I scheduled an appointment between 9 and 11 AM. Repairman called to advise running late would arrive approximately 12PM. He arrived as promised. Diagnosed minor problem immediately and fixed it. He tested all parts of my gas stove to ensure working probably. I was only charged the $7.95 service charge. I was very happy with the service I received. This is my first time using Appliance Master and I would defiantly use them again.
The tech (Ivan) was due to arrive between 2pm-4pm on 8/12. He actually called before 2pm and said he was outside - again, so far so good.
He came in and looked at the wine fridge and determined that the fans needed to be replaced. After calling his office, unfortunately they don't carry parts for a Magic Chef wine fridge. This didn't make sense to me, since I had specified what I needed repaired when I made my appointment.
It gets better.
While he had the fridge pulled out from under the counter, he pointed out to me that the electrical outlet was loose and recommended that I have an electrician come and have a look at it. He also advised me that I could probably call another company to repair the fridge, but by the time I paid for parts and labor it would probably make more sense just to buy a new wine fridge since they're not that expensive.
This is the best part - he then presents me with a bill for $8, which is what they charge for a service call. Great, I thought. That's really reasonable. I pulled out my Visa since their website said they accept all major credit cards. He asked me if I could write a check instead. Weird, but no big deal. Then, he says to me that if I appreciated the fact that he pointed out the electrical issue, I could GIVE HIM A FEW EXTRA DOLLARS. He had a heavy accent, so I wasn't even sure I heard him correctly. He repeated himself and again ASKED ME FOR EXTRA MONEY for the advice he gave.
So not only did he NOT fix the fridge, he refused my credit card, and then had the balls to ask me for an extra tip!?!?!
I wrote him a check for $20 and resolved then and there to write this review. I would absolutely not use this company again - they are obviously completely sketchy.
Nonetheless, I reached to Appliance Master on a Thursday, and the repair guy showed up at the agreed upon time on Saturday and successfully completed the repair of our Samsung (built-in) microwave oven (only 2 yrs old).
I am quite happy with the level of service and quality provided, and will certainly use their services in the future.
Fast forward to today, June 25, 2013. I received a notice from Sub Zero Experts, asking for payment plus a fee totaling $190.00 along with a form letter about GA Criminal Statues. At first I was really upset that a company would treat customers like this, but rather than spend any more time on this, I just paid them the $190.00 today.
Further, if I cared more (or had the time) I may be inclined to pursue a fraud or false advertising claim against them. I'm a simple guy that just wants things done right, and in this case, it wasn't. Nor was their any communication to try to resolve the issue.
I decided to call management and get them to send someone out to correct the situation and this is the point that everything really turned ugly (Gary was pleasant throughout the ordeal). The manager was aggressive and rude from the first moment. He would not even allow me to explain why I was calling. He first said that if I had paid the extra $100 they would have done the job right. He said for $100 they would come out and fix it. Then he started yelling at me telling me I didn?t know what I was talking about. In the end he told me the water filter was junk anyway and it didn?t matter if it was reconnected. I can understand a botched repair job but I can find no excuse for a company that doesn?t respect it customers and treats them rudely or fails to honor their ?100% satisfaction guarantee.?
I am new to Angie?s List and what I learned from this experience is that most companies can get a number of good ratings because a lot of people don?t know if a repair is done correctly (and in fact had I not known what to look for and inspected the work I would have given a good rating). However it is most important to look at the negative ratings. I don?t understand a rating system that gives an overall A rating to a company that has 16% D or F ratings.
"100 % of this report is false. Customer purchased the wrong part himself and wanted this pat to be installed. Our repairmen explained that it is wrong part and can be installed only without the filter because only 2 coils was present instead of 4.Customer insisted to use his part because part he purchase at Amazon was not returnable and was $100 chipper then original part.Repair was done 2 month ago and was done correctly.
