STUPID STUFF -
Hooks in CHILDREN'S closets installed 5 feet off floor - kids couldn't reach them (they knew our kids ages but said this is how they usually do it). I think they should have asked us. We didn't make them move them because we would have had to patch the walls.
Forgot to install belt hooks in 2 boy's closets
Lack of commmunication - They didn't tell us they couldn't put a master bedroom closet bench on wheels as requested (so it could be moved) - they cut out/removed the closet baseboard and carpet to install the benches without discussing the issue with homeowner. We had to install new baseboard and have carpet mended where they cut it for the bench!
All lower hanging rods in master bedroom closets were too low to hang shirts even thought ceilings are 10 feet. We were told we could only hang pants on the lower bar when we questioned the height of the bar. (We don't have that many pants!) If this was true, they should have asked what we had planned to hang here - not hang it too low for our clothes. They had to raise the rods which meant less clearance than normal between upper and lower hanging clothes and also between bar and shelf above it (they didn't raise the whole closet system because it was already installed!) This was a custom closet in a new custom home - it should have been planned and installed for a closet with taller ceilings.
Some of the edge strips of the closet system are rippled/not smooth - not a huge deal but visible when the light catches it. They just said that is how they were manufactured (??) Parts of the system would have had to be ripped out to fix this even if they had wanted to replace them. We didn't make them replace the rippled ones since we were fed up with everything at this point.
We were referred to this company by a friend from our kids' school but We were VERY disappointed! I still regret using a company that was a bit less expensive than others.
