Alex works hard, is diligent and conscientious. Always responds quickly to 'fone calls. For years he worked alone, but he now has a helper which greatly facilitates getting the job done more thoroughly and more quickly. The helper is a big help and seems to be learning his trade.

I have used Alex for a long time but had no need for any services for several years. After all that time, I needed a full check of my system and Alex was right on it. He is prompt, courteous and professional and really knows irrigation. He got everything up and running correctly with full coverage. At my daughter’s house, I needed repairs and a good system check and called the company who had put in the system. They never could seem to get me on the schedule and in the meantime, I had reconnected with Alex so I called him. He was on it instantly. We had a variety of hidden problems and he stayed on it until every single one was addressed. I was on a very tight time frame and Alex made time for me. I was extremely grateful for the fantastic service and will not use anyone else. He really knows what he is doing and is always willing to help. He is the best!

Alex was a disappointment, I called him from a Nextdoor recommendation to fix 2 cut pipes and he found an additional one to be fixed. He fixed properly however and charged $275 for 45 minutes (1st quoted $325). I had to leave for a business appointment and left a check for him. He said he would inspect the entire system before he left and call me if there was anything else needing repair. Alex sent pictures when he was done of what he fixed and said all else was good. I specifically asked him if he checked all sprinkler heads and he said "yes" all is good. The attached pictures are what I found in my front yard when I returned home. I also found a "stuck head" in the back yard. I called Alex about it and he said I told you would have more troubles??? I called him the next day and he said he wasn't doing service calls anymore he was just too busy. I got angry and said "OK ALEX" and hung up. Over the next two days I left him a voice mail and text and he hasn't returned my call or text. He should not be recommended any longer.

We moved into a new house and the irrigation system was basically completely non-functional: a third of the sprinklers didn't work, another third were pointed in the wrong direction, etc. We called Alex and told him that we just to get working irrigation for the whole yard and he came and talked me through the process and did good work replacing heads and making sure there was complete coverage and we were satisfied. Total bill was around $1400 which was a lot of money, but we were glad to have this taken care of and resolved. A week later I notice that of four zones on my system, one zone doesn't turn on at all and one head from another zone doesn't rotate. I told him about the head not rotating and he immediately told me I was wrong, that it was working exactly as expected, I didn't know how sprinklers worked, etc. When I told him the zone didn't turn on, he came back and found that the electrical system had never been wired correctly (not his fault on the bad wiring, but he had never checked it originally and didn't notice since he turned zones on manually) and that I was right about the one head not rotating. He fixed everything and it took about 10-15 minutes and I was satisfied. Then he said that I owed him $95 for his labor for the second visit. I told him that I had paid to have a functioning sprinkler system and he hadn't given me that the first time and he got borderline aggressive and said that I never told him the wiring was wrong (as if I had any way of knowing that was an issue, having lived in the house for two weeks) and that he doesn't work for free and all sorts of stuff. I paid him because I didn't want to drag an argument out for an hour, but I definitely felt nickel-and-dimed on an expensive repair that we believed was whatever was required to fix our system and left us with 1/4 of our system not set up to get watered through the timer. He knows his stuff but make sure to get pricing up front.

Repairs & New Installation

Alex did a super job as usual.

He came today and did some repairs and also gave me estimate for some work that i needed to be done and he is absolutely terrific. Alex was extremely professional and extremely knowledgeable. He fixed the problem that I have and no I can use my sprinkler more efficient.

Alex was a no show on the first appointment. He did reach out the following day and dropped by to assess the situation. He offered to go ahead and perform the work on the spot at an agreed price of $575. After he started digging, he did point that we needed to replace the valve due to the age (but he knew this when he originally quoted but added this on - approx. $100 more). He accidentally cut off another valve which added around 15 minutes of extra work to the project. In total, he was at our house for a total hours and total bill came to $1,000!!! He refused to honor the original quote (even though the valve should have been included in the original pricing). While we understand there were some "unexpected" issues, the main project was moving one valve 5 feet, but somehow the pricing almost doubled. When we objected to the price gouging, he finally agreed to meet us halfway. Very disappointing experience with this contractor!

They were out asap and found the leak and fixed it. I had gotten their name from a friend and will defiantly use them again and highly recommend them.

Great! I met Alex on Thursday and he was onsite Saturday morning doing the work. He’s very personable and provided good recommendations while not trying to sell me in things that weren’t necessary such as the sprinkler control box that 15 years old.

Alex came out to repair a zone that was not working. He has worked on our irrigation in the past. He quickly figured out the solution and repaired it well. He also came up with ways for our irrigation system to work more efficiently. Will you him again in the future.

Alex responded quickly and came to the house. Many companies would simply assess the problem and have a crew come out at a later time to do more diagnosis and repair. But Alex dove right into the problem himself, immediately, and hung in there until he understood where the leak was occurring and how to fix it. He spent 2+ hours personally digging down through the ground in the hot Georgia sun to find the leak, then then he repaired the broken pipe. I could tell that it was a point of pride for him to properly diagnose and fix the leak. He took person ownership of the problem and the repair. His fee was reasonable and fair. He is one of the best trade persons I have ever worked with.

Not so badly. When Alex turned it on there was no pressure to speak of. This after a summer of performing nicely, if expensively. Alex made a number of suggestions to improve the situation which in aggregate cost a lot more than just winterizing. We did implement them. Wether they will be worth the expense cannot be determined until next year. If they reduce my total cost for irrigation through more efficient water utilization, I will be happy. The proof will be in the pudding.

All our request were fulfilled.

One of our irrigation zones had strangely stopped working. Alex came over right away, tracked down the cut wire (a termite bait trap had been installed right through the wire), and repaired it within minutes. Alex has become our go to guy to set up our irrigation system and troubleshoot any issues. His knowledge of all the plants, grass, and shrubs is truly amazing, especially how he translates that knowledge to the proper set up of an irrigation system to optimally water everything and minimize the use of water.

Alex is a great guy... In the peak of their season, he checked entire system, replaced 15 sprinkler heads that were broken or leaking as well corrextimg some other issues. Performs quality work and have no issues recommending him.

An outstanding experience overall. Alex Irrigation is an extremely professional organization and we have used them twice now to help optimize our lawn irrigation needs. I will not use anyone else going forward as they are terrific. I would highly recommend to anyone.

The job was done quickly and everything worked the first time.

Excellent! Alex fixed the problem with a new master control valve, re-did the PVC piping as the previous job was not done "smartly", and instructed me to open the valve after the glue dried. I didn't want to force it and when I tried to turn it on nothing happened. Alex came out to do it correctly it at no charge. I would highly recommend Alex Irrigation to anyone!!!

This started out as just a repair job, but then I decided to move some sprinkler heads to better locations, and to add new sprinkler heads to cover new areas. I ultimately decided to replace all existing sprinkler heads (they were 15 years old), and I added about 20 new sprinkler heads. I could tell from the design of the new sprinkler heads that they would use much less water than what I had, and they were easier for the homeowner to adjust. With the new sprinkler heads, there was much tighter control of where the water went (the old sprinkler heads watered have the street). Alex really knows his business, and what impressed me the most was a special tool he had to lay new water lines without tearing up the yard. If you looked at the yard once he was done, you could not tell where the new water lines were buried. The only tell-tale signs of work were where he installed new sprinkler heads. I also had him replace the old consumer-grade water timer with a commercial grade one. Essentially, I got an all new sprinkler system that wasted less water, and covered shrubs as well as the lawn. I would definitely hire Alex again. I chose him based on previous Angie's list reviews, and I'm glad that I did.

Alex arrived at my home on very short notice, assessed the problem right away and was able to complete the repair all in one visit. I found him to be very professional and candid as to the condition of the system. He will be doing some follow-up services at a later date.
