They were almost an hour's drive away, and not as close to me as other video transfer companies, but I chose them because the were highly rated on Angie's List. They are pleasant to work with, and I would use them again.
Their process uses "direct imaging", which is the best way to do a film to digital transfer (and far better than an intermediate projection, for sure).
The resulting DVD had their business name only as a small logo, leaving lots of room for my own labeling.
The price was good.
The work did take a while to complete, a week or two, but they told me this ahead of time, and they did complete on schedule. They also took care of a special request I had about chapter markings on the DVD.
The only bad thing about this business is the location. Between the dropofs and pickups of the various reels, I ended up going there about 5 times, and if I never have to take the Roswell Road exit off 285 ever again, I will be a happy man. The traffic around that intersection is pure evil, seemingly at all times of the day.
Video Impact did an outstanding job, and I'm taking the time to write this to encourage people to take their film transfer business to them. I evaluated a few places in town, and this one was the best, and certainly a good value.
