Kumar and the Just Decks (shout out to Mrs Mary)team performed an EXCEPTIONAL job with my deck. From planning, COST, responsiveness, and COMMUNICATION! For me when working with compnay these are the things that are critical! My crew was timely, communicative, and respectful. I would recommend them for deck jobs! THX AGAIN JUST DECKS team for a JOB WELL DONE!

After having a terrible experience with Just Decks, I had another carpenter come out to extend the deck a few feet. The first thing he said after working day one - "Man, who did this deck? There are all kinds of things they did wrong." Most notably, they laid most of the deck boards with the wood grain curving up, meaning that over time those boards will bend in a concave fashion and hold water. My new carpenter said "This is deck building 101 stuff here. I can't believe they did this." I asked if there was any merit to putting the wood grain that way and he said "Even if there was, they weren't consistent. Some of the boards go the correct way, so it's pretty clear they just didn't care. Very sloppy stuff." So now I have a deck with floor boards and hand rails that will warp more over time dude to simple laziness. And this just confirms everything I already knew after the awful experience working with them. Excuse after excuse, time after time, very little to no oversight of job, lack of response, trash left in yard for weeks on end, etc, etc, etc. Seriously, do not hire these guys. You can do SO MUCH better.

Within three working days the job was done. *looks amazing

Nice people but the quality of their work is not good. No attention to detail, sloppy work and it took them forever to finish the job. If you are looking for a rustic deck, go ahead, but if you need a more finished and quality product, go shop somewhere else.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! They are unprofessional, they have no integrity, customer service is a very foreign concept for this company, they have no work ethic, and they do a lousy job. There are so many things I'd like to say about this company, but the first one is that I totally and completely regret hiring this company to build our deck. We've been saving up for so many years, and this was a very important project for us, and Just Decks made a mockery of our project. Our project took a whopping 7 months to build!! And yes I understand there were issues with the inspections and the engineers, BUT, because of these issues I would expect Just Decks to do everything in their power to put our project in top priority and complete it, but what they did was just keep dragging us along saying the inspectors didn't show up or they didn't pass inspection, in the mean time no work was being done. When I talked to contractor he admitted to me that he completed two other projects while working on our project. The contractor they sent was lazy and unreliable. He would say that him and his crew would be here first thing early morning, but he'd show up at 11:30, go for lunch and 1:30, come back from lunch at 3:30, and then go home at 5:00. They never worked a full week!! we were lucky if they worked 3 days out of the week. They used our back yard as a garbage dump, throwing their fast food containers, bags, plastic bottles, and food all over the place. I would go collect all the garbage at the end of the day. I can understand building debris being around the back yard, but not regular garbage. The contractor showed complete disdain towards me as a customer. He kept whining and complaining to me about his back, his knees, and his truck; When Kumar initially came to the house to give us a quote, he showed me pictures of beautiful decks his company supposedly built, after see the slopping work done on our deck I don't believe for one minute that they built those decks in the pictures. It's been a year since they started this project and six months since they completed it, however the final things that still need to be done, like sanding down the wood so we don't get all the splinters in our hands, still have not been taken care of. I hate our deck, every time I sit outside or in the screened porch I see all the uneven wood, the nails and screws sticking out, and the overall sloppiness of the work we paid alot of money for. Do not waste your time and definitely do not waste your money on this company.

Mr. Kirk and his staff were honest and pleasant to interact with.  At the end of the day, we had a well built deck for a reasonable price.  So why a "C" instead of an "A"?   The first reason was that the project took much longer than I anticipated.  We entered into our agreement with Just Decks on March 25 of this year and the project wasn't completed until June 17.  The most significant delay occurred immediately after we signed the contract in late March.   The actual work on the project did not begin until late April, and we were never appraised of the reason for the delay.  The second reason was that after the initial construction was finished, the deck failed inspection by the county and the steps had to be re-built to meet county code.  An "A" contractor, in my opinion,  would have completed the deck in conformance with the code the first time.  The third reason was that the construction team wasn't really self sufficient.  During the project they borrowed multiple tools from me, including a ladder, wheel barrow, and tarp.  I was happy to lend a hand, especially if it avoided an additional construction delay, but an "A" contractor in my opinion, would have showed up with all of the tools that they needed to do the job.
Based on the price, results, and interactions with Mr. Kirk and his staff, we would probably hire them again, but we would go into the project with our eyes wide open.

We were so impressed that we asked them to complete ours. Though quite huge, they took it on. A saying we were more than pleased was an understatement. This deck is a true masterpiece!

I couldn't be any happier with the work that they did. The staff was very courteous and a joy to work with, and the workers were very courteous, professional, and did excellent work. I would recommend Just Decks to anyone needing to have excellent quality improvements and maintenance done to their home or business, and all at a very reasonable price.

The quote process was pain-free, some other providers provided more excuses about not getting the work quoted or about long lag times between the time they with the work tothe quote, Kumar came out and reviewed the work to be done and returned the quote within a short period of time after assessing the work.  The quote contained a lot more detail than estimates received from others, which in most cases was just a bottom line price.  The quoted price was $800 less than the next closest estimate, although the old addage "you get what you pay for" needs to always be considered, I believed due to the details in the quote and the reviews that Just Decks was the way to go.
Once the contract was signed, Just Decks worked very quickly to schedule the work and start the work, within a few days of getting the signed contract.  They arrived at the time indicated and worked very quickly to remove the deck and fence.  The work was efficient and the workers were focused on the task at hand.  The deck was completed, along with the fencing and it looks great.  The deck that was removed was original with the house and was in need of replacement.  The new deck has a slightly different look with a sweep rail to allow for the deck to easily be cleaned and this makes the deck look much better.  It is very stable and is exactly what I was looking for.  The replacement fence sections looks a lot more stable than the original fence that was removed.  There was some debris from the work left in the backyard after the completion of the deck and fencing but Just Decks came out, without any reminders, to clean up and haul away the remainder of the debris.  I gave them a "B" for quality only because the deck will need to settle and age a little in order for this to be truly known.  I do not expect any issues and really like the look of the deck.  I also provided a "B" for punctuality because they arrived and worked when scheduled,  that met the expectations and I think it would have been tough to merit an "A" from me in these areas.  I gave an "A" rating in the other areas because they exceeded my expectations.
Just Decks did a good job from contact to completion of the work.  Most of my contact with Kumar was via e-mail but it never was a problem to contact him and receive a reply quickly.  I am very happy with the work that was done and feel that I made the right choice in selecting Just Decks to perform this work.

The project went well.  Just Decks constructed a 16 x 16 deck that covered my old, cracked concrete slab at my back door. I'm pleased with the final results.  The black metal balusters really look good.  Also, they power washed my house, which was included in the price as a Angie's List bonus. They gave me the best price and excellent service.

Outstanding, professional service. Very responsive and great value!

 We were very happy with the whole process, it went very smoothly and everyone on the site were professional. 
  The only problem was one of the young men was moving some rock material and concrete pieces and put them 
 in the wrong place, but that was quickly fixed.

All Workers arrived generally as scheduled and performed construction properly and in a satisfactory manner.

The job was excellent, the service was excellent.  They are very willing to work with you and answer any questions you might have and show you how to do things if you want to do the job yourself.
