Michael was very professional in evaluating the extense of repairs on 2 antique wall clocks. He provided budget friendly options on repairs of the clocks, for me to make a final decision. I was not in a rush for the repairs, and he managed to complete the repairs before my absolute deadline. I would highly recommend this shop for repairs and the support they provide for any emotional items you are considering to keep. They have the historical background of device and manufacturing materials used during that period. Informative and great experience.

Super! They fixed th problem and told me it didn’t need cleaning and it cost $120 less than expected. It did take awhile because it took quite some time to figure out what was wrong. They allowed it to hang on the wall and several times it stopped long before expected. So they would look at it again. They took the time to fix it properly. I had it in several times before at other shops and they would say it was fixed, but it would stop and they would tell me it was how I wound it. Can’t say enough good things about Bower’s.

In addition to completing the work on time and for a little less than originally quoted, Mr. Bowers gave me a history lesson about the clock. This lesson further enriches this sentimentally priceless clock for me.

I had a very good experience with them. He told me what was wrong and what it was going to cost. He had to replace a whole unit completely because the clock wasn't made anymore. It works fine now.

Our mantle clock, which needed major repairs was done in an hour, and 3 of the watches returned to us in minutes. Great business-- we'll be going there from now on! Last time I got the mantle clock done I was charged twice the price and it took 6 weeks to get the clock back! This was outstanding service, where we were taught the ins and outs of our clocks and watches.

The job took about 4 weeks to complete. I told Mr. Thomas that the length of time taken to inspect it wasn't important, but it was important that the clock be thoroughly inspected and cleaned. The inspection was completed at their store location. At an agreed time (one month after Mr. Thomas' visit), I called to see if the work was completed. Michael Bowers (Thomas' son) answered in the affirmative and asked (actually suggested) that Mr. Thomas could be at the house within a 2 hr. timeframe to reinstall the clock's inner workings and review a checklist to get it properly set. He showed up in under two hours, we had a great discussion about the piece, payed him and he left me with a clock that was exceptionally repaired and working. The Bowers are masters at what they do and they treat you as if you are a part of their family. I would highly, highly recommend them for ANY clock repair and plan to use them exclusively for watch, clock? and of course? grandfather clock repair.

We have an antique mantel clock that needed cleaning. He seemed to have the expertise and we have an 18th century grandfather clock that we will take to him. I think the price was high.

Customer service was fast and courteous.  The battery replacements were performed on the spot within 15 mins.  My only concern was that 3 of the 5 watches were noticeably scratched during the repair process.  I would recommend going somewhere else that may take a little more care in their workmanship.

He opened it up and said whoever worked on it last replaced the battery and didn't put the protective sheath over it, so that's why it was acting.  He took it apart and replaced the battery and got it working again.  It was amazing.

Service was great, very personable.  He sized while we waited for a few minutes.  My son was happy and he did it at no charge.  I told him I'd be back with my grandmother's mantel clock for service/repair.
Response from Bowers Watch & Clock Repair
"We were happy to perform this service at no charge. No one likes to receive a watch as a gift only to turn around and pay a fee to get it fitted."

It's not often that someone provides a service and doesn't charge you for it, but that's what I got at Bower's Watch & Clock Repair.
I took my wife's antique art deco watch to Bower's to see if they could fix the top cover of the casing which had come loose and fallen off (gasp!) a couple of times.  Not sure how it wasn't lost when that happened, but thankfully my wife was able to find it.  We'd had the watchmaker at the store we bought it from look at it, but he wasn't able to permanently solve the problem.  Anyhow, I left the watch with the guys at Bower's and although initially they weren't sure they would be able to solve the problem either, I got a call about a week later saying that the watch was ready to pick up.  Turns out that the problem wasn't in the top of the case, but rather in the bottom of the case which needed a small adjustment so that the watch unit itself sat inside the casing properly.
I was expecting to pay these guys something for their time of course, but they wouldn't take my money for what they said was such a minor thing.  Minor for them maybe, but major for me.
I appreciate the care and attention to detail that they demonstrated in fixing this watch.  Take your clock or watch there the next time it needs service and I'm sure you will agree with me.

"We love this type of feedback, but this really comes from the principles and ethics invoked by the company's founder, my grandfather."
