We recently bought a 100yo house in Inman Park. Some of the trees in the yard are far older than the house itself. The previous owner never trimmed limbs and we had large one come down onto the house. No house damage but with a limb too big to remove ourselves and wanting to avoid similar issues, I researched and found GTS. Despite having to wait for a month, the work was performed well. I was impressed at how much care the tech took to ensure no damage was done to our home and the neighbors. I will definitely be calling them to trim the trees each year.

I have learned to hate dealing with tree contractors. They don't return your call to even talk about giving you a quote, and then if you pick one for they work they never show up. I spent SEVEN WEEKS going through about a DOZEN tree contractors trying to find on that would grind out the stump of a large oak tree that had fallen on my property. I found one (who shall remain nameless, but it's not Gunnison) who did half the job,and then never came back. I spent three weeks with him and his promises, three weeks of my life that I'll never get back. Finally I gave up and went to Angie's List. That evening I left a message with this contractor (Gunnison) saying that I'd pay extra if they got the stump out ASAP. They called me back first thing the next morning, saying that their stump grinder would be in touch, and within an hour he had called me. I planned to go with them, but later that morning I decided to go with another contractor. I called Gunnison's stump grinder back (my notes say "Ness / Gordon") and he was cool with the change of plans, even surprised that I was even appreciative of his callback in the first place. I wish all contractors were like this. Thank you Gunnison and Co for your quick response.

Gunnison Tree Specialists were punctual both in terms of coming up with the quote and as well as showing up as promised. They were professional, well organized, and they did an outstanding job. They did what they were going to in the time they said they were going to do it, cleaned up after themselves and they're good folks to work with. Their price were a little bit high.

It was amazing how much they did in only one day. They took down several pines and left me a load of wood chips to use for mulch. Super professional and easy to work with. I marked the trees because I couldn't be there when they arrived. The took care of everything without me babysitting the process. You can't get any easier than that.

I liked the price because it was comparative. They were on time. They were professional. They seemed to know what they were doing. The place looks great now.

good job actually taking down the tree

The job went very well. They were all very professional and did an excellent job. Matt Cathell (the company president) came by several times to check on the job and accomodated my several last minute requests for additional work that was not scheduled for and not very easy to do. I appreciated their ability to perform such a difficult job with no damage to other trees or my concrete driveway. It was not an easy task to get the tree parts onto the street from my backyard to be hauled away. A small limb hit the chain link fence top rail (which could not be helped) and they not only fixed that but another dented piece that was damaged years ago. I recommend them highly and will certainly use them again.

GTS was fast to respond, sending out Andrew to take a look at the two trees I needed removed. He saw dead grass under another tree in my front yard and recommended trimming it back. The price he quoted me on the spot was the price I was charged after the work was done. The crew showed up on time and did the work specified. And I've got live grass growing under that tree - VERY happy and glad to recommend them. Best price among three different quotes. Found them on Angie's List and glad to be able to write a good report.

I didn't use them. They were certainly courteous and professional. I got quotes from several tree services that were within ten bucks of each other and I knew a guy that would do it really cheap. If I hadn't gone with him, I would have probably used Gunnison.

The price was good and the service was prompt, speedy and thorough. I was very pleased with the price and the quality as well as the punctuality with this job. A lot of neighbors have used this company and have also been happy with.

It went extremely well. A five man crew arrived about 8:30 AM and left five hours later with both trees cut down, the largest logs stacked at the curb and all of the debree cleaned up.All smaller limbs had been chipped. They even blew away all the sawdust.

The guys were great...they even stacked the firewood for me.

Matt and his crew are fantastic tree men. They did the job very efficiently and cleaned up as if they were never there in the first place. My neighbors all use their services and I wouldn t consider using anyone else but them. I also find their prices to be really good considering the work they have done for me.
