Absolutely the worst customer service! 15 months to get a spa cover when he said it would take 6-8 weeks. Honestly I thought I got ripped off, in reality it's was my patience was stolen.. I will never ever recommend this company!!! Stay far away! If I can give no star would be better!!! Daniel Wolfgang is not a person to trusted!!!

This letter formally addresses a complaint concerning negligent repair services performed by Daniel C. Wolfgang, operating under My Spa Works and HydroTech Spas. Summary of Events: On March 29, 2024, a service appointment was scheduled to repair a hot tub, with a $175 service fee paid upfront. An additional $758.80 was charged for motor replacement and installation, which was presented as a complete, professional repair. The new motor failed shortly after installation. Upon returning to inspect, Mr. Wolfgang admitted that the wiring had been installed incorrectly. Despite this, the spa remained inoperable. A follow-up inspection by a licensed technician from Georgia Spa Company confirmed that the incorrect wiring caused a catastrophic pump failure, rendering the spa inoperable due to safety shutdown protocols. This diagnosis was supported by video evidence. During a three-way speakerphone call between the customer, Mr. Wolfgang, and technician Allen from Georgia Spa Company, Allen clearly outlined the damage and cause. Despite being confronted with this, Mr. Wolfgang refused responsibility and instead blamed the customer. Legal and Consumer Protection Concerns: The situation constitutes potential violations of Georgia law, regardless of any 30-day limited warranty referenced by Mr. Wolfgang: Unfair or Deceptive Practices (O.C.G.A. § 10-1-390): Improper installation and denial of responsibility constitute deceptive trade practices. Implied Warranty of Workmanlike Performance: Georgia law mandates that services be performed with proper skill. Faulty wiring and resulting equipment failure violate this obligation. Breach of Contract (O.C.G.A. § 9-3-24, § 9-3-26): Paid-for services were not properly rendered, breaching both express and implied agreements. Evidence of a Pattern: Multiple negative reviews on Angi/HomeAdvisor point to a broader pattern of similar complaints. More than 25% of reviews are rated one star, contributing to a 72% overall rating. Despite this, the business continues to be endorsed by Angi. There is concern over the validity of early five-star reviews due to suspiciously repetitive language and review timing, suggesting possible manipulation to counterbalance negative feedback. Resolution Requested: To resolve this dispute fairly and avoid further escalation, the following refund is requested: Initial Service Fee $175.00 Motor Replacement & Installation $758.80 Diagnostic Fee from Georgia Spa Company $217.71 Total: $1,151.51 Refund may be sent via PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp (checks will not be accepted). As an alternative, if a full refund is denied, a partial resolution involving payment of $1,005.24 (the quoted cost by Georgia Spa Company for repairs) is acceptable. Next Steps if Unresolved: If no response or resolution is received within 10 business days, the following actions will be taken: Filing a formal complaint with the Georgia Consumer Protection Division Pursuing a small claims court case Publicly sharing the experience through consumer platforms to inform others

Daniel Wolfgang highly skilled professional. Over 30 years experience. Quickly diagnosed all the problems. Gave me a very fair price. Came back as promised and installed two new high quality pumps and new heater along with extra plumbing improvements. Can not recommend Daniel high enough. Old hot tub works like brand new. Very happy customer.

Daniel seemed like he was very experienced in hot tub repairs. On his first visit, he fixed the problem and noticed I needed a new hot tub cover. I paid him in cash up front as he insisted he needed in order to place the order (only way he could get a better price from his supplier). This was on 6/14/2024, I have been ignored, put off, and lied to repeatedly while trying to be patient. I guess my only recourse at this point is small claims court to get my money back. I will also try to file criminal charges since many people are reporting the same shady behavior from Daniel. DO NOT HIRE DANIEL.

I had a spa that was blowing fuses; prior to that, it wouldnâ t maintain its heat. It had been sitting unused for a few months before I decided to contact My Spa Works. Daniel came to assess the spa just before Thanksgiving. He quickly determined what was wrong with it. His matter-of-fact approach made me slightly nervous, but he was accurate. He explained that the motherboard was faulty and that there was a bad fuse in the breaker. He thoroughly showed me everything he discovered, even pulling up information about the necessary parts on his phone. A few parts were discontinued, and he informed me of the replacement options and the total cost of $1,400. During the holidays, I started to second-guess my decision to pay the full amount upfront, especially via Cash App, but I figured I would soon find out if my worries were unfounded. Daniel called me on Tuesday after Thanksgiving to let me know that the parts had arrived and that he could come on Friday to fix the spa if I were available. On Friday, he arrived promptly and started installing all the new components efficiently. In addition to the repairs, Daniel took the time to offer valuable tips on how to operate the spa for the best experience and longevity. He explained settings and maintenance practices that could enhance my enjoyment of the spa. By the end of the appointment, everything was functioning perfectly, just as he had promised. I couldnâ t be more satisfied with the service I received. Daniel is truly exceptional at what he does! If I encounter any issues with my spa in the future, I will definitely reach out to him again. Thank you, Daniel, for all your helpâ you truly are the spa Whisperer!

I actually forgot all about this organization. We moved to town in 2021, and my mom wanted to gift us a spa cleaning service so she called this guy Daniel - using my ANGI acc (which I forgot I even had) - and he took a required part, saying it was busted. We never received the part back. He cursed at my husband on speaker phone and changed his entire demeanor when I got on the phone (aka, my husband passed me the phone, still on speaker). It is 2024. Our spa is gross and still does not work because it is old and they do not make that part any longer. The fact that ANGI certifies this business is a huge red flag. There are better services out there, believe me. Go with a trusted and established source. 1.7 on Yelp. Do your research!

I ordered a hot tub cover in November of 2022. Over a year and a half later I never received the cover. Daniel Wolfgang said he would issue a refund multiple times but has failed to do so. Highly not recommended.

Daniel was the third repair company to take a look at my jacuzzi jett that was leaking badly. I had a bid as you as nearly $8,000 from one company that said I needed a whole new system. Daniel came out, surveyed the issue, and repaired it for a grand price of $175. You cannot find that kind of integrity and honesty nowadays. I would recommend him very highly.

My Spa Works saved me hundreds of dollars! When I told him my issue, he said most of the time it required a new motor... but he was pretty sure he could find a workaround in my case. And he did! The fix took about 20 minutes, and cost much less than a new motor would have.

Daniel a fast talker with his 37 yrs experience. Angi's List is where he got my number . I have read thru all these + 22 reviews on YELP and more BBB complaints unanswered and they describe him and his tactics to a T. I paid him to fix my hot tub system only 3 yrs old. immediately convinced me to buy a new circuit board after paying him $175 to come out. Then + $464 for the circuit board w only 90 day warranty that he happened to have on hand. ($250 online). Then it would not heat correctly so he came out in 15 min time TAPED SENSORS to the outside of the heater box (see pic). It wouldn't heat correctly for a few days then seemed to taper to an acceptable temp. Then 4/8/24 I had him come out because the system completely shut down and said heating element bad and asked for $50 more which I gave him for diagnosing new heater element gone bad. I said I know how to replace heater element I did it myself and put the sensors INSIDE the heater box where they are designed to function properly. Running fine for now. Heater element bad probably due to shoddy work taping sensors to outside of box. Makes NO SENSE was confirmed by 2 other hot tub techs that I should have hired instead of this shyster. it has been working fine since I replaced the heating element other than some false reading on the display board that occurring after he replace circuit board. I called him and asked why he taped the sensors to the outside of the spa and he said I have been doing this 37 years, I then asked if he had seen his reviews and he hung up on me.

"This man scheduled an appt asked for a circuit board and paid with a fraud check- he still hasn't paid in 2 months and refuses to return the circuit board- this man (Kim Heard) is a thief. This is why we may no longer accept checks in the future. - Daniel Wolfgang"

Daniel was fast and efficient, he really knows spas well. He came and discovered our initial issue immediately, and fixed it very quickly. Then, true to his word he charged his service fee plus the cost of the part that needed replacing. (which by the way was $1.50) I would definitely recommend My Spa Works!

Daniel did great work. It was a complicated project involving replacing two motors, two pumps, and addressing several leaks. He gave a fair quote, provided great replacement products and service. And, as a bonus, was able to accelerate the timeline in order to have the hot tub running before the Thanksgiving Break. Total professional, total expert and also just a good, decent person too!

Daniel previously did some work for us and was sporadic in his communication and follow through. He did help us move a hot tub and seemed knowledgable and so despite mixed feelings, we kept him in our phone book. Earlier this year, around May 2023, we contracted with him to buy a new hot tub cover and a few replacement jets. Itâ s now November and heâ s claiming we are harassing him and he will start charging us for our texts and phone calls (which have not been more than 1-2 times a month). Weâ ve remained patient, polite, and willing to take his word for many months. However, if you give some one $500-$600 you expect to get a product or your money back if they canâ t deliver. He gives us the same explanation every time. The product is coming, thereâ s a delay. He refuses to tell us his supplier and cannot commit to a date and sayâ s there is no maximum arrival date, just that it will come sometime. We asked for our money back several times and he told us he could only give us half as per the contract and that he would need to mail it. He argues that doesnâ t make enough margin on the product and that itâ s already ordered from the mysterious provider that he refuses (even if we were to cover up the supplier name at this point) to provide evidence/proof of purchase for the cover and he wonâ t get his money back if itâ s cancelled. We havenâ t been able to use our hot tub for almost half a year now because of this and he has either avoided our phone calls/texts or responded defensively. He has never contacted us first to provide any information or to explain whatâ s happening. As for the aforementioned contract, we donâ t remember having seen this and weâ ve probably asked 10 times for the contract but heâ s never sent it. We gave up awhile ago and asked him to just refund the half but he said he would send the money and it doesnâ t arrive. Whatever money you might think you might save with him is just not worth the risk and you will see many similar reviews on Better Business Bureau. We only wish we had seen these earlier. Do not work with Daniel and My Spa works. He is not reliable, he is uncommunicative, and does not follow through on his word. He is a scam artist bottom line and hopefully cannot continue getting these sorts of reviews. Weâ ve since filed a police report and are warning everybody we know about him. He will most likely respond to this review stating that he told us up front that there was a 6 month MINIMUM delay for the hot tub cover. Besides this being a non-sensical agreement with no deadline for giving us a product, itâ s also not true. We clearly remember that he said two months up front, and otherwise would never have agreed. Weâ ve called several companies and while some did have delays, the maximum we found was three months.
Response from

"This review is a fraud and the review should be removed- he received a full refund and we refused to do any additional business with them."
