I bought the part directly from Home Depot, but there was really no charge on the service, so the price was fair. George is good. I've known George for a long, long time and he's been in the business for a long time. I trust his knowledge and expertise. I've been using him for 25 years now.

We have an ancient AC system that we don't want to replace because we're
about to sell our house, and odds are that it will be completely
remodeled by a buyer. Putting $1000s into a system that will be torn out
in months makes no sense. Equally, we would prefer not to melt before
we can sell.
George not only fixed our system, but explained to
my husband exactly why he was doing what he was doing. He came out the
same day we called him, on a Friday afternoon, and hand things back in
business very quickly. The charge was more than reasonable, and his
company actually called the next day to make sure that everything was
working properly.

Excellent experience. There simply CANNOT be a better Heating and A/C guy in this city. There is just no way. George is professional, courteous, fair, and flat-out knows his craft. I could not give him a higher recommendation and will only use him for my future needs.

I have had him for about 16 years. He is wonderful and he became a friend. I trust him. I have two units he works on. He is competent and reliable.

He came over right away and was honest with me in letting me know that my ducts were fine and that I did not have to do the baseboard heating, which was what other companies were telling me I had to do. He was able to install the heating and ac unit at a great price. Everyone in Atlanta loves him, because he can work with old homes. I wished Angie's List would let me give him an A+.

Called them because heat not working (furnace would not come on). On arriving later that day (fairly promptly), during the first attempt at repair all parameters seemed to check out ok, but a defective pressure switch (related to air intake pressures) was suspected based on the way the system started up and then shut itself off and despite the fact that no obstruction in the air intake ducting could be identified. A replacement part was purchased and subsequently installed, which did not resolve the problem. After consulting the next morning with company techs and a return visit and repeat assessment of the air intake for obstruction, a more thorough examination revealed leaves had been sucked in beyond the pressure sensor and into the combustion chamber (not an easy discovery and not something reasonable to suspect). Removal solved the problem (and I rigged up screening to prevent recurrence).
The main point of the tale is that George was promptly responsive and persisted in the attempt to identify the problem until a rather unusual and unexpected explanation was discovered and corrected on a Saturday afternoon.
Note: We have used George for HVAC maintenance and repair pretty much since we moved in (and gt;20 years ago), including replacement of the total HVAC unit with a high-efficiency system and installation at his suggestion of a secondary ductless split-type heat pump system for the upstairs master sweet (thus resolving long-standing issues related to sleeping in a converted attic in the summer). Throughout, George has been totally responsive, trustworthy, professional, competent, and a pleasure to work with. If there were a downside to the operation, it would be a certain casualness regarding the administrative side of things and an occasional failure to arrive for routine inspection visits when first promised (generally because of delays introduced by responding to emergency calls - which is understandable and forgivable).
Simply put, we trust him and would recommend him without reservation.

George Gary Inc. is based out of Inman Park / Edgewood, and is a nice little operation which I enjoyed working with. In my case I have a modest house with an old furnace and I just wanted him to check it out. I was glad to hear that George agrees that it's OK to just keep old equipment going if you can maintain it and make sure it's running right. We scheduled the work for a specific time about a week ahead of time. Unfortunately, nobody showed up at the appointed time (I was staying home from work to meet them), and after they were half an hour late I called them up. In their favor, after I called somebody did show up within about 15 minutes, another advantage of hiring extremely locally. They said they'd send me an invoice with the work description, but it took a reminder from me a few weeks later to get it. So there is a little dysfunction there but they are otherwise really nice to work with and have a lot of experience with maintaining old equipment without breaking the bank. I would use again in a heartbeat!

George is obviously very knowledgeable about these systems. I appreciated his explanation of how things work.

He is incredibly thorough and thoughtful. He is very knowledgeable and friendly about sharing information. He is an engineer so he knows about everything he is doing. He works to stay with the budget of who he is helping. We compared his estimate to a big company and he did great work for thousands cheaper. He has great price and great service. He has a great assistant as well. They really went out of their way to move around some clients when we had an emergency that we needed fixed.

I am not sure exactly what George did, but, he got it working. He has also been keeping our outside unit going, too. I thought we were going to have to get a new furnace, but, George replaced the part, and now it is functioning well. George actually took over this business for a fellow we used to use, but, he has died now. We have been working with George for like 10-12 years now. He is great!

I think that George Gary is a very fun person to be around. I had a bad experience with another company so I hired him to take care of our system. He is always very honest with me and straight up about any problems. I never feel like he is trying to up sell me.
