EMC2 WOODWORKING

The project started out well, but deteriorated quickly. When we agreed on the construction plan, Eric estimated that the closets would take 2 weeks. The project ended after two and a half months, but was not completed to entirety. The first carpenter on the job worked sporadically and made slow progress. At least two other carpenters worked at my house, but I was not made aware of the staff changes. Since this was a long project, I gave house keys to EMC2, but I explicitly asked them not to hide the key on my property. I became aware that they were hiding the keys after they informed me that they lost them somewhere in my yard. The inside of the closets and the closet doors were only painted with one coat of paint, showing pencil and other marks underneath. I had to finish the painting myself. The closet doors do not close flush and the storage door hinges are flimsy.

Met and he gave us a bid and we agreed to hire him. He started by saying that the job would take less than one month. At four months the job is still not done. He has not returned phone calls and took a two-week vacation starting today. We can not contact him and none of his employees know what is going on. Many details are left undone: Dangerous wiring, lights hanging from the ceiling, plumbing fixtures on the floor, etc. Unfinished work, no communication, days and weeks where he or any of his crew did not show or call. Paid in full and the job is incomplete and he is on vacation. Very disappointed in work and his dishonesty. We are now having to fix many things that were done incorrectly based on a contractor we hired.

They are wonderful! Eric Macfee came in an emergency situation; he was honest, reliable, hard working and did a GREAT job. I would strongly recommend him to anyone! He was a life saver.

Eric was great from the first time we met him until he finished the job. He did very careful work and he did it on schedule for a very reasonable price. His work looks great and he seems very knowledgeable about many aspects of home repair/work.

Eric does everything from top to bottom and the work he did on our house is exceptional. It was a comfort to not have a dozen different workers coming in & out of the house. His approach is very intelligent and we definitely felt like he was looking out for the integrity of our (old) house AND for our wallets! A year later, he still has a key to our house and we can call him whenever we need him. He's a pleasure to work with, honest and has a great eye for detail. I would highly recommend him for any type of project.
