Gary and Mike did a fantastic job and were a great team to work with, starting with Gary's recommendations for possible systems. We began with an agreed upon base system and eventually changed one other component (a staging that Gary suggested so that there would be cost savings if I was comfortable with phase 1). The results are beyond my expectations and their costs of doing this were better than certain competitors and the interaction was extremely valuable.

This is my initial review, there's an update below:

The add-on in question, an iSimple Connect (ISTY651), works with every phone except my daughter's HTC One.  The phone works fine with two other car bluetooth systems but those are factory installed.
The CD player in her car also "just happened" to break when they worked on it and of course they said it's an unfortunate coincidence.  Yeah, we're not done yet.
In addition to those we just noticed that there's a chrome bit missing off the shift knob so there's a half inch of lovely white plastic there that didn't use to be visible.
I'm definitely not at all pleased.  The connection issues might be the phone but the phone works with two other systems so... indeterminate.  The broken CD player and missing chrome are their issue as far as I'm concerned.  I'm going to talk to the dealer about the CD player before going back to them but I'm not buying the coincidence.
They have been friendly and courteous but overall I can't say I'm at all pleased with this experience.

Update, April 2015:
tl;dr: We had some initial difficulty but they followed up and have been very eager to make things right.  I wish it it had worked from the beginning but anyone can have an off day and I'm impressed with their efforts to make me happy.  Interacting with mega-corps can make you jaded about the customer service you're going to get but some small businesses out there are still providing premium experiences.

Apr 2015: After a long lull (I don't drive the car and my daughter wasn't nagging me) I got a follow-up call from Benchmark. Just the week before my daughter had gotten a new phone which also had issues with the iSimple bluetooth add-on that had been installed.  After a brief chat, they?ve been very friendly throughout, they offered to swap the iSimple out for a different system.  I was able to take the car in this week and the new one, from USA Spec, is working fine so far.  They were also able to get the stuck CDs out though the system still claims there are CDs inside so it's non-functional.  The plastic piece on the gear shift isn't quite right but they got it to the point where it's not really noticeable.  They've also offered to swap the CD player for a single-disk unit that would include the bluetooth as well as adding an aux jack. It's slightly more expensive but they'd credit the full cost of the current unit.

Overall, I'm very happy with the way they've handled this and I'll call them the next time I have car audio needs.

I've done a lot of business with Benchmark Soundworks. I used them for several after market installations in my car. There were some issues where some damage was done to my car on the first installation and can you kind of like take it down two decimals so they were a little bit reluctant to acknowledge that the damage was caused by them but when they finally did, they made it right. I had a lot of trouble with the system but they continue to work on it until they got it right. They handled it after the point that they acknowledged it. They kind of redeemed themselves on how he ultimately handled it. They really did do their best to fix it. They damaged and armrest and they leather on the console, I let that one go becaus eit was so tiny. They replaced the armrest only after some proding on our part. The system didn't work for a long time, the trunk wouldn't wire in when they tried to wire it in them, there was a problem. I probably made 10 returns to that place. They pulled it over the bag on the last there. I will probably not be using them again.

Gary took the time to show me all of his products and helped me with the decision of which application would provide the highest quality sound system for my classic car. They did a fantastic job on the installation and built a custom panel in the back that hides the rear speakers that looks original to the car. The sound system fricking ROCKS!! They did a professional job on the installation and I am beyond pleased with the quality of my new stereo system. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high quality sound system for their car. I am also going to have them look at my home audio/video as well.
