LOWE'S

We are not happy with the progress Lowes is making on our bathroom renovation. Lowes requires full payment before work is started. OK, I paid them $10,000.00. Lowes forgot to order a critical part: a vanity top. They had the contractor begin the job without the vanity, got the bathroom completely torn apart, and had to stop work because the vanity is missing (it is of a critical dimension, and needs to be in hand for the job to progress further). It has been a week since the bathroom was demolished, and since then nothing can be done UNTIL the vanity top arrives. We have been given three or four dates for the arrival of this vanity top, but it has not arrived. Lowes says we just have to wait --- somehow this hardware giant cannot get a part delivered, or tell when, exactly, it eventually will be delivered. Most recently, we were told we'll have to wait at least another three days. In the meantime, they have our money, and we have a wrecked bathroom. BTW to speak with Lowes project managers, you have to wade through phone trees, which is annoying. The problem here is not the contractor, who is trying hard to make things happen: the problem is with Lowes.
