The company promised repair of storm damage with proceeds from insurance plus the deductible. They replaced the roof with several problems. Promises to give me one day notification before beginning & to have an English speaking crew member were not kept. They attempted to reuse half of the storm dented vents, but relented upon my complaint. Most important, they installed an inferior grade of shingle which I did not notice until after installation. I mentioned my disappointment & about a day later a company representative (who claimed to be the owner) came ranting into my home stating something like I should be glad they installed any roof at all. Rather than try to break the contract & start trying to get a new contractor late in the year, I paid (to another person represented to me to be the owner) $8000 for the roof & $3700 for agreed upon materials presumably already ordered for the siding. Three weeks later, the company demanded an additional $4000 over the insurance allowance for the siding. I asked for my deposit back & about a week later was told it was in the mail. When it did not arrive, they stopped talking to me. Dozens of calls went unreturned. Luckily, with the help of the Office of the Attorney General & the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry, the bulk of my deposit was returned. However, it is now winter & I expect I will have to go through the season with malfunctioning gutters & a hole in the siding (from materials testing).
