Heidi was very personable on the phone and came out to evaluate two trees in our backyard. One was leaning toward the house and the other had a large open cavity. The house inspector for potential buyers felt the trees were dangerous.
Heidi Harrington was recommended to me by Northside Tree Professionals who had done some tree removal work for us previously. Northside Tree Professionals said it is best to get the trees evaluated by a certified arborist and not to depend on the advice of a house inspector or a tree removal company.
Heidi is an ISA Certified Arborist and a SAF Certified Forester. She provided a very detailed and informative report complete with pictures. Very educational. I learned a lot. Neither tree required immediate action, but her report also contained recommendations going forward.
I would encourage anyone to spend a little money and get a tree evaluated before rushing to cut it down because it leans toward the light or has an old wound. For 39 years every tree company that worked in the neighborhood knocked on our door and told us the old tulip poplar with the cavity needed to be removed. This tree needs to be monitored, but it is still alive, is healthy and has been healing itself with solid growth around the cavity. Will it have to be taken down some time in the future. Undoubtedly. Everything eventually dies, but not today for this tree.
