I hired Jose to do weekly lawn maintenance to include trimming, edging and bush/shrub pruning. He gave me a price of $180/month for maybe 1/2 acre of lawn. The initial work went well. The bushes had been well overgrown and he charged me a one time fee to get them under control. Fine. Work was done as agreed. Clipping from shrubs were dumped back in a wooded area of my property which was never discussed. I was having a large load of mulch delivered which I bought myself and asked Jose if he could spread it and for what cost. He said he's bring his guys and chage $20/hr. The work was done with 4-5 extra guys helping Jose out. My fist bill comes for June's service and I see $180 for the normal monthly maintenance - the bushes were not trimmed or pruned once in the month - and they do need it. The cost for spreading mulch was $20/hr - which is what I agreed to but then he multiplid that # by the # of extra workers he broght out. That was NEVER previously mentioned. I called his cell # on Tuesday to discuss. Not only did he not return my call but he did not mow my lawn that day which is our designated day and he did come to do the next door neighbor. I called his office and cell # again today. His daughter, Isabella called me back to talk to me about it. Said the $20/hr/head IS more than he usually charges. She said he would come out to talk to me about it. I just spoke with him about the bill and the fact that the bushes were not touched in about 6 weeks. He now says that he will only trim the bushes about 3 times per year. I asked why they haven't been touched in about 6 weeks and he answered that he is very busy. We discussed the bill, he thought it was fair, I certainly do not since it ws not what he said he would provide. I paid him but I am done with his service.
