I have taken my car there for the last five to eight years. I get a few free visits with my new car, so I don't need to pay. It was great, they always explain everything and very helpful.

These guys might do good work, but their customer service/accomodations leave a lot to be desired for.  If you work full time, you cannot schedule an oil change during lunch and last appointment is at 4PM, so that the guys can "go home." Don't we all?!  Plus I still hear some noise after the last work that was done and it is impossible to schedule a quick check up-service without working around their schedule

My Toyota Solara needed front & rear brakes, and a transmission fluid flush (every 50,000 miles, they recommend)  The work was performed expertly and quickly, and at a fair price.  They have been servicing my car for the past 5 years, and will not go anywhere else!

Change the oil and filter. I had set up an appointment date and time. The completed the work on time as agreed at a fair price. Additional I had an light indicating I had low tire pressure though when adding air the problem was not resolved. They concluded the problem was the gauge inside the tire. After they described how difficult the replacement process and how costly it would be I decided to live with the faulty indicator light. I appreciated their input.

JAPS had recommended this service last time I was in.  I was told how long it would take, and the estimate of completion time and price were spot on.

I have been taking our cars there forever and they are the most honest group of guys. They do what they have to do and are great. The owner told my son's girlfriend her car was in bad shape and that he needed to get rid of it. The owner, Jody, kept the car on his premises for a week and found a buyer for the car. I always take cars either we or our kids are looking to buy to the owner so he can inspect them before we make a purchase. Sometimes he would charge me about $50 for an inspection, other times he would not. I know he has saved my kids' lives by doing this. He is very trustworthy, but will not give the cheapest fix. They are not exorbitant, price wise and have given me peace of mind over the last years.  There are, maybe, 10 guys that work there. They took one of my sons to eat at a fast food restaurant one time while they were working on his car. That's the kind of people they are.

Turned out to be a problem with broken radiator fans that were trying to bring radiator temp down.  Another shop ( a good one, too) couldn't get to the root of the problem, but Tim and his team did within 24 hrs.
I'm very impressed with their diagnostic capability, especially with electrical systems.

Performed service as promised.  Also ruled out some issues raised by a tire vendor (will cover them in separate review).

Great!  Excellent service.  Good to be in a place that understood my Honda and how it runs!  Have tried two other shops and they didn't get close to fixing the problem.

***Their correct address since at least 2009 is: 369 Maxwell Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009; 770-740-0114.
I first brought my 2006 Solara in to them in 2009 and they explained that Toyotas took special "Toyota" coolant, which is used full strength since it is already diluted.  Since I hac not been doing that, they flushed the cooling system and installed the correct fluid.  They also recommended a transmission flush at every 50,000 miles, which I had them do.  They corrected a rattle that was becoming very annoying.
They explain what your vehicle needs, perform the work professionally and charge a reasonalbe price.

I had trouble cranking the car. They checked every part they possibly could and then asked to keep the car a couple of days if necessary and try cranking it under every circumstance possible and get to the root of the issue. It took 3 days but hey finally nailed it and replaced a small part of a part. They are absolutely the BEST! They know these cars inside and out!!

Brought in a 2006 PT Cruiser for engine skipping at idle (which another repair shop could not fix), replace the timing belt and do the 90,000 mile checkup.  They went so far as to advise me of other work (water pump) that should be done at same time as it would be much cheaper to do it now when the timing belt was removed than wait for it to fail in near future.  I confirmed this by Chrysler Internet advice.  Glad they gave advice rather than wait for a chance to bill again in the future  - thank you.  They also spent a lot of time determining that the valves were causing the problem in spite of the compression reading OK - and they showed us the burned valve when we came to pick up the car.  It did take a while to get all this work done but they were very patient with our calls to inquire how things were going.  The finished job makes the car run GREAT.  Also - the bill was a good deal less than their original estimates.  Never had that happen before!  It's so good to find a reliable, honest repair business who truly has the customer's best interests in mind.

I had bought my Camry new about 13yrs ago, and have always done regular maintenance.  I moved somewhat recently, and wasn't familiar with shops in the new area.  I had some needed work quoted at two other places, so I know the price at Japanese Automotive was comparable to other shops.  Upon reading reviews, I decided to give them a try.

First, I know they are trustworthy:  Before my last service (at a different shop), I knew I needed the transmission flushed.  But for some reason that shop didn't have the cost on the receipt, so I had assumed they forgot to do it.  So, when I took my car to Japanese Automotive recently, one of the items I mentioned to them was that I knew I needed a transmission flush.  But after dropping the car off, they quickly called me back to say that the transmission fluid looked new, so it didn't need changing.

They also quickly located the cause of a noise that my car had been making since it was 6months old.  Several other shops I had taken it to couldn't find the cause, but Japanese Automotive found it right away (related to the struts).

I knew my struts were due for replacement, so I asked them to take a look.  I figured they wouldn't have the parts on hand, but they did, and stated that even when they don't have something, they can usually get parts from nearby dealerships within 40min or so.

Long story short, my car feels like new again.... quiet, smooth ride.  And the guys at Japanese Automotive were very professional and helpful (gave me and my wife a ride to a restaurant while we waited), and everything was done much faster than I was expecting.

They are honest and they know what they are doing.  They say what they are going to do and they are informative if there is anything else that pops up.  I just drop off my car; it isn’t hard to get in there.

I can count on them; whole heartedly recommend them regularly, anytime, anywhere if needed and anywhere close to them. I haven't used them for quite a while but I still regularly recommend them. What I really liked about them was that, as a single woman at that time especially, I could go in there and they would take care of me. I had them at times saying, this is a repair which needs to be done but it is expensive and it doesn't have to be right now. They asked me to just keep an eye on it and told me they would tell me when I had to do that because I might want to sell the car before I had to do the repair. I just find that kind of honesty very valuable and their mechanic are hard to find. They are not the cheapest place out there ever and they are not the most expensive either. They are kind of on the upper middle end on price. They are always reliable on everything they ever did for me from brake work to engine work. They did it on time and in the price range they told me that it was going to be. They did always quality work. I've used them probably for four years. The only reason I stopped using them was because they primarily do Japanese models but not American models and they are further away from me now. They have done repairs that I couldn't even understand what it was. I absolutely would use them if I had a Japanese vehicle.

They always knew what was wrong, fixed it promptly and at minimal cost. Thier advice was honest and sincere, it always started with "If you were my daughter or my wife, this is what I would do".  If it was something that could wait until the next oil change, they would tell me so I could put it in my budget, ie: brakes, belts, or other big dollar items.  They inspected the whole car every time I had an oil change. It isn't every day you find professionsls like these to care for your car.  I have purchased another Japanese auto  for these guys to care for and know that it to will be cared exceptionally.

I have been using this place for a while. Now I have been very pleased. They do the job and do it right. They never ever overcharge me. They are friendly and fast about what they do but they do not rush. They take care of you as a customer and I really feel they are great.
