The friend loved the flower arrangement

I ordered flowers from a large national floral delivery company with whom I have dealt dozens of time. I wanted a specific color combo, "happy" or "bright" colors, of tulips with a "Get Well" message for a woman having a serious operation. Friday, as ordered, they were delivered. I was embarrassed, to say the least, when I saw the delivered item. Some tulips were fully open, so would be lasting only 2-3 days. Some were really droopy. The colors were, let's say, funeral colors--ugly off white, ghastly dull burgundy. The raffia bow was just ratty looking--stringy, poorly tied. The card read "Happy Birthday", as did the balloon (not ordered). The recipient was visibly unhappy. I am, too. I called this local florist, and she read to me the correct info from her computer from my original order, and said she was mystified. She also, to her credit, said they would do whatever I wanted but for me to call the national number. She knew, I'm sure, that the national group would credit me so she wouldn't have to deal with it. I called national, and they more than satisfied me, and said they would immediately call the local company. But, really, anyone filling an order should double check information I would think. I guess someone in the area got a "Get Well" arrangement for their birthday! With no balloon! No pride in their arrangements, for sure. Our names were correct on the card, by the way. I will never use this local florist again.
