I found Doug working at one of my neighbors houses and I stopped by to get his card. While his specialty is the care and maintenance of fine solid wood doors like oak and mahogany, he is able to work on other doors. That is what I needed. My back door leading onto my back porch has always had a mis-alignment and does not seal properly. This is an efficiency problem for me as I can feel lots of cold drafty air coming in around the edges of this door in the winter. I have twice tried to fix it by adjusting the hinges and beefing up the weather stripping, but he had a better idea and within about five minutes had moved the strikeplate to a new position that forced the door to a position where it contacts the weather stripping all the way around. I will gladly call him to perform the bigger installation of my new front door when we take on that project in the fall while it is cooler.
