I put in for local tow services and they were at top of list, called and male I talked with wasn't very friendly to begin with!  Told him where car was to be towed from and  to, and he came back and said it was to far out of area, stating it was over 20miles from there location to pickup?? Alpharetta to Woodstock (which borders Alpharetta) and then drop off location was 10miles farther (actually only 5miles per google maps and my odometer) the drop off location is in Acworth which is a large area, but part I was having it dropped of was right on Woodstock border, he didn't want to work, and see that!
This is my first attempt at using Angie's List, and not real impressed!

All the other towing companies were quoting higher rates and long lead times. United was on Angies list and was also the company my brother in laws garage has been using for years, 2 endorsements is good for me !
Driver called 20-30 minutes ahead of time so I could meet him. He looked things over and said he could tow it. From the rear without having to pull the drive shaft. Very confidant and friendly guy.
Many towing companies couldn't tow a 5 ton truck, United treated me right !

The dispatcher asked all the right questions about my vehicle to make sure I got the right kind of truck, and estimated the driver would arrive within 30-40 minutes. Matt arrived 25 minutes later and after a friendly hello he quickly set about rigging my truck for towing. He was professional and made polite conversation as he went about his work. The trip to the mechanic took about 20 minutes, and despite some traffic he was still in good spirits when we arrived. When the mechanic asked him to move my truck to a different parking area he obliged with a smile and no extra charges or hidden fees. Definitely my go-to towing company in the Atlanta area from now on!

It went well regarding the service. The service guy's name was Derek. When we got to the auction, it was a complete and total nightmarish , disorganized mess at every turn. Derek was patient and helpful while the process with the auction people dragged on. Dealing with the auction was a complete mess. Derek even interceded at times to assist me in re-acquiring my car as well as getting it thorough their security debacle.
Derek then towed my car through a mess of traffic to the repair shop. He remained cheery and friendly throughout the entire extended process. At the end I was expecting an upcharge to add to the continuing frustration of this day. There was no upcharge and he wouldn't even accept a tip.
Not only would I use this service again, as well as request the same service guy, but I will recommend this service to any friend or family member I hear in need of a towing service.
This is the second time I used this service with positive results.

The service provider showed up about 45 minutes later than the time I was told he would arrive. However, after that the service provider, Lucas, safely towed my car to the intended location with no issue. Further, when we arrived at the destination, we were told to go to a different drop off point three times. Each time, Lucas drove to the new drop off point with no issues and in a friendly manner, without argument or demonstration of dissatisfaction.
The cost seemed slightly on the higher end, but we did have an exceptionally long drive and all worked out very well.
One additional point was that no other provider I contacted prior to contacting one on Angie's List was able to tow my car at the time I needed. I am also very pleased with my choice to contact Angie's List and will do so any time I need services offered on this website.
I would not only use this service again, but would also recommend the provider to anyone else in need of this type of service.

Arrived when they said they would with the proper equipment for the very low profile car, arrived at shop promptly.

Towed approximately 50 miles to dealership for scheduled repair work

My wife's car would not start. It was parked in some parking deck with very low clearance.
The lady on the phone was very friendly and very detail-oriented. The towing truck came quite promptly. Ricky the tow truck driver is a great professional and did everything he could to get our car out of parking deck. Because of the low clearance of the parking, tow truck going inside the parking deck proved to be impossible. Ricky tried to jump start the car with his jump start battery device. Unfortunately, our car did not respond to the jump start. Ricky then pushed the car from level 3 to level 1 with my help and my wife at the steering wheel inside the car. At the exit of the parking building, the space is very tight. Ricky was able to maneuver the tow truck and tow away our car. It was all in all some how a difficult job because of the circumstances. Ricky was great with customer service, always considerate and resourceful. I highly recommend United Towing.

The first driver dispatched was new to the company and unfamiliar with all of the equipment on the truck. The second fellow was much more knowledgeable and, after extending the cable to the max, added several lengths of additional chain to secure the car and bring it gently up the drive and onto his truck. This driver took a 7-mile, "back road" route - safely - to my destination and saved extra miles and charges. There was an additional fee for the extra winching but not unreasonable. This was assessed at the destination and added $25.00 to the tow.
