Elite Shutters of Georgia Inc

We had used Elite Shutters to do wood shutters for a previous townhouse we had owned and had a fantastic experience. When we bought a new house I automatically called them. Someone came out and measured and I was told our shutters would be ready in 4 to 5 weeks, just like before. After 8 weeks I started to get worried, after repeated calls and messages left, I finally received a call that said my shutters would be ready the next week. Three weeks later they came to install the shutters and they were 2 different shades of paint on the same shutter so I had them take them back to paint again. After 14 weeks I still did not have my shutters so I disputed the charge with AMEX. It was only after I disputed the charge that I got any kind of customer service call or email. The issue was never resolved but thankfully my money was refunded through AMEX. What I found out is this company has a new owner, the good reviews on this company are from the previous owners work.

I contracted with Elite Shutters to install Plantation Shutters in our garage and downstaris area. I was quoted a 4-5 week install period. After 8 weeks, I had to call the company. I was told they would be here the next week to install. The night before they were to arrive, they called and said the shutters were not ready, and it would take another week. They showed up the next week, which was then 10 weeks after the contract. They were missing 30% of the shutters, work needed to be done on the garage windows before they could install (which we were never told), and the door did not have the proper cut outs. The installer told us he would have to come back. During all this time, Elite was not calling me - I had to call them repeatedly to get any information. The installer came back a second time, and once again, did not have the complete order, and the doors were cut wrong. He left and told us he would have to come back a third time. The owner emailed me several times apologizing and saying they would stay in contact, but they did not. This was November 20. It has now been 13 weeks, and we still dont have all of the shutters, or the proper frame for the door. And, they have not bothered to call us since coming on November 20th. This entire process has been extremely frustrating and annoying. They are very unprofessional, unresponsive, and difficult to work with. They were one of the more expensive quotes we received, but we were snowed by all the promises our sales person made - who we never heard from again after giving them a check!
I would not suggest doing business with Elite again

Based on recommendations from Angie's List, I contacted Elite Shutters in September.  Cathy came out to take measurements, provide visuals for our choosing, and took stain samples from our home for the office shutters.   She brought samples of stained wood for matching the walls in our home office over the next few weeks.  We made our decision on the office shutters and coordinated an install date for Friday, October 12th.  Cathy confirmed the install date via phone on Wednesday, September 26th.  Throughout this process I would call Cathy for status on the sample deliveries, which she would follow up on...but it didn't seem to be a priority for her.  On Thursday, October 11th, Cathy called to tell me the install would not take place as scheduled on Friday.  She told me that someone had called in sick that week and my shutters hadn't been completed.  Cathy suggested that the next Wednesday (10/17) would be a better date.  I asked that she confirm that date with the delivery team and call me back.  She did not.  The following week, I learned through Shannon (in the office) that the install date would need to be Thursday (10/18). On Wednesday, I learned that the install date would not be Thursday.  Shannon told me the shutters were "85% done" which would mean a partial install on Thursday and then completion on Friday.  She suggested Friday would be best to complete all at one time.  We scheduled a 9 am delivery for Friday, Oct. 19th.  Unfortunately, the shutters weren't ready for a Friday install either.  I spoke with Bill, who was very apologetic, but told me that the shutters weren't dry enough for installation.  I was frustrated and ready to cancel the entire order at this point.  However, after speaking with Bill and Ron (the owner), they committed to completing the install on Saturday.  Bill showed up on time Saturday and was extremely professional.  Ron was also very professional over the phone and offered a satisfactory discount for the inconvenience we had suffered.  Though I would not opt to work with Cathy in the future (who told me she was overwhelmed by her responsibilities and hoped the company would hire someone to help her), I would recommend this company based on the professionalism of Bill and Ron...and the quality of the shutters.  They did a nice job expediting the project and installed some beautiful shutters for our home.

There were absolutely no hiccups.  They delivered exactly what they promised when they promised it.

The project went well. Kathy came out to do measurements and then explain the process to me as well as bringing several samples that I could look at and also a professional binder that I could use for my reference. She was extremely courteous and respectful and made sure that I understood the entire process and how their services differed from other retailers.  The blinds were custom made within the tie frame that was quoted to me and they even sent out a gentlemen to doublecheck the measurements to ensure absolute customization. They custom blended the paint color and type to match what I already have in my kitchen.  They sent out their custom installer to install the shutters and he was extremely professional and courteous as well. He took the time to make sure that I was satisfied and offered several alternatives in terms of installation of the blinds.  I am very pleased with the service that Elite Shutters provided, the look and the entire experience. I would definitely use their services again and recommend them to anyone in terms of quality and price.

We first met with elite shutters at their showroom, where they took us through to show us the different options available including materials, colors, prices etc. We had initially wanted blinds, but after seeing the plantation shutters and discussing the design elements, we decided on the shutters for our home. We were given a rough estimate (we had pre-measured all the windows in our home and brought sketches), and told that a detailed estimate could be done at the time of the professional measurements. We discussed the timeline - we were told that plantation shutters were custom jobs that would take a few weeks before we could have them installed. Our concerns at that time were about living in a home with nothing covering the windows (privacy!). We were assured that elite shutters would provide temporary window treatments (paper blinds that stick to the window frame) until the shutters could be installed.
Our second meeting with elite shutters was in our home, when they measured every window and gave us detailed written estimate. We made the last of the decisions on the design elements (louvre size, blade angles, attachments, color, clasps, openings etc) and finalized the plans. We left a deposit (50%) and we were told we would be called when the shutters were made. We were given boxes and boxes of paper blinds to help with privacy until the shutters could be installed.
It took 6 weeks for the shutters to be completed. We called after 4 weeks, and we were reassured that this was a normal timeline. We made the final appointment for the shutter installation on a weekday. The man that came to install the shutters (by himself! impressive!) arrived on time (very punctual) and called before he arrived to give a more detailed ETA. He worked quickly and efficiently and had me inspect the work before he left. It took him most of the morning to complete his work. He left the place clean, and moved all the furniture back to where it was before he shifted things around.
The shutters are gorgeous, we love them! They are guaranteed for life, and that guarantee stays with the shutters even if the owners change on the home. We would definitely recommend this company!!

EXCELLENT from start to finish. 
We'd decided to add shutters to our entryway, but needed a custom, innovative product to offer the privacy we needed.  Elite was not only prompt in their response to our inquiry, but when Darrell arrived at our home, I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge, creativity and integrity.  I'm a former window treatment buyer for a major retailer so I understand the industry.  Darrell is one of the best I've seen and his product innovation is a testament to his dedication to offering quality and value. 
In addition, we decided to visit their showroom/production facility as we made our final decision.  I love that their products are made right here in Georgia supporting our local economy and reducing the lead/wait time as you don't have to wait for them to ship from another country.  Katherine and the other team members were equally professional, knowledgeable and great to work with.  They wanted to make sure we got a product that would fit our needs so I can't say enough great things about them.  I am certain we will be proud of this product for years to come.
My advice:  They are worth every penny you pay.  You may find cheaper products and gimmick offers, but there is a reason most companies have to offer gimmicks.  This one does not.  You'd be hard-pressed to find a more innovative US manufacturer that is still dedicated to offering top quality products and excellent customer service.

It went wonderful. He was quick and he knew what he was doing. He had them made and put them in himself. I enjoyed dealing with him. He was very professional.

It went great.  They were able to match the price of a competitor, which helped us determine whether or not we were going to use them. We dealt with Darrell the whole time -- he came the first day to help us pick the shutters, then returned to do the installation himself because their regular installer wasn't available that day. They were all very professional and were able to work with our strict time frame. Darrell offered us many choices for shutter styles and we used his advice on what would look good on our windows. The result looks terrific and works very well for our home. The installation was quick. We are very pleased with the result and would definitely recommend them.

The owner came out, informed us about the different types of blinds, made recommendations and quoted a price and delivery schedule.  We paid 50% up front; and 50% at installation.  The blinds have a lifetime warranty and they look and work great  (alot better quality then the big box stores with metal gears inside).  We are happy with our selection.  Other vendors wouldn't even call us back without a minimum $1000 order.

We had other quotes that were over $1000 as well for the same windows and quality of blinds.

Install was timely and professional. They go the extra mile and caulk shutter frame to window frame for seamless look, they use 3 magnets top and bottom for secure closure. Fantastic job.

Darrell Dean arrived on time for the scheduled appointment and immediately put us at ease with his knowledge and professionalism.  We wanted wooden plantation shutters to match those that were already on the front and a portion of the back when we purchased our house.  He talked with us about options that would work well with what we had, showed us panels that were large enough to envision how the completed product would look, and answered all of our questions.  He completed measurements with installation to occur in 5-7 weeks.  Installation was as promised, and we love the new shutters.  Elite Shutters made and installed beautiful solid wood shutters for two large windows, two average windows, two side lights, two French doors, and the large window over the tub.   We would definitely use him again and highly recommend him to others.      

Our windows now look fantastic!  The entire process was wonderful.  Darrell was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and probably the deciding factor in us choosing Elite Shutters over the other estimates we received.  Our installer was Bobby and I cannot say enough about how well he did his job.  He was on time, answered all of our questions, cleaned up, and more importantly, was extremely nice in answering all of the questions from my 8 year old who was talking to him a lot of the time.  I would highly recommend this company. 

The work turned out very good. There was one little glitch and they had to fix it; they came back two days later and finished the job. The work turned out better than the first people we had who did the first half of the downstairs. Theirs was the best price of three estimates we received. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

They did a great job. They said they would take probably about four to six weeks to have the product ready to install. They were right on schedule. They are very professional. We are pleased with their service. We are very happy with their work.

When providing a quote, Daryl was knowledgeable and honest about the differences among the products and pleasant to work with. Elite only installs Hunter-Douglas blinds, whereas you don't know who makes the blinds that other companies install. The installation was high quality and relatively quick. Top-notch products and service all around.

Elite Shutters came out to my house conducted the measurements and promptly gave me an estimate. The price fell in line with the three other Angie's List vendors I checked. Darrell was very easy to work with and his install team was quick professional and did a great job.

They came to the house and I told them what I wanted. They showed me what it looked like and brought some samples. They then measured. A different man came to install it. He was very neat and clean. Everything went fine. I have used them three times in the span of six months.
