Dedicated to the practice of fine design, Old Castle Home Design Center has been designing and renovating buildings of quality and distinction for many years. Old Castle Home Design Center was started with the aspiration of becoming the best design and renovation company in Eastern and Southeastern areas. Since that time our office has reworked and redeveloped the perception of architectural design as well as new methods of building renovation to restore the artistic aspect of architectural design back to the community. For years, many factors caused architectural design to stagnate, especially in the residential field. Old Castle Home Design Center has been one of only a handful of local design firms that pushes the limits of design and creativity with a vision toward the future. We have developed an experienced and educated team to provide our clients with the best possible design for the individual needs of their project. Poorly. Old Castle exceeded the one month estimate and completion took 3 1/2 months. They exhibited poor communication skills, were unresponsive and careless, significantly damaging our existing bathroom vanities, kitchen cabinets, kitchen sink and failed to cover our outdoor terrace, left caked up cement and adhesives on the surface which therefor needs repair/repainting. We eventually agreed a resolution with them but they did not do any of the agreed repairs to our vanities. We have never posted a negative review on social media but strongly recommend that you select a different contractor.

I recommend Old Castle Home Design Center.
A bit of an introduction might help to set the stage. Our home is 27 years old and we are the original owners. The home had ?home depo? quality cabinetry and fixtures that were original. But we plan to stay here for the duration so we decided to move directly to the Wolf/Subzero level of appliances and equivalent cabinetry, fixtures, and bathroom flooring. Our prior remodeling experience had consisted of hiring painters on a couple of occasions. We were complete neophytes who were dependent on getting advice from experts.
We did get good advice and we are delighted with the final product. In our family the breakdown of the ?wants? was that the kitchen was the husband?s and the bathroom was the wife?s. But recently I, the husband, came to really appreciate the bathroom. We travel a bit and that is where we got some ideas that eventually were incorporated into the final design. For example, a ?rain? style shower head and travertine walls and flooring. We recently returned from a couple of trips that we took, post-construction, and I was really looking forward to getting back to our bathroom. Our showerhead and shower space are so much nicer than anything we had encountered on our trips. And that was not an easy accomplishment. One ?defect? in our existing bath that could not corrected was its size. But Old Castle managed to maximize the use of our space.
We got a bit of advice during the planning process that I really appreciate more each day. I wanted to put a pot rack above my island, like I had been using for 25 years. Instead, I was advised to install suspended accent lights above the island. As a compromise we installed deep upper level cabinetry with glass doors and sliding hanging racks. I just love the way my pans look inside those cabinets. Not to mention that the accent lights above the island are absolutely beautiful.
The process, like any project of this magnitude, was not flawless, but Babak, Old Castle?s principal, corrected the defects. For example, we had selected glass front cabinets, but when the cabinetry arrived most of the doors that were supposed to be glass were solid wood. Babak got the correct doors shipped on an expedited basis. Allow me a little segue. If you are debating whether or not to get glass front cabinets, perhaps worrying about them looking messy, I strongly recommend the glass. We absolutely love the way our kitchen looks with just the cabinet and accent lighting on. We turn those lights on when we awake and turn them off when we go to bed. We just love seeing them as we come and go.
One major issue arose after construction was finished. We had installed a fancy claw foot tub. Well my wife actually uses the tub to relax in the evenings. That fancy bathtub just was not deep enough to soak and relax in. Making a long story short, we did the research that we should have done in the first place and selected a tub, designed for soaking, but was not among the lines that Babak normally installs. Due to a confluence of snafus, replacing the tub turned out to be hardest part of the entire project. But Babak got it done and my wife could not be happier.
Babak stays engaged and has close relationships with the tradesmen that he employs. It makes for a fairly smooth process. I want to say a word about price. I gave Old Castle an ?A? on price. But in all honesty, you should take that with a grain of salt. We had no remodeling experience and, thus, no basis on which to judge price. We felt that the product we received was worth the price we paid.

Babak was wonderful from the first time we met him until the job was completed. He was patient, kind, prompt and respectful of our time throughout the entire process. His crew was the same way. We changed a few things along the way and he never got rattled. He did everything we ask him to do and more. We felt that there was a lot of care given in protecting our home so that nothing got damaged during the remodel process. We had natural stone installed on the floor, shower and walls. So much care was given in making sure all the pieces fit together and looked nice. We plan to remodel our kitchen in the future and will not waste anytime looking elsewhere.

We did our Kitchen with Old Castle Home Design center last year. We love it! Design is spectacular. We asked them to do our bathroom renovation last winter, which we are very pleased with the result. The owner is a gentleman and very passionate about what he is doing, also very trustworthy. I refer this company to anybody in town for any type of remodeling! We remodeled our Kitchen by Old Castle Home Design Center before. We were pleased and happy with the design, quality of the material and installation. Our Kitchen looks amazing. We asked Babak ( the owner ) and his team to design and remodel our Master Bathroom. As we expected they did an excellent job. I have seen many bathrooms in my neighborhood but our Bathroom is a master peace. Babak is an artist. They create a bathroom which I always dreamed. We couldn't be happier.
They are very professional and they were able to finish our project 1 week sooner than we were expecting. We had couple of issues with our water supply lines and shower base which they fixed them free of charge.

The owner Babak is the key. He truly wants excellence in all his projects and takes all possible measures to insure that excellence.. It begins with his showroom which is filled with high quality options and ends with constant follow up to be sure I remain pleased with all work performed. He cares! I've used many contractors over the years but none have the qualities possessed by Babak.... Integrity. Honesty. Capability. In any project,issues will arise. The question becomes, how easily are they resolved. Babak has exceeded my expectation in this regard whether it's a few floorboards that seemed out of the norm, (he immediately replaced them ) or a faucet issue. (He personally corrected the problem.)

our neighbor did their Kitchen remodeling with Old Castle Home Design Center and they were happy with the design, installation and the quality of the cabinetry. We have looked many places in order to find the right products for our Kitchen remodeling project. It was a very stressful process for us. we were not sure if all materials (cabinets, Counter top, appliances, Backslash and new flooring) from several different vendors could create the look we were looking for. We went to Old Castle Home Design Center and were able to find what we were looking for under one roof. They do have architect and designer in their design firm. They were able to make the design process easy for us and we were able to find the right materials for our project. The owner (Babak)is passionate for what they are doing. we have enjoyed working with them and we love our new Kitchen. The project experience and the result is wonderful.

We were pleased with the design and the finished product. We even added a job of re-tiling our foyer floor which they did a beautiful job on. It blends so well with the surrounding existing floors. We stayed on budget for the entire job.

It went very well, from the kitchen design to the final product. I was very impressed with everything. I was told by another firm that was charging $110000 for the work we wanted that there is no way they would do the job for $75K and that Olde Castle would probably do a bad job. They were wrong and I saved a ton of money.

We enjoyed working with designer, Luis Ferandez, and we are thrilled with the design. We are also pleased with the product selected, but we are extremely disappointed with the installation, especially the installation of the cabinets. We began with a budget of $15,000, but the end cost of the project was over $30,000. We did not get what we negotiated for and agreed upon. We were told that the work would take two weeks to complete, it took over two months. The owner was fairly responsive to our phone calls; the complaints were addressed, but not resolved. Some of the installers were professional, others were not. We would not recommend Old Castle Design Center to other Angie?s List members.

"we have designed and priced [member name removed] Bathroom project at $ 22500.00 with the information he provided to us. we were not aware of the electrical and plumbing issues.At the starting date of the project he told us if [member name removed] use hair dryer in the bathroom and [member name removed] watch TV in the bedroom the circuit breaker in electric panel will shot off the power he asked us to upgrade the master-bedroom and master bathroom electrical breakers. All bathroom outlets and bedroom outlets were connected to one 15 Amps circuit barker. we needed to upgrade their electric box and add additional circuit breakers and rewire their master bathroom. He asked us to redo all plumbing in order to increase their water supply lines from 1/2'' to 3/4''. We have done all above after [member name removed] agreed for the upgrade charges.There was a mistake from Cabinet manufacturer to produce the vanities with laminated drawer which they have replace them immediately."
