I feel that they're expensive compared to doing the oil change myself or a quick lube facility.

It was a slightly longer wait than anticipated. They had to do some service on the brakes, but the car only had 15,000 miles on it. I don't think a car with 15,000 miles should need the brakes fixed, but the service was good.

I've been to the dealership numerous times over the past 5 years. I bought my car from them (used, they ironically sold the car to the previous owner as well when it was new). I drive a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. Their prices are too high for services, but what else would you expect from a dealership? I had my oil changed at Jiffy Lube a few months ago, and they used the wrong weight. Ever since that, I've taken my car to the dealership. It's expensive, but kinda worth the piece of mind that its being done right.
However, about a month ago I took my car there for a general tune-up. One of the areas they check was my tires. They gave them the "green check" on the sheet. That night, as I was half way to Charleston, SC from Athens, GA, the tread on one of my tires completely blew off. The tire itself somehow stayed inflated, but the tread was completely gone - blew off leaving the wires and innner casing exposed. Do not trust them to "inspect" your car properly.
Otherwise, I've taken my vehicle there for general maintenance, and it's been ok.

I arrived at the service center on a Friday and they were very quick to evaluate that my alternator needed replacing. The problem was they didn't have one on hand for my vehicle and since it was Labor Day weekend wouldn't be able to get one for me until the following Wednesday. I had to rent a car for the long weekend and it was a bit of a hassle. They are not the cheapest service but they have always been efficient and very kind. I often times get my larger check ups done there but again, I think they are a bit too pricey.

Engine would not start most of the time. I had it towed to Hughes Honda from Commerce Ga. to Athens. They kept the car for two days, repaired the immobilizer unit and told me the erg lite was on and it would eventually stall the car and if I replaced the part while I was there, it would save me money. I am very satisfied with their work..

Checked vehicle for recalled item and replaced the part as needed. The service was very fast, must faster than expected, even knowing it was a minor repair. Waiting area was very pleasant. Employees very courteous.

I began taking my Honda to Phil Hughes in 2007 after I purchased it . For the first couple of years, I received nothing short of exceptional customer service and felt good about taking my vehicle here. The service technicians always went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of and also resolved a couple of minor issues (interior trim clip broken, adjusted trunk latch) free of charge just because I inquired how to repair them myself. The customer service began to go downhill in late 2009.
I noticed routine services taking longer and the courteousness of the service department diminishing. The only reason I continued taking my car there is because I felt the quality of work was still great and I had already established a long term relationship with the business. They began telling me that my tires were "hazardous" to keep driving on and quoted me an OUTRAGEOUS price for tires. I asked a few of my family members to visually inspect the tires with me since I felt all of us have a good understanding of general car maintenance and what to look for when it is time to replace tires. Everyone's opinion was the tires were fine and still had a good bit of wear left to them. This was in 2010. The tires are still on my vehicle and I had the vehicle professional serviced last week and the tires were rotated and balanced and they checked out fine. They are 70,000 mile tires and Phil Hughes started pressuring me to purchase tires at 50,000 miles. They did this the last couple of times I went there. They also told me my battery failed the charge test and they were going to install one for $125. They seemed very disgruntled when I declined the service and told them I would install a new one myself that day. The last problem was my airbag light came on and would not go off. I consulted my owner's manual and a couple of websites and determined it was the seat belt tensioner. It states in all Honda vehicle manuals that any issues with the seat belts, safety system or related parts are covered with a lifetime warranty from Honda. I made an appointment with Phil Hughes and they said they were going to run a diagnostic test on the car to ensure it was the tensioner. When I arrived, the technician I checked in with said it would be $90 for the test. I questioned why would I be paying for the test when any issues arise with the seat belts to the car they are covered under the warranty. He then informed me that if it was an issue with the saftey system then it would be covered. It only seems logical that the airbag light would be on if there was a problem with the safety features of the car. I told him to go ahead with the test but I wanted to speak to the manager since a Honda dealership was going to charge me for a service that is covered under a Honda lifetime warranty. He quickly ran the test and told me it was in fact the tensioner, so there were no charges for the service. I didn't request for the manager again since I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I felt that he tried to take advantage of me and since I am an informed customer once again they were not able to pocket extra and unnecessarily spent money from me.

We had narrowed our search down to two car models. I test drove a CR-V at Phil Hughes, met sales rep, Richard, but wanted to drive some other CR-V's I had seen online. I drove a car at another local dealership, and the sales rep there started hounding me with calls. After a couple of weeks, my husband and I went back and drove the CR-V again. Phil Hughes had very recently gotten another in on trade, the exact same but with a sunroof. (I mean pretty much exactly the same.) It was so recent, they hadn't had a chance to detail it. Richard let us test drive it anyway and gave us a great deal on it, so we bought it that day.

They are excellent. I am driving a used car now but I will buy a new car from them as soon as I can afford it. The service department is also excellent. I always got a good deal on the purchase and I felt like the maintenance was very reasonable. I don’t think they ever tried to sell me something that I didn’t need.
