They were wonderful & very professional. I had a need to use cedar because the deck flows into the screened in porch and out to the raised walkway and we wanted it to match. They were willing to work with me and on the materials. Warning: They are very busy so you may have to wait but it is well worth it. Once they were able to set up the job, they were on time and completed the job, hauled away the debris and obtained the permit/inspection like clockwork. They feathered in the new cedar with the existing screen porch and the deck railings are beautiful, Their price was fair and I would hire them again.

Sent request for job estimate, received a reply suggesting I contact the tile guy direct, which I did. We set up an appointment and he never showed or called. I had to contact him thinking maybe he was caught in traffic. The appt was for 1pm, I contacted him at 145 on to have him respond by asking if he could reschedule for the next day at 10a. I don't know what kind of work he and/or his company does quality wise but clearly this guy is unprofessional and unreliable. I don't have time to waste. Or money!

Excellent. The deck and railings are beautiful, strong and secure. We went through two other deck companies who preferred not to bid on our deck because they felt I, as an architect, was too much of a perfectionist. I asked for fasteners to be lined up, not eyeballed, planks to end on joists and any splits or cracks in the materials to be replaced, among other things. Innovative Woodworks not only agreed to every request I made, but even went over and beyond by suggesting that they lower the platform at the bottom of my stairs to insure that all steps would be at the same elevation. (They even rebuilt the stairs.) I was very impressed, not only in their suggestion but the way they managed to make it happen. (I was a bit skeptical, but it came out perfect.) I also insisted that all railing be structurally sound and not yield in any way with horizontal loads up to 250 pounds (I definitely got what I wanted). My punch list was very picky - even the slightest gap in any mitered joints had to be replaced, caulked and any differences in elevations from one mitered rail cap to another be corrected. There were hardly any of these, but every concern was corrected to perfection without hesitation. The end result was a beautiful deck that both I and my wife are very happy with. I highly recommend Innovative Woodworks and Dominique, who did not hesitate to give me everything and more than I asked for.

Innovative Woodworks did a fantastic job on our new deck!! We have had many compliments in just the first few days (including other tradesmen who were out to perform other jobs at our home). Dominic's crew was great. They were punctual, hard working, and really cared about the quality of the work and making sure we were pleased. The end product was even nicer than we had imagined! Now to purchase the furniture, fire pit, lighting and outdoor speakers! Looking forward to many wonderful fall evenings on our new deck!

Innovative Woodworks was great! The estimate was accurate, the work was completed a day ahead of schedule, and we're happy with the quality. We received several estimates that were cheaper, but Innovative Woodworks is appropriately licensed and followed proper permitting and inspection procedure for the deck. During the final inspection, the inspector praised the quality of the workmanship.

They were excellent. They came in very close to several others price-wise. They were ready before I was and they even came on a Saturday to finish. If they had questions they asked and the rest of the time they just did their work.

The construction crew was very professional and we were extremely impressed with the quality of their work and attention to detail. We are very pleased with both the new stairs and deck extension. Our biggest problem now is that the new deck extension looks so much better than the old deck that we are considering having the old deck upgraded by Innovative Woodworks also.

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Dominic McGrath and his crew from Innovative Woodworks. In the world of contractors, mediocre is often as good as it gets. I am thrilled to report that does not have to be the case if you are in the market for a new deck or porch; Innovative Woodworks was outstanding to work with from beginning to end. We interviewed about 8 different companies, and are 100% confident we made the right choice. Innovative Woodworks was not the cheapest quote, but we do feel they provided the best value. The quotes came in anywhere from $25-$60K for roughly the same size project. The difference in costs were materials, features, and I suppose profit margins. In the end, our project total was about $36K and that included some high end finishes (Trex Transcend Flooring, 8x8 Cedar Posts, etc.). Dominic put together a proposal that got us everything we wanted without unnecessary expenses on features that wouldn't provide much value in our mind. While some companies clearly tried to up-sell certain high-cost materials or features, this was not their MO. He listened to our wants, needs, and plans for the space, and came up with several options to meet the end goal. Innovative Woodworks handled the majority of the project, subcontracting out the roof, paint, and electrical. The small hiccups that we did encounter with one of the subcontractors was handled by Dominic and made right very quickly. They also took care of all of the details associated with permitting, allowing us to sit back and rest assured in our decision. With small kids at home I was worried about a construction crew being around for several weeks, but the men showed the utmost respect to our entire family and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves throughout the project. The final product produced is of exceptional quality; everyone who has seen it comments not only on how great it looks but also on how well it is made. We look forward to many years of enjoyment out of the porch and know without a shadow of a doubt that on the off chance an issue arises, Dominic will respond in a timely manner to make things right.

Dave and his crew did a wonderful job. They were quick, efficient and masterful craftsmen. They tore the deck down in a few hours and had the new deck framed the same day. The crew worked early and late to finish the job ahead of schedule. The whole project took about a week. The crew left our yard clean every evening and stowed their tools neatly for the next day leaving the yard usable for our dogs. All work was completed as we agreed and exceeded my expectations. I can't say enough good things about this company. From Jasper who expertly quoted our deck and worked through the many iterations I requested to the owner Dominick who called me to make sure I was satisfied and provided me my payment receipt. The experience was great. They showed up on time, did great work in a timely manner, cleaned up well after their work and answered all my questions. And even better they guarantee their work even though I do not anticipate any issues. My wife and I love our new deck. They were not the cheapest quote we received but I believe we got the best quality work from their expert crew.

The deck looks great - I had to over-communicate to get the work done in a timely fashion and the way I wanted it done, but the end product looks good. They still owe me approximately $250 for some duct repair that was required due to them not supporting the duct they worked on adequately. Since our conversation stating they'd reimburse me for the rework, they've since shut off their phones and I have not been able to get in touch. All-in-all, it was an okay experience but the end has left me bitter.

Great experience. They were competent, creative, on time, clean, organized. They were a pleasure to work with. I would definitely use them again.

above my expectations

Dominic showed up right on time and looked at the deck project with us. He listened to our ideas, then he presented us with several additional options to consider. We agreed on what we wanted him to quote on. He submitted a proposal to us promptly within a couple of days. It was very detailed and professional. It wasn't our lowest bid, but it most closely met our needs of all the proposals that we received. We accepted the proposal and requested that they do the work at first availability. He called me just a few days later when somebody else cancelled. They started the following day and worked hard for three straight days to compete the construction. The end result is a very sturdy, well built deck with features that went over and above what we had before with the original deck by the home builder. We let the wood dry out for several weeks and had them come back out to apply the protective stain in the color that we had selected. Everything was done to our satisfaction. Dominic was easy to communicate with and promptly responded via email and text. We are very satisfied and recommend them highly.

Out of all the contractors we have worked with Innovative Woodworks is by far our favorite. Dominic and his team were a pleasure to work with due to their punctuality, flexibility, professionalism and craftsmanship. The addition they built provides an outdoor space that will be great for entertaining and enjoying time together as a family. Our deck went from a place that we tried to avoid to a space that we use daily. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND INNOVATION WOODWORKS!

The contract was signed 10/13/2015
12/29 started the demo
1/4 put down flooring, but the rest of the materials not delivered because of a supplier problem.  
1/12 still no materials and underdeck was leaking.
2/5 underdeck fixed properly
2/8 work resumed, but there is still a problem with missing materials.  New worker replacing customer service owner who was managing the project.  
2/17 homeowner noticed post sleeve skirts put up the following day were hanging off the deck instead on on it and brought it to new workers attention the next day. 
2/18 He offered to custom correct the skirts with materials not under warranty.  Customer did not agree to this and both agreed the posts would be moved to the correct measurement.
2/19 Customer discovered the posts were not moved but cut down to a smaller size so the sleeves would fit on the deck.  The problem is the azek posts do not fit snuggly around the wooden posts making the post unsecure. The customer believes this to be a safety issue and possible a code violation.  The new worker was asked to stop work.  I called the company owners to discuss the correct way to finish this project.  All azek materials are still not delivered.
2/23 Owners said the posts would be rebuilt to the correct specs and everything would be finished within the week.  
On 3/21 Everything was finished to the customer's satisfaction with the exception of a remote dimmer that was supposed to be delivered within three days.  I paid and asked the co-owner if I gave them the remainder of the check would he deliver the remote.  He said absolutely.
4/13  I do not have the remote at the time I'm writing this review. 
With the exception of not receiving the remote and the schedule issues (this was supposed to be a two week project) I'm happy with the overall product.  I would recommend Innovative Woodworks, but I felt I had to stay totally engaged to ensure progress and the schedule delays were extensive.

Spoke with Dominic about replacing our back deck. We set up an appointment for a couple of days later. Jasper came out and took measurements and discussed what I wanted done. I received the plans and an estimate within a couple of days. Work was scheduled but had to be rescheduled due to rain. Mike came out last Friday and completed the job on Monday. We were impressed with his skill level. He is a master carpenter. The old deck was torn down and hauled away in one day. The next two days where spent pouring the new pad, footing and putting up the new deck. All scrap materials were hauled away and the area under and around the new deck was left clean. The level of finish is A+. This deck should last for many years. We have no reservations about using Mike and Innovative Woodworks in the future and will gladly recommend their services to all.

We had a very positive experience with Dominique when we had dealt with him earlier for our screen room to sun room conversion project. Dominique showed up on the appointment time to review and give a quote for the small extension project. He and his crew again showed up on the date and time scheduled and completed the work flawlessly. He went above and beyond of our expectations and has earned our business and trust. We would not hesitate to recommend Dominique to our friends and family.
