Nostalgic Media LLC

I actually did a bit of research before I chose who I should send my audio and video recordings to. Based on their website and their reviews, I chose Nostalgic Media. I have 4 records (78's circa 1961) and 5 VHS tapes (circa '95). They are recordings of my mom who was a mildly successful jazz singer. I thought these items were lost as they were in a storage unit in New Orleans, where we're from, when Katrina hit. In a strange and lovely chain of events, I got them back recently. They are, of course, not in the best of shape but, do have salvageable data. I spoke with Steve on the phone even and conveyed that they were old and damaged. He assured me they would do as good a job as possible. I got everything back yesterday and I am shocked. They didn't even bother cleaning the records before transfer. Nor did they bother to separate the cuts. Each album side was a recording. Obviously, the sound quality was tended to and every scratch and hiss to be found was found on my recordings. The VHS tapes were no better. The sound was stretched in spots. Not a surprise but, they did nothing to try and improve it. And, all of the DVDs were returned with recordings of the entire VHS, in other words, all the blank tape at beginning and end. The work was sloppy and lazy and the results worthless. It was not cheap either. I emailed Steve my disappointment and have gotten NO response. Obviously I also got not offer at a refund; partial or full, which is what I'm due. Being a small business owner, I write reviews regularly because I know how much they can help your business grow. In all my years this is only the second bad review I've ever given. I hope it helps you choose. If you have a very simple job, I'm sure they can handle it. But as they do not actually attempt to restore old recordings I find Nostalgic Media to be a very misleading name.

Miracle workers!  One of our family's heirlooms is a reel of WWII gun camera film that belonged to our cousin (He died in the war).  I brought it in and when we began unreeling it the first several feet were heat damaged and unusable.  Keith could have left it at that, but he offered to try and find some usable footage.  His willingness to go the extra mile made a huge difference: about 75% of the film was good enough and we now have a record that will last generations.
I could not be more satisfied and will be using Nostalgic for something less taxing: converting my family VHS tapes to DVD!

They explained what they would do. They finished job within days they promised with good quality.

I was searching online for a company to scan my photos. As anyone would be, I was anxious about mailing my precious memories to someone hoping I got them back. I then found Nostalgic Media, local in ATL. I drove to their location and dropped off my photos on a Monday and they anticipated they would be back to me by the end of the week. On Friday, I did receive a package in the mail with all of my photos and two DVDs with my photos scanned as JPEG files. I was pleased with the turnaround time of my photo scanning. Upon inspection of the scanned photos, they were all done very well. I chose the basic scanning service at 12 cents a photo so I was concerned that the quality wasn't going to be great, but it was. They only required a deposit when I dropped off my photos and they collected the remaining balance over the phone prior to shipping my photos back to me. All in all, I was very pleased with their service and would use them again.

Great service. I was running late on my way to drop off the tapes and Keith stayed 15-30 minutes past their closing time on Saturday to accommodate me. He was very reassuring that they would handle my tapes with care and promised the job would be done before the end of the week. I got a call the following Thursday morning that my project was finished as promised.
I have yet to review all of the DVD's and mp4 files but from the initial viewing they did a great job of copying the videos and I am now able to enjoy memories long forgotten.
