recommendations as to where we could get the violin restored. I felt very comfortable with Mr. Morring's evaluation of all the items we brought him and I would definitively use him again, if the need arose.

My experience with him was fine. He took the time to come out see what I had. He is a very nice person to do work with.
