Bought one clock and had one repaired and we are very pleased with both. When you want a clock repaired or want to buy a new one, go see Cornell! Spent his whole life in clock repair and was great to work with.

I've been in and out of this shop for over twenty-five years. This is a wonderful family business and each clock that they have repaired has been running problem free ever since. I'll be calling them soon to fix my grandfather clock! I don't really know of anyone who repairs old and antique clocks but these guys definitely know what they are doing. I would highly recommend them. He told me young people don't like these old style wind up clocks much that they prefer battery clocks. These babies sound lovely, last longer and are fun to have. Young people, get yourself a nice statement piece for your mantle!

Return service on the clock was to be provided under "warrantly" as stated by Classic Clocks and noted on my paid receipt for original work performed in May 2014.
Dropped non-working clock off at service provider the first week of July 2015.  Was told it would be ready by July 30.  I called on July 31st and was told they had not worked on clock and that they would call me when ready.  I called again several weeks later and they still had not worked on clock.  When I called at the end of August, I was told the clock would not run (which I knew), and would I mind if some components were "switched-out".  I said that was fine as long as the clock would run and look the same. When I called back in the middle of September, I was told the clock was not running and would I mind if the "movement" was replaced.  I was a bit surprised because I thought that parts were being swapped out when I called previously, but was told "we decided to try something else instead".  I called again on October 26, only to learn that nothing had been replaced in the clock and that it was still not working.  I honestly feel that I was getting the run-around because this was warranty work and the shop did not stand to collect hundreds of dollars in repair fees.  When I expressed my frustration to the owner when picking up the clock on October 29 that parts had never been exchanged as I was told on two separate occasions (I don't know if he just did not remember asking me twice if I objected to replacement parts), he stated that I cleaned it and replaced the spring and " I had about 10 hours of work in the clock and it was still not running, and I felt that was enough time invested".  BEWARE.  You will not be provided with honest information when you call for updates. Their warranty claim is not good, their record keeping and recollection of prior conversations is totally lacking.  I would have been willing to pay for replacement parts, but was never given the chance to convey that to this business.
I took the clock immediately to another highly rated clock repair service.  I explained that the clock had been cleaned in May 2014 and again in October 2015 and was told that there was no way the clock had been cleaned in 2014, let alone this year.

Fantastic! Byron was great, came out and looked at the clock, gave us an estimate and stuck to it on the repair. Our clock sounds better than ever.

I called and made an appointment. Bernie of Classic Clocks was prompt, courteous, and professional. He is knowledgable and capable .. I do not remember the exact date or cost of his service but I was very pleased with his work and would highly recommend him to anyone needing help with a fine antique clock.

Complaint summary as follows:
1. Price was too high for the services.
2. Work was not complete even after multiple visits.
3. Did not call when complete.
4. Total time to complete was too long (over 3 months).

Initial service order on January 20, 2012 was $185 to clean and lubricate one cuckoo clock and determine the scope of the second cuckoo clock, call to propose work to be done on the other cuckoo clock. Several calls later, we found out the second clock would be the same - $185. We said ok and waited. and waited. and waited. Finally, after several calls to the shop, we picked up our clocks and took them home. The second clock would not run continuously. It would stop after an hour or two. Took the second clock back to the shop and waited. and waited. No calls from the shop for status or pickup. During this waiting, the other clock stopped a few times, so we decided to take it back when we pick up the first clock, if ever. Once we found out the clock was ready (we called him), we found out the clock was not ready. The owner told us the dancing couples on the top would not dance. He said he would fix, but he could not find a supplier of the parts. After asking what was wrong, he attempted to repair while we waited but said in the end he could not fix it. He charged us full price for a clock movement and said "have a nice day". After paying and taking it home, I adjusted and tightened some parts on the music box and geartrain, and the people are dancing again. I also cleaned and oiled the wood facia, because it was so dirty and dry. Apparently, this was not part of the "cleaning". The owner did not seem to care about fixing my clock. I ended up fixing the clock myself and it works fine. Not telling how much more we would have to spend if the owner could purchase replacement parts. I will not recommend this repair shop to anyone.

12/31/12 Update:
Downgraded score. After two months, the clock stopped. I took the clock to Dupree's in Marietta, and they said the clock was completely worn and that this should have been found and reported by Classic Clocks. Dupree's re-bushed the faceplates, replaced the chains, cleaned and lubricated. The clocks now works and sounds fantastic. I can tell by looking at the movement and listening to the "beat", the clock is now performing like it should. Classic Clocks should be ashamed.

In order to fix it he slowed down the Westminster chime and he honored his one year warranty after I told him I didn't like it slowed down. He then fixed it another way and finished with it in a timely fashion. It is working okay now and I am happy with the service.

We took the clocks in, they said that they could do the work, they did...quite well. Stop by the shop sometime, they do amazing things there including re-building old clockworks from county courthouse steeples.

Outstanding! Bernie's is very friendly and very, very knowledgeable about clock repair. He's not the fastest (be prepared for a long wait) but it's worth it because he's in demand. He's probably not the least expensive repairman but you get what you pay for and I wouldn't entrust a family heirloom with anyone else. His shop is small and packed with clocks but it's a fun visit to see all of the neat antique clocks he's working on.
