Great American Floors

I hired this company based on the reviews here so would like to post my experience so this doesn't happen to someone else. Their quote was higher than other companies, but we decided to go with them because of the good reviews. This is the worst service of any company I have ever dealt with and I have done extensive remodeling projects in the past. 
First of all, their website states they are members of the national wood flooring association, when I called to file a complaint, I was told they have not been members in good standing since 2013 and they said they would file their own complaint against the company. 


In brief, this company has terrible customer service and poor quality of work. Start date and delivery date delayed, delivered wrong underlayment, did not do full acclimation, damaged brand new installed floors and deny doing the damage. Insist on charging to repair mistakes and  the owner, Mark, accused me of damaging the floors. Jason, his son, denies poor workmanship without even seeing the floor. 
Failed to show up for repair appointments. 
Failed to respond to repeated text messages, emails and phone calls. 
Trevor didn't even measure enough floors for closets. Did not have enough flooring and so had to use damaged pieces.  


I posted negative reviews to help others and filed a complaint with NARI. Before I did this,  I told Jason I would be doing this and got no response. After I posted reviews, I got an email from Jason that he has contacted an attorney for slander and to not contact him anymore.

There were two people here doing the work. It took about 3 hours to complete. Everything turned out fine.

They did a good job. The crew was good to work with. The floors came out great.

They came out and help us decide what flooring to use and they did an excellent job doing the floors.

Alex and Marcelo were wonderful. Always on time,  did an outstanding job.  They are such hard workers, also have great attitudes. We got quotes from 4 companies, then narrowed it to two.  We are so glad we went with Great American Floors!  I love great customer service, along with great work, and they gave us that. Marc and Robbie Seltzer, owners, are great folks too!  Don't forget to play ball with Coco, their 4 legged baby, when you go to the store! Great experience....

This installation went perfectly, my floors after 5 years are still beautiful!!! I would highly recommend Great America Floors!  When I used them they were located in Sandy Springs, GA.  I see now they are in Norcross.  Hopefully, their service is still excellent!!

They have great service, great selection, wonderful pricing, and are always on time.  They always check back and if there is a problem, they fix it.  They are great to work with and we have been working with them for 20 years.

I had a lot of work done at one time so I can't really break up the price.  I had other extensive work done as well.  They are responsive.  They are family run business.  We deal directly with the people who own it and that's nice.  It's not a franchise.  They live in the area.  Their follow up is great.  I've never had any problems.  I would definitely recommend them.  That's not the only work they have done for us.  Ever since we've been in this house, they have done any flooring needs that we have had.  I think they are very reasonable.

I used them three times and they were good. They always over performed. They are a local family owned company.  I will definitely use them again.

They worked together with another company. It was a modest task. I don’t do exorbitant, exaggerated, ridiculous things like some people do. The work is wonderful. I’ve actually had no renovations again. They are actually here today doing another project for me. They’ve done carpet for me in the past and that’s why I used them. They are a small, family owned company. I’m very familiar with them. Jason, the owner comes out. He’s here on sight and checks on everything. He follows up with his people while they are doing the job. I just really like to use them. They’ve done other work in the neighborhood too. He lives in the area. They’ve carpeted one of my bedrooms in the past and they’ve also done the linoleum in the kitchen, but that was a long time ago. They are always wonderful and I don’t want to use anybody else.

I think they did the whole project well and I was pleased with them.

Jason (our salesman) was very responsive and prompt. Once we decided to proceed with the project the crew arrived as scheudled and began the lengthy process. I was a bit skeptical about the "dustless" sanding process but it was as advertised with a minor amount of dust and they tarped all of our cabinets and art/electronics as a precaution. We were not sure of the exact color we wanted so they patiently sampled 6 different stains to allow us to feel certain of our decision. My only complaint was the length of time to complete th entire project but really this speaks to the quality of workmanship and attention to detail. Rather than rush the process Wedson (sp?) wanted to insure everything was done correctly.

My real estate agent recommended them to me. There were two guys that came and they did a great job in terms of the appearance; it was the carpet I wanted and it was straight everywhere. They vacuumed, they cleaned up, and they put the bed back together; however, there were nails in the floor that had been holding down the previous padding and they didn’t do anything to remove them. The nails stick up through the carpet now and I’ve called them to see if it can be fixed. I would recommend them because overall, they were good to work with.

We chose them based on the reviews on the list. Somebody else recommended them to us, also. The service went okay, though it took longer than it should have. They dragged out the process a little bit. Now that they're in, though, the floors look good. In the end, I guess I was satisfied, though I wasn't happy about how long it took.

Excellent. In the 9 years I have lived in Atlanta, the installation team that worked at my house were 2 of the most hard working and professional people I have come across. They did a terrific job and everything was cleaned up so you wouldn't even know they had been working there. I will definitely have them come back to replace my upstairs flooring when the time is right!

Excellent! Even though they use an outside vacuum unit, they masked all cabinets and closed off openings with plastic sheeting. The operation took 3 days, but the result was floors that look better than when we bought this house new 21 years ago. Almost NO dust! Highly recommend Welton's crew. Polite, helpful, informative, spoke good English. Helped us put furniture back into place and briefed us on floor care.

I do not live in the area and only had 5 days to get my condo ready for a new tenant. Great American Floors helped me accomplish this with little effort on my part. I did not have time to pick out the carpet, but I described the unit and what type of carpet I wanted. They assisted with the selection of the carpet and were able to set up installation for two days later. I appreciate their flexibility and extra effort. Per my tenant and friends, the carpet looks great!

I needed to have new hardwood flooring installed in the home I am preparing to sell. Great American Floors did a wonderful job installing the floors, and they gave me a great value on the price. The workers were very professional, and I would use their services again.

There was quite a delay in the installation of the hardwood since Great American Floors determined that the sub floor had a high level of humidity at 17%, and they require a 10% level. I eventually got tired of the wait and decided to have them install anyway, which they only agreed after saying they would not provide a warranty for the work. Overall, it was not a very pleasant experience as I felt they were not flexible. However, their work was good and the installation only took two days. I think I will look around for someone else next time.

Great American Floors were on time and very efficient. The workers were professional and very meticulous in matching the wood. I thought they offered a very good price and I would highly recommend them to others.

We are extremely pleased with the result. There was an unavoidable cost overrun. When we pulled the carpet up we found crumbling and sagging sub floor. They did a superb job fixing it.

They were great! I was at the showroom where the selection of floors was enormous. They were very helpful and attentive. The installers were prompt, neat, and efficient. I am thrilled with the results.
