I have been using Northside Tree Professional since I moved to Atlanta 28 years ago. I have used them numerous times and each time they arrive on the day promised and clearly communicate the work they are going to perform. The tree they removed on this date was in my front yard and it was surrounded by a number of mature bushes. They took their time when removing so nothing was damaged. Great group to work with. Always fair and professional !

They were prompt, efficient, reasonably priced, and did a great job! They went way beyond great customer service. I was so impressed with the whole crew. I'm 100% satisfied with their work!

The job went as planned for the most part and when there was an issue, Mark and his team made sure it was handled correctly. Doug the gentleman who performed the estimate was right on time and we walked my property discussing what needed to be done. He gave me an estimate before he departed and I compared it to the other estimates I had already received. Northside's price was right in line with the other companies and their positive reviews on Angie's List made it an easy choice. I made the appointment with Mark and the tree crew showed exactly when he indicated. The tree crew performed an awesome job in taking down the trees, but more importantly the cleanup was great. You could barely tell that three trees had just been taken down. Kudos to all of the guys on the tree team. The next part of the job is where in my book, Northside earned the A-rating. There were some issues with the stump grinding portion of the job. Perhaps the guys were a in a hurry or they just didn't think the job through, but I was not pleased with the work that was performed. I called Mark to let him know of the issues, he agreed to send someone out the next day to take a look and provide a recommendation. This all occurred according to plan and the issues were addressed by Mark and his team with little debate or discussion. Mark agreed the job was not up to par and that he would take care of it, which he did. To me this is where companies earn their stripes. Everyone makes mistakes, but how those mistakes are handled is what really counts. Mark and his team handled everything great. Biggest thing for me was that he answered the phone when I called!!! I would definitely hire Northside again, because I already know that if something was to go wrong, they stand behind their work and will make it right.

I could not be happier with Northside Tree Professionals. Initially I thought the price was steep just to remove one tree, but after getting quotes from other tree service providers, Northside was the best price. The workers completed the work in half the time quoted to me by other tree companies (four hours vs. two). There was a small issue with the stump grinding, as they contract with a third party to complete the service, and due to the recent rain, there was some delay in getting the stumps taken care of... but when the stump grinder did arrive, he was able to take care of a couple of other older stumps for me which was very much appreciated.

I called and asked for someone to come out to my home to give me an estimate for the work I needed done. I was told the day, time and name of the individual who would come out to see me. The next day Douglas arrived at the exact time I was told. We walked around my yard and he used a laser pointer to go up the trees and spot the limbs so we each knew we were on the same page. Douglas gave me a written proposal for the work and said if I would like to use them to call back at my convenience. I did call back the next day and we scheduled the work to be done on 4/1/15. I was given a small time window for when the workers would arrive and that I would receive a call when they were on their way. I did get the phone call and the workers arrived and I went outside to meet with the crew chief. I was adamant that I did not want my trees harmed by spiking. He assured me that would not be a problem and that was the case. The man who did the pruning used ropes and a harness to navigate up my trees. He pruned the limbs and workers on the ground promptly gathered up the limbs, took them to their truck and ran them through a grinder. At the end of their work they raked up a small amount of debris in the street and power blew small amounts of wood into my natural areas. I enjoyed my dealings with Northside because everyone with whom I dealt was polite and professional. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs tree service.

They were very prompt in coming out to look at the job and was able to perform everything within 24 hours. The service was great!

Northside responded very promptly to my request for an estimate - they were on-site within 2 business days and gave a very competitive quote. One of the two trees I wanted to have removed was up on top of a berm/hill behind my house and it was not accessible with machinery, so other estimators seemed more than a bit concerned with the difficulty of debris removal. Northside's estimator, Douglas, didn't bat an eyelash - he just checked a box marked "difficult carry-out" on his estimate and gave me two prices: one if I left the tree trunk on the ground atop the hill and another if they removed all the pieces manually. His confidence that the job could be done in full, leaving no attractive nuisance behind for neighbor children, was a major factor in our decision to give the job to Northside. I called several days later to schedule the work and had to wait only 6 business days for the crew to arrive. They gave a courtesy call ahead of time, arrived within the expected window (we were the crew's second job of the day), and worked diligently yet carefully every second they were here. Our property was undamaged and they left a VERY clean job site, considering the innate messiness of what they were doing. When I paid, the crew chief (Wil) told me that he'd been in contact with the stump grinder and I should expect them around 3:30 (approximately an hour after the crew finished the removals.) At 3:30 on the dot, the stump grinder appeared and completed the work, as promised.

My experience with Northside Tree Professionals was first rate in every regard. I telephoned for a free estimate by leaving a voice mail. The call was returned within an hour by Mark, who dispatched an estimator, Doug, that showed up at my house the very same day. Doug was timely, courteous and professional. He answered all questions and concerns and provided a detailed written estimate. Northside's price was competitive with estimates obtained from other tree services. I called them back to schedule a day for the work, and once again Mark was prompt to respond. They worked with MY schedule rather than forcing me into some inconvenient day and time. The work crew showed up right on time. I was glad to see that Doug was also the crew foreman, as he had impressed me before with the estimate phase. A full crew showed up with a lot of equipment. They were very careful to do as little damage to the yard as possible, using plywood to lay across the lawn. Despite these tall trees being close to the house, with large branches hanging directly over it, all trees were removed without incident. Cleanup was excellent. Excepting the stump grinding, the work was done in less than four hours. Amazing. My kudos to Mark and Doug and the rest of the crew. We will definitely use Northside for any future tree services.

Northside Tree Professionals were a joy to work with. They were the first company to respond to my request for estimates for the tree removal. The price they quoted was very reasonable, and they informed me of additional discounts that I was eligible for. They arrived promptly on the designated morning and had cut and removed the trees by noon. Their stump grinder arrived shortly after and was completed his work quickly. All of their staff were courteous and professional. I'd highly recommend them.

They did a great job and cleaned up all debris. They worked with me and listened to my opinions answering all my questions while doing the job. Great communicators! I will definitely call them for any future tree work I need. :)

Had the same basic service with this company about a year ago. This time they removed a few trees that were a little too close to the house and a few more with large limbs that were hanging over my neighbor's back yard where kids play. Scheduled to come out for the quote within a couple days and then scheduled the work less than a week after that. Showed up on time with a large crew and got right to work.

Look no further - if you're shopping for a tree service, Northside is amazing! I received many quotes, and they were the best price by far and I can't say enough about their exceptional service! I had an enormous tree that started to lean over and became very dangerous because of the ice storm. Mark sent one of his team members out that very afternoon to take a look at it even though they were swamped with calls. He also made sure I got on his schedule right away which I know was very tough because of all the trees that had fallen. If it wasn't for Northside, the tree would have damaged both my house and my neighbor's. The crew was incredibly friendly and they did a great job! They even cleaned up additional branches that had fallen all over my yard because of all the ice. It would have taken me a whole day to clean up the extra trees myself. It's very rare to find a service that provides such exceptional service and is also so affordable!

It went extremely well. The workers finished faster than expected and did exactly what was discussed. Pricing was true to estimate and the project manager stayed in contact with me since I was at work while the company was on my property.

We can't say enough great things about the owner, W. Mark Heiser, and his crew. From the moment they arrived (15 minutes early) we knew we were in good hands. Two crews (about 10 guys) all wearing company uniforms, pulled up in some pretty impressive trucks and equipment in tow. This was a stark contrast from the company our neighbors employed to take down two of the same kinds of trees. It took them 2 full days to finish a much easier job and they looked like complete amateurs while doing it. I met, Will, the crew chief, a somewhat imposing looking man who couldn't have been more courteous and friendly. We walked the property together and clarified everything in the job proposal for each tree. There were some branches on my neighbors pine tree that we wanted to get cut back but my neighbor was concerned about this. Will knew just how to handle it. In addition, two of the Bradford pears were situated very close to each other and between my neighbors fence and our children's play set. Not a scratch on either one. Even if there was, I have no doubt they would have taken care of it. We were also concerned for our neighbors newly planted azalea bushes which were very close to the trees. Will offered that they could dig them up and replant them after the job but it wasn't necessary. They were also great about protecting our Christmas lights which could have been damaged when the tree and branches came down. I also asked if they could put some wood aside for firewood and they left a perfectly stacked pile for us. The other crew chiefs on the job, Elmer and Doug, were great, too. Doug had come out for the final estimate and was really great to work with. They kept us informed about the timeline for completing the job which was very helpful. The crew really worked hard and got the entire job done in 1 hour 45 minutes!! We were amazed at how fast they were able to haul out the branches and tree trunks from our backyard all the way to the front where they met with the most powerful chipper I've ever seen. Another very important thing to note is that we also couldn't believe how CLEAN they left the jobsite. You wouldn't have known they were even here if it weren't for the ground up woodchips from the stumps (and the missing trees). I guess my other neighbors were also impressed because two of them requested tree services for their own properties which the crew started right after our job was completed. I sit on the board for the HOA of this community and have asked that Northside Tree be the preferred vendor for future tree service. The owner, W. Mark Heiser, was just up here again giving us an estimate for some trees in the community. We are looking forward to seeing them in action again. And, once again, they beat out the estimates from the other tree service providers. If you are looking for a great tree service provider, it would be a mistake not to give Northside Tree Professionals a chance for your business.

They were very good. They came out quickly and did a good job. I was amazed at how good the appraiser was and how well they all did. I would use them again.

It went great. They returned my call right away and sent an estimator out the same day. They estimate they gave me was a good price so I agreed to have the work done. I requested insurance certificates which they provided the next day and the work was scheduled for the next day. The crew arrived on time. They did the work and then cleaned up the yard afterward. It was a great experience and I would definitely use them again.

From start to finish this company provided excellent customer service; they are prompt, efficient and professional. I called on a Sunday to make an important for an estimate, fully expecting to leave a voice message. To my surprise, Mark answered the phone and an appointment was made for the very next day. Doug came out and provided a very fair and reasonable estimate. The entire crew was courteous and cleaned up afterward. I highly recommend and will use them again for any tree service needs.

Outstanding experience at all stages of our project. Responded within an hour to my initial inquiry (kudos to Mark), and Douglas was at my house to provide a very competitive estimate within two hours of that (kudos to Douglas). I had already contracted with an arborist and knew what I needed done. The work was scheduled about a week later, and the tree crew showed up exactly on time. The crew was efficient, courteous and professional. Cleanup was very good with no discernible damage to the lawn, a dogwood tree that was very close to the dead tree, and our treasured azaleas. This is one top-notch company that I highly recommend. I'll be using them again for my future tree removal and maintenance needs.

Northside is a great company! The original estimator was on time and really considered the scope of work and how his crew could best accomplish the job. I had several other bids where the estimators seemed stumped by how to approach the job and wasted a lot of time determining what needed to be done. We had to have additional tests run of the City of Atlanta Arborist to determine the degree of rot and although Northside does not do these tests they were helpful in identifying people who could. The day of removal the crew was early and ready to go. They were efficient and professional. The process went smoothly and was a lot of manual work with a crew having to hand remove the tree as it was brought down. The next day, I met with Mark who lives in the Virginia Highland neighborhood and was involved throughout the process. Mark was very helpful as we walked the job and knew the work that had been done. I cannot say enough good about this company. It is refreshing to deal with a group that is punctual, efficient and has reasonable pricing. This is the company to use if you need trees limbed-up or removed.

Northside was great to work with. They quickly gave me a quote and put me on the calendar. I had a somewhat complicated tree to take down as it was growing into my garage and surrounded by electrical lines. It was probably 50 year old tree and was very very tall. They called and scheduled the day the tree would come down. The day of the removal they called to let me know what was going on and when. Took photos and sent them to me. their crew cleaned everything up when they were done. I highly recommend them. I was out of town at the time and felt like I was in very good hands for this job.

They accomodated our scheule for the initial evsluation and the days of services. They entire staff was on-time, professional and courteous. They cleaned up completely after the job was completed.

Wow. I can't say enough about our experience! The poplar we had to remove was, besides being very tall, rotting from the inside. It was within 10' of our house, and our yard has both sod and a sprinkler system, both of which COULD have been damaged. It was like a finely tuned military operation: they arrived at 8:30 in the morning with a crane; two bobcats; a mulcher; a stump grinder; and about 8 workers. They set up and had the tree down, mulched, ground, and GONE by about 11:00. In addition, there was no damage to our yard, sprinkler system, driveway, sidewalk, or any other plants/trees. It was an amazing sight. Moreover, we asked for 4 sections of the trunk, wherever they felt the wood was best, to be cut and saved for use as coffee table legs or something similar. They cut 4 beautiful chunks, about 18-24 inches tall, and put them near our fence, out of our way. If we ever have a need to have tree work done in the future, these will absolutely be the first people we call!!

Called and got estimates from three tree services. The price that I got from Northside was right in line with that which I received from other services; Northside also had a 5% off coupon for Angie's List customers. When I called, an estimator was scheduled to come out and view our house/lot within three days. Doug came out, was on time, and professional - and introduced himself with his business card. We looked together at the issues that I had (wanting more sun on grass and plantings, wanting to decrease tree crowding and talked about whether to remove a tree or to trim all trees back. Doug was strongly in favor of trimming the canopy (trimming lower branches) of all three trees and leaving all in place. (This was also what the other two companies recommended.) I called Doug the next day and told him we'd go with Northside. I waited a week for the company to call me, and when it didn't, I called Doug back. Within an hour or so after I called him, I received a call from Northside's scheduler. The crew arrived this morning, early, as promised (8:30 a.m.), reviewed with me what I wanted done, and got to the job. Within an hour they'd completed the job, cleaned up the mess that had been made, and blew the final bits of shredding away. Great job, great cleanup, no hassle.

The guys at Northside were amazing. They were priced competitively, but chose them due to their approach. Prompt, brought a big crew and got to work - with all of the work taking less than half a day. They even cut up a couple of stumps for us to use as seating (the kids love this) They were open to some additional onsite work and negotiated a fair deal on the spot. While the crew was awesome, the subcontractor for the stump grinding was not. He almost overturned the mammoth grinder, got it very stuck and his boss had to come assist to get it out. Slight damage to a few trees as well. The good news is that Northside came right over and assessed the issues, repaired what they could and have been really helpful in monitoring. Will be using them in the future.
