First of all - the appliances themselves are great and the process of purchasing them at the Home Depot store was easy and quick. I had already done all my research on the web so knew what I wanted and just wanted them to answer any of the questions I still had and set up for delivery and install.
- My problem with Home Depot is the WAY they handle the delivery and installation of appliances. They advise you that there is no charge for the delivery and that is true - except that they nickel and dime you throughout the entire process by charging you for just about everything else! There is the cost of the appliance itself and then, of course, there are other costs for additional products for the installation - they won't do an installation unless they have all new cords, parts, etc. That can add up to a tidy little extra amount! Then there is the delivery - install process - which, in my case, was confusing and irritating. The delivery was good - both my new refrigerator and stovetop were delivered at the same time - but only the refrigerator was installed. These delivery people couldn't put in the stovetop - that was a different set of people. (these are all contractors for the Home Depot - NOT Home Depot employees!). Anyhow - after about a week - I finally got this group to come by and install the stovetop - but not before someone also had to come by and measure the cooktop to be sure it would fit. Since they didn't think it would - I was charged an extra $130 for this as the installers would have to cut away some of my counter. This did not happen - my new cooktop fit perfectly and so then I had to go through the process of getting a refund. Ridiculous!
It has all worked out and I love my new appliances but I do think Home Depot needs to come up with another way to deliver and install products bought at their store or on their website. I would think - with how big they are as a company - they could set up their own small subsidiary to both deliver and install their products. It would sure save a lot of future headaches!

The estimate with Home Depot was fine, it was just the price. I went to the store to get the estimate. We drew the sketches and they built the models right there. To make it to size and then gave us the price. They only had one or two choices. With Home Depot you don't have as much choice.

I believe that they did a great job on the removing and installation of the water heater. They were very nice and acted professionally. They were considerate, since they cleaned up when they were done too.
