HABERSHAM GARDENS LANDSCAPE SERVICES

Very good. Was completed within an hour and a half. Replaced dirt (compact and sloping away from home gradually) so that water would not intrude into home and laid down pinestraw. These last two were just completed without my asking and without additional funds expended.

First off, I want to say that you will not be disappointed if you use Habersham for landscape projects. My husband and I contracted them for a series of projects last spring that were done perfectly. They were very responsive, came out to walk the yard and talk about needs, and provided a quote very quickly. When the day came to do the projects, the crew on site even gave some pointers on how to handle some of them differently, which was very appreciated. They have a great warranty on their trees and shrubs and when we noticed one of the shrubs was dying, they immediately came out and planted another one.
However, when it comes to their maintenance services, that's another story.
We finally had to cancel our maintenance contract with Habersham Gardens. After almost a year of very poor service and repeated complaints with promises to fix the issues, we couldn't take it anymore. Their lawn and garden maintenance would leave boxwoods untrimmed. Weeds were never under control. Our grass was left cut uneven and full of weeds when my neighbors' grass (all the same grass in a planned community) had no weeds and looked full and fresh. They would leave weeds in the flower beds and 1-2 ft tall briars untouched. Ivy was growing through the porch steps that was left behind. In order to get them to fix the issues, my husband would call their customer service and they would fix it the NEXT time they came out, only to be back to their old neglectful ways the following visits. They blamed it on the fact that they couldn't hire/ keep good workers. Well, when we're paying top dollar for lawn maintenance ($220 a month not including seasonal flower bed plantings), we didn't expect to have to call every time to fix the issues.
The last straw was when my husband walked out to his car on the way to work one morning to find the crew mowing wet grass that was being slung out of the mower and on my and my husband's freshly detailed brand new cars that were parked in the driveway. When my husband called to complain, he was told that the crew isn't supposed to do that and should know better. But this is the same kind of thing we were told every time there was a problem. The maintenance workers don't care and will be as fast as possible at the expense of quality service. The management of the company has no way of checking their work and  cannot seem to get the workers to live up to the quality standards you'd expect from paying a premium price. Even though their customer service rep Cameron was always nice on the phone, it didn't make up for the fact that the workers would repeatedly make egregious mistakes.
Habersham at one point did give us a discount on one month of service and ended up reimbursing my husband for having to get another car detail done and for fixing a crack in his windshield due to grass mowing mistake. But if the crew was doing what it should have been doing as contracted then we'd never would have need to request for those in the first place.

We've used Habersham for maintenance since moving into our home in October. We really like utilizing gardeners that have a reputation for quality, are easy to work with and contact, and can do maintenance but also projects. By having them for maintenance, we build a good relationship and are able to reach out for them for projects as needed.

It is easy to reach our contact by email, which I appreciate. I would love an online bill-pay option, but that is a minor inconvenience.

The guys who come to do maintenance are always quick and efficient. They leave no sign they were here except a cleaned up lawn :)

I have been told this is somewhat expensive for service, but it's not outside of our budget and they do quality work. The weeds that were in our yard are gone. The overgrown vines around our doorway were taken care of on the first visit. And - again - they leave everything looking immaculate. I'm really ok paying for quality service, and these guys definitely fit that bill.

They came out quickly but took awhile to get me the quote. The ideas presented were good and after a few more discussions the plan for the yard was what I wanted. The installation went well and done on schedule. They cleared and leveled an area for a play set and did a pretty good job. They laid new sod and did a good job. They redid all the landscaping in the front of our house and did a very good job. I also use them for weekly maintenance and they've done well but consistently don't trim certain hedges in the yard as soon as needed but eventually take care of them. Their maintenance price was in the middle of the four groups I received quotes from so I think the price is fair. I will continue to use them.

Their representative came to the house and we spent about an hour discussing what would be best for the garden.  He made appropriate recommendations for flowering bushes and other plants.  He also suggested that the cypress, planted last year by another company, were too close together and some of these should be replanted to give all the trees more space to expand.  The crew that arrived quickly and efficiently completed the work as discussed.  When I discussed the project with their represenative, I made it clear that whatever would replace the three trees permanently removed should be large enough to cover the same amount of space.  What they brought was definitely not the size requested although I was assured that in 2-3 months it would grow to fill the required area.  However, I was disappointed that I did not get what I requested.  When the crew left, I was given no care/watering instructions and had to call the main office to request that they e-mail me the appropriate instructions;  In general, I was very pleased with the work they did and have subsquently had several people remark on how well the garden looks.  I would definitely use their services again.

I contacted them in late March to make an appointment. They came by in mid-April and picked up all my pots. Two weeks later, they called to make arrangements to deliver the products.
The only problem I had was that they can't get to my place before 8am, and that's a challenge for me. They would say they'd arrive by 7:45, then not arrive until 8:15. However, they do great work, and I learned to adjust my expectations accordingly.

It was awesome. They were very professional, fast and had a nice plant selection. Everything in my front yard is doing very well.

It was very difficult to get the project started and then it was hard to follow-up with them afterward as the yard needed some small corrections.

The service they provide is top notch. They have a garden center where they run special events. We have used them in the past. They have a 2 year guarantee on all the plants they plant. We had to have a couple of our plants replaced.

It went very well initially until they lost interest. It took four months to get the lighting in and it still wasn't completed to my specifications. I was told they forgot to order the lighting. When I explained that several areas I indicated to install lights were left out, they said they would come out and install those lights missing. At that point I said to forget it, I would have someone else take care of it for me. I asked to have a certain type of pot placed in the courtyard and no one followed through. I asked again and I was told it would take several months to find what I was looking for. I found them in town in under 24 hours and it was from their source. It wasn't until I lost my temper (which took 4 months) that I got someone to pay attention to me. I guess $30,000 is not a big job for them to take seriously.

The designer was very nice and had some great ideas. While I'm sure they can do full-service, I get the feeling that typically they work with people who enjoy gardening and need help creating a plan. As a person who enjoys gardening, that's primarily what I was looking for.

We were in an odd situation in that our contractor was ready to get started almost a month early, so we were in a rush to get this done. It was, of course, Thanksgiving week, so it was hard to find people to be responsive. The folks at Habersham were able to come out quickly, even doing the work 5 days earlier than their first estimate. The shrubs are still alive, so I guess they did their job! The only complaint would be that they weren't immediately responsive, but again, I was in a rush and it was the holidays, so it may have just felt slow. I'm completely satisfied and would certainly hire them again.
