The estimator came quickly and gave us a quote. We were scheduled for the next week and the crew showed up at 8 AM on the day scheduled. The problem was there was no easy access to the backyard where the trees were which made the job harder. They put down plywood to protect the grass and were able to get a small bobcat in. They worked quickly, completed everything we wanted done, cleaned up well, and managed to keep their equipment out of the way as much as possible to keep traffic moving on our street. Very courteous and professional from the estimator to the crew leader to each of the crew. The backyard looks great. Everything was so easy on us. Job well done and money well spent!

In our area, we need a city permit to remove any trees. Some tree services kind of circumvent that, but Northside Tree Professionals Inc. did not do that. They told me they had to get a permit, and I liked that. They did it all. I didn't have to do anything. They showed up when they said they would and did it for less than anybody else.

Unfortunately, between the initial inspection and the agreed upon time to cut the tree down, "mother nature" intervened and brought the tree down directly across my driveway 2 days early. Since I couldn't get out of my garage, I called NTP and Mark said he would divert a crew just finishing a job and send them directly to my house. True to his word, a crew (i.e., more like an army with 5 trucks and two "Bobcats"!) showed up at the time he said they would and commenced to remove the main tree that fell, and 2 other trees that the main tree had also brought down. This crew was incredibly efficient and well-trained, with almost a choreographed operation! Once they had removed all the trees, they then proceeded to rake the entire front yard of all leaves and debris from the fallen trees. I was absolutely amazed at the efficiency and effectiveness with which they preformed their tasked. They certainly rate the title "Professional" in their name! I called into their office, after everyone was finished with the work, and talked to Mark about charging my debit card for payment. When I mentioned "Angie's List" as the place I found them, Mark proceeded to take an additional discount off of the already reduced price (because the tree had already fallen)! I cannot say enough about how professional NTP was, and I will certainly use them again exclusively should I have any more tree problems! They have my highest recommendation!! John Sanders

They came out the day I called them to give me a quote. Work was performed just a few days later. Mark was very quick to get me copies of all their insurance policies and help me get a city permit. One large, dying tree was very close to my house and my neighbors. They climbed the trees and brought it down gently bit by bit. No damage was done to any shrubbery, lawn or property. They were finished after 2 hours. The areas were cleaned so you could barely tell anything had been disturbed. The stump was ground later that day. The price was half of another quote. By far the best professionals I've used on any type job!

I can't say enough good things about this company and it was an absolutely pleasure working with them from the very beginning through the completion of the job. True professionals. 1) Initial Quote/Meeting I was impressed from my initial meeting as Mark, the owner, made himself available on very short notice to spend the time personally to look at what I potentially wanted to do as well as give advice on the trees as well as the city requirements for removal and trimming. He was extremely well educated and we not pushing sales at all, in fact, at points he gave me guidance not to cut down certain tree limbs as they were not hazardous and I would essentially be wasting my money. Not only did he give me good guidance on which tree branches I should/shouldn't take down but that but he also volunteered to assist me by removing piles of branch trimmings I had already taken down (I had used a pole saw to cut down a number of branches). 2) Insurance This is an absolute MUST for anyone you decide to go with. Mark made it clear that not only do you need hazard insurance but also workers comp in case one of the guys gets hurt. Mark cares about his guys as well as the job and the house and ensures everyone is safe and working to not damage anything. He made sure that the insurance came FROM the insurance company directly before we started the job. 3) Quote/Agreement Mark was very fast in providing a very competitive quote and also marked the trees on the property with a small mark which became extremely handy for both me to refer back to as well as for guidance when his team arrived to do the work 4) Work The scheduling of the work was straight forward and Mark was flexible with what he could accommodate based on my schedule. For reference one of the trees was more than 3 stories tall and overhanging my house so this was a very challenging job. The guys doing the work were absolute professionals, respectful, pleasant, and were amazing to watch do their work. The team of guys moved each piece of the tree down without getting anywhere close to damaging even a shingle on my roof and I had absolutely no concerns or hesitation when I saw how good they were at what they did. They were very polite and ensured that as we were trimming trees, they were reviewing the work with me to ensure that the trees remained healthy while accomplishing what I wanted. From a speed perspective they were very fast taking down a number of trees and trimming in only a couple hours even with the challenge of removing the tree overhanging my roof. 5) Cleanup The team cleaned up the property so well that it was cleaner than when they arrived, no damage what so ever and they also asked me to confirm everything was the way I wanted it.

I could not be more impressed. I contacted seven (7) different tree removal companies and got five (5) actual bids. These very large pine trees were in the front yard and we wanted assurances that our nice front lawn, landscaping and our fence would not be damaged. Two of the companies we contacted, including Northside Tree Professionals, recommended bringing in a large crane to minimize impact and protect our property. We selected Northside for their competitive price, but equally important were the positive reviews on this site and the assurances by Mark, the CEO of the company, that we would be satisfied with the work - and they really delivered. Northside Tree Professionals showed up on time with a highly skilled and very efficient crew. The crane operator had to work around our fence and some nearby power lines, but did so with no problems - his skills were very impressive. They had to remove two sections of my fence for the crane outriggers, but they went and purchased the lumber and replaced these fence rails the same day. The crew removed the trees in a few short hours, the stump grinder showed up about an hour after the trees were removed, and their clean up of the debris was truly amazing. By the end of the day the trees were gone, stumps ground, fence rails replaced and my property was clean and tidy. Thanks, guys, for a terrific job - you exceeded our expectations.

These guys are the real deal !! Fast service and priced very well compared to the other top rated Angie's List service. I would highly recommend this crew again.

They did all of the quoted work in an efficient and agreed upon manner. There were two issues though. The first was that they had to reschedule due to maintenance issues with a crane, not a big deal. The second was that they cut down the tree by mistake that my wife wanted to keep. After they cut it down, and mark found out about it, he called me immediately, explained what happened, and said that he would make it right. This is my biggest thing, mistakes happen, it is a matter of owning them, and making them right. By making it right, it wasn't a financial boon for us, but a proportional and immediate resolution. I would, and have recommended them to friends and neighbors.

I called them after I saw them advertised on Angies List. Got two quotes and they were exactly the same $450. I went with Mark/Elmer because of the 5% discount, and they seem to know what they were doing. I scheduled on a Friday, they came on a Monday. Very friendly, came exactly when they said they would. I consulted with them on which branches to cut down, and went inside. 30 min later I came out and they asked me about specific branches etc, and were happy to do anything I asked. Cleaned up very well. No bait and switch or upsell. I would definitely recommend them.

Northside Tree Professionals did a great job! Their estimate was the most reasonable of all the different estimates we had received and their scheduling was also more flexible compared to other providers who we contacted. They were able to come on the day that we had requested, even though it was just a couple of weeks away, and they completed the job very quickly. They arrived even earlier than we had expected (around 7:30 am, were scheduled for 8 am), so just make sure to let them know if you have neighbors that may get upset if they start making noise too early. They were very efficient and did a fantastic job. We would definitely recommend them to anyone else and will use them again if we need more trees cut down in the future!

Went very well. We had a slight adjustment in the work to be done from what was quoted but the crew who came to do the work was fair and flexible. They did everything exactly as promised. One pine tree was VERY dead and deteriorated. One was large and healthy but leaning dangerously after the ice this past winter. One sweet gum was half dead, one was showing trunk rot, and one had been struck by lightening. Five weed trees were removed from across the back of the lot to give room to specimen trees. Everything was done exactly as expected. Only mishap was they backed a big truck with the chipper too far into back of the lot where the ground is soft and moist and it got stuck. The yard got torn up pretty badly but not inordinately considering the amount of work and the type of machinery that they had to use. Besides, the back lawn is pretty much a weed lawn so it was no great loss and it'll grow back quickly. Prices were very close in the competitive range. They took the time to speak with me, answer questions, and advised on how to prepare. Mr. Heiser was clear and thorough in his communications so that I was able to manage my expectations. They agreed to cut a large limb from one of my elderly neighbor's trees that had been bothering him. They did so at what I considered to be a very fair price and they removed some logs from his backyard that were not part of the deal. They billed him separately. He was very happy with their work also. The only surprise was that there were no surprises. It all went exactly as described, planned, and expected. This is a rarity in these days of slap-dash work and hasty profiteering. I would use these folks again. Some thoughts for folks who are having tree work done: 1. Make sure the provider is well insured; 2. Try to get the work done off season if you can. It helps tree service level their business activity; it enables them to give you better prices; and they are able to take their time to do your job right; 3. My experience is that every time I've had tree work done they've done good work at fair prices; however, whenever I call them back to quote on future work, for some reason their prices jump dramatically. Not sure what this is about. Point being, always get multiple quotes and discuss the work in detail to make sure you're comparing apples to apples. Overall, a very good experience. I would recommend these folks and I hope to be able to do business with them again.

These guys are truly professionals. From my first phone call to the end of the job was incredible customer service. My lawn was protected from equipment and cleaned up very well before they left. The price for this large job was very reasonable. My neighbors have already asked me for their contact info. Excellent job done and will definitely be using them again in the future.

Communication and responsiveness were great. Quality of work was excellent. It was obvious that the crews knew what they were doing. Worked efficiently to do the job quickly. Ground stumps same day. I highly recommend this company.

Northside Tree removed a 30" Poplar that was pushing against the house foundation. The tree was next to the deck with several large, thick branches extending over the roof. The location of the property makes it difficult to bring in heavy equipment to take down trees and carry out the wood. I've used other tree services in the past, but due to the tree's proximity to the house, I felt I needed a service that was more careful in its approach. Mark provided me with an on-site estimate. It was very competitive and the scope of work was clearly laid out. Mark was thorough and professional and had a detailed solution for addressing the challenges associated with the tree's removal and disposal. A large crew arrived early and completed the project faster than estimated. There was no damage to the house, the deck or other trees and the area was completely cleaned prior to departure. I won't be searching Angie's in the future for tree removal services. I'll be using Northside Tree.

I have been using this company for years. They are professional, responsive, and reliable.

Getting trees taken down and inspected is typically a process, I dont love as I am never sure of cost or outcome. However, Mark and the team at Northside Tree provided by far the best experience I could hope for. I thought I was going to have to have 2 very large old pines taken down. But Mark advised and educated me on the health of these trees and that they dont need to come down. This was a relief to me! Really good overall experience and the team did the job, cleaned up the area well and were out in no time. I have since referred them to my neighbors who want similar work done. Northside was the second company called about this work. The other company was honest about the fact that because of all the rain we had received, they were very busy and it would be a couple weeks before they would be able to come out to price the job. After about a month I realized they weren't going to call me back. Under the same conditions - surely they were busy as well - a salesman came right away and we scheduled the work right away. I thought the price was very fair for the work to be done. The crew was large enough (about 6 or 7 counting the foreman) to make quick work of everything that needed to be done. We couldn't schedule the stump grinder right away because I had trouble getting the several utilities to come out and mark their underground lines. Possibly as much as 4 to 6 weeks passed before we were ready to grind the stumps, but when I called to schedule, they came right out and did a quick and good job as well. I intend to use this company for the general upkeep and care of the remaining trees around my house.

They arrived on time. Did the job, and were gone in two hours. That included the great clean up job.

The crew arrived at 7am on the scheduled morning ready to work. All the crew were very polite and got the job done. They took extra care in lowering all the cut limbs down with a rope to avoid damaging the lawn. They cleaned up after the job. I am very pleased and I would definitely use them again. I referred 2 of my neighbors to Mark at Northside Tree as well. He worked with us on pricing, and the crew ended up completing all the work on their trees as well as mine the same day.

Mark came out and provided quote. Straight forward, easy to work with and talked me through all aspects of the work. I was in no rush so I said it would be ok to get put on the schedule when they were in the area. Mark called me in advance and the crew arrived on time. Will, the crew manager was professional, addressed all my issues completely and was very conscientious. The arborist was a no nonsense kind of guy that was brilliantly skilled at his work. They worked to protect my landscaping and even explanted and replanted a bush that would have been damaged.

On 10-29-2013 they removed some damaged trees that were down in my yard. They also cut down and removed several dead trees and raised canopy in several yard locations. This original contract was performed 0n 10 -29-2013. After this original contract was completed I had another tree fall on my fence several days later and I called Northside tree on 11-4-2013 to let them know what had happened. THEY CAME OUT THAT DAY AND REMOVED THE TREE AND FIXED THE FENCE WHERE DOG COULD NOT GET OUT FOR $550.00I THIS IS WHAT I CALL QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I RECOMMEND NORTHSIDE TREE PROFESSIONALS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Showed up exactly at specified time. Did all work required, and always do a good cleanup. May be a little more expensive than others, but I think it is worth it. I have used them several times over the years, and they always do a good job.

I used them seven years ago to remove several trees. They did a very good job then. This time I got three estimates. Northside Tree Professionals had the lowest estimate. The arrived on time on the day of service. The crew members were nice and polite. They worked carefully making sure to create as little mess as possible. The cleaned up the areas before they left. One of the stones in the patio was knocked out of place during their work. They came back a week later and fixed it. I am very satisfied with their service. Next time I will not get other estimates and just call Northside Tree Professionals for the job.

My condo association used Northside Tree Professionals to remove a large, dead pine tree. We had gotten quotes from five vendors and the quote from Northside Tree Professionals was the second-lowest quote we received. (The lowest was from a one-man company and his insurance was expired, so we went with Northside.) The crew was friendly and professional and they did a great job safely removing a large tree from a challenging location. There was one issue that resulted from a miscommunication between a resident and the crew. When I called to discuss that issue, Northside was extremely polite and understanding. We came to an agreement to resolve the issue that exceeded our expectations. We plan to use them in the future because of our positive experience.
