Overall Great! We already looked at the house and loved it, but of course every house some concerns when buying. We arrived and Dusty was already prepared to walk around with us. He made the experience fun and informative which made us feel at ease with the house and the purchase itself. He even provided suggestions for any issues that will happen over time with wear and tear. Overall This was an awesome experience and will use The BrickKicker again for our future houses. Hopefully with Dusty as our inspector as well!

We met the home inspector from The BrickKicker Athens, Dennie Baird, at the house we are interested in purchasing in Jefferson. He was punctual, and we were able to follow him around through the whole inspection process. He was VERY thorough, and did a great job in every respect. When we had questions, he answered them clearly. We learned a lot! The complete inspection report was available online later the SAME DAY! The report was very detailed, included lots of pictures,and pointed out everything we need to be repair, replace, or otherwise address. It was a very positive experience, and we would recommend Dennie Baird, and The BrickKicker Athens, to anyone in search of a good home inspector.

The inspector ( Dusty) was very knowledgeable, friendly and took time to answer all of my questions. After I received the report I called him to ask a few questions about his report and he called me right back. He took time to answer my questions and explain anything I didn't understand.

Awesome. The Inspector, James, was extremely professional and was very patient and helpful in explaining any issues he found. I highly suggest getting pest, radon & mold inspection which are additional costs but worth peace of mind if purchasing a home. The Pest inspectors contracted by Brickkickers in Athens, Arrow Exterminators, were great as well. We are new to Georgia and Adam was very helpful in explaining 'pest issues' common in Georgia. From my first enquiry, all involved were extremely responsive, punctual and professional. 5 stars.

Mike and team spent hours reviewing the property from top to bottom and they were extremely thorough in the approach, their communication and their reporting. I have participated in a number of inspections over the years and I have NEVER seen this level of professionalism in the past. Any piece of real estate I purchase going forward will need to have their blessing. In a business where trust is hard earned, I trust them completely!

Mike and his assistant Patsy showed up as scheduled.  Both performed their services with the utmost professionalism.   They spent a significant amount of time really looking the house over for any issues.  As the house was a foreclosure purchase I really appreciated the extra attention given while completing the inspection.  i would definitely use them again.

Mike conducted the inspection in the morning. Before I went to bed for the night, his complete, very detailed report (with pictures) was in my inbox for perusal. I know exactly which next steps to take and how to proceed based on his results. I am extremely grateful for the prompt action, detail and pictures(!).

Mike was awesome! Not only did he gladly let me tag along for the entire inspection, he answered all my questions intelligently, and even let me follow him up onto the roof. Mike actually provided me with an extra set of coveralls and gloves so I could go with him under the crawlspace. Unbelievably, he kept his cool after crawling over a giant nest filled with opossums that was hidden under the moisture barrier. He not only finished the inspection, he actually went back to get a picture of the nest for the inspection report! As has been noted in other reviews, he is more than thorough, and identified several serious items that needed to be addressed in the home that I wouldn't have seen on my own. Rather than gloss over potential problem areas in the home to soothe the buyer, as happened to me in my last home inspection, he was simply straightforward about the areas that needed work, and which were potential safety issues that needed to be addressed. This guy earned his fee and then some! I'll be recommending him to all my friends and family who are purchasing homes in the area.

In our first contact with BrickKicker of Athens, we were very pressed for time. Our offer was unexpectedly accepted on a Friday night and because we were away from home, I didn't even start looking for an inspector until Monday, with three days of our 10-day due diligence period already gone. I spoke with Colleen in Jared's office, who was very knowledgeable and helpful. She was able to set up an almost immediate inspection so that we would have all the reports a couple of days before the end of the due diligence period.

Jared did an outstanding job with the inspection. He is extremely thorough, very professional, and responsive to needs and questions. If you have a question or concern, the best way to contact him is via email. He replies quickly and will call if something needs to be discussed.

Jared shows up on time and produces a very detailed home inspection report overnight, complete with photographs of problem areas which prove very useful in working with contractors. The radon and air quality tests take a couple of extra days because he sets up the test equipment on his inspection visit and then has to go back a day or two later to pick up the samples and get them to a lab. But the reports are thorough and professional, and his recommendations are very much worth following.

For example, in the first house he did for me, he found that the chimney was clogged and recommended service by a certified chimney sweep. I didn't even know there was such a thing, but the chimney sweep had the right equipment to remove the clog without blasting ash all over the house. If I'd tried to fix the problem myself or have an untrained handyman do it, we would have made a mess.

The lady I rented to has a child who is sensitive to air quality, so both the air quality report and the chimney sweep proved to be good investments. If I hadn't had the chimney professionally serviced, I don't even want to think about the problems that might have occurred. And when the tenant started asking me whether there were any mold problems in the house, I just sent her a copy of Jared's air quality report and the matter was settled.

For the house we just bought for ourselves, Jared was again available for an inspection early in the due diligence period, so I have had time to review his results and make the right decision about proceeding. I'm to the point where I trust him so much that I don't need to be present during the inspection and don't even have to worry about that. I know he'll do the same thorough and conscientious job whether I'm there or not.

He has some testimonials on his website. I wrote one of them after our first experience with him. The other testimonials match up well with my experience with him. He is easily the best home inspector I've ever used, and in purchasing rental properties or homes in California, Maryland, Virginia and Georgia, I've dealt with quite a few.

Jared Marsden arrived early for the inspection and began the visual inspection of the exterior. When I arrived he allowed me to accompany him while explaining everything he was checking for, why he was checking for it, and possible solutions to any problems found. He was incredibly thorough, getting down in the crawl space with a snake, walking around on the roof, and walking through the furthest extents of the attic, documenting everything he found with photos and notes. He took his time investigating possible problems, for example splashing water over cracked tile to check for water leaks below. He was very knowledgable, and was excellent at explaining foreign concepts. The inspection lasted about 3.5 hours, and I received the full report (with photos) via email the same day as the inspection. He was very polite and professional, and I will always use him in the future. I will definitely recommend the BrickKicker to everyone I know!
