This shop is the only one in our area that has an old diagnostic computer that works on my 1995 VW Eurovan camper with a 5 cylinder audi engine. The owner has a special interest in audi engines and is very familiar with this model. When the van was towed in I asked him to find and fix whatever the starting problem was and to generally check it over for a long trip we planned on taking. He is very thorough and keeps excellent notes every time I take it in so he and I both know what to keep an eye on.
Parts were $122, materials $10 and labor $336 for a total bill of $477.
Upon test driving it he discovered that the engine didn't downshift going up hills. He let me know about this which was helpful in that I had some concerns about taking it through the mountains. 
When I purchased this camper van over a year ago I had trouble finding anyone in this area who had worked on such an old engine. I feel fortunate to have found such a good service provider for my old camper van and one who still has a diagnostic computer that works with it.
