The day of the move four guys showed up. They were on time and very polite but only two worked hard. One complained constantly about how much he hated moving and barely worked. At the end of ten hours, they scratched the piano, severely scratched and dented our stainless steel refrigerator, broke two desks, broke a glass table top, and stacked heavy boxes marked 'books' on top of ones marked fragile, crushing the bottom boxes. We showed them where to put items and even wrote on the boxes clearly (e.g., "bathroom" "bedroom" "kitchen" etc.), but they stacked all the boxes in the garage. When my husband talked to her on Monday to resolve the issue, asking for only $300 compensation, she refused offering $100. She was rude, defensive, minimized the damage and dismissed the complaint as exaggerated. Then she hung up on him.

Pictures are worth a THOUSAND words. While I do not dismiss the fact that there were minor damages, the accusation that my movers broke “everything” is totally untrue. My men worked very hard for 9.5 hours with only one 45 minute break, in 90 degree weather moving two full loads of furniture in a 26 foot truck with no air conditioning, to get these customers safely into their new home. In all that time they never even offered them so much as a bottle of water. The extent of the damage was a one inch scratch on the edge of the piano, a particle board desk drawer already held together with masking tape fell out and broke a $4.00 plastic handle, the refrigerator doors had to be removed to get it out of the house and a four inch scratch was noted on one of the doors, and last was a small piece of glass off a wicker patio table. I had asked the customers not to put anything glass on the truck that was not wrapped on a confirmation email I send every customer when they book their move. The glass could have easily gone in one of their own vehicles but the customer [member name removed] insisted it go unwrapped in the cargo area. Also, [member name removed] asked my movers to stack ALL boxes in the garage and before they left they asked was everything in the proper place and they were told by the customers yes, it was all where it needed to be. The total move took a total of 9.5 hours but did not actually start until 45 minutes later due to the truck not being ready and [member name removed] being late, deduct 45 minutes for lunch and then 20 minutes driving to the new location (twice) and 30 minutes driving to haul off to Goodwill and load and unloading two 26 foot truckloads of furniture there is absolutely no way only 2 men worked hard. My lead mover would not have allowed anyone to not work. According to U-Haul’s historical data graph (found on U-Haul.com) that is taken from over 15,000 moves, the average time for (ONE) 26’ truck to be loaded and unloaded is 7.75 hours with three movers. The fact that they gave them an $80.00 tip is very hypocritical of the complaints they raise. I offered to pay the $110.00 for these damages, far more than the value of the repairs. Additionally, I did NOT charge for the 90 minute round trip to Lawrenceville from Athens at $187.50, the normal piano moving fee of $250.00, the haul- off fee to Goodwill at $35.00 or the extra time my men worked on their lunch hour at $31.25. [member name removed] have refused my $110.00 and have chosen to be vindictive instead. They have continuously gone on every site I advertise and maliciously post bad reviews against the company I have worked so hard to build, attempting to prevent me from earning a living. The attempt to hack into my business email account and Facebook account has been reported to the police and the FBI via IC3 and will be dealt with on a criminal level. The libel assault against my character and business ethics points to an absolute malicious purpose libel suit and will be handled in civil court by my attorneys. As owner of this company I am not going to take the seriousness of their actions lightly and this will all be handled with the proper judicial system. (Dee)
