Did not clean bathroom vents and ducts. Otherwise, good work

The three man crew arrived to assess the smell from one of the rooms in the home. I was told that the $99.00 cleaning would not alleviate the problem and that I needed the service that would cost several times more. When I told him I would not pay that amount, the attitude of the leader became very sour. He then said, "Then you owe me $60 for the evaluation." With that, I told them to do the $99.00 cleaning service I originally scheduled. As they began to clean the vents leading to the furnace where the smell was a problem I noticed that the first register they replaced after cleaning had a lot of dirt still clinging to it which I pointed out to the leader. I then saw another vent where the register directional spines were closed and would not open. When I mentioned it to the leader he asked me. "How did that happen?" as if to imply I had bent them. My point was that it clearly was not in that condition when it was removed because that vent has never been touched since we moved into the house. The leader appeared upset with me but, after a bit of work with pliers, was able to fix it. They quickly finished the rest of and left. When I began to inspect the other registers I immediately saw the registers used to expel air in the original room where the odor occurred were never removed or cleaned. I immediately called the office and spoke with Danielle to get the crew back before they left the area. They returned but the leader was clearly upset again. I pointed out the debris in the vents in the bedroom and adjacent bathroom that had never been vacuumed and the register in the dinette area that still was laying on the floor because it had not been put back into the vent. He fussed a bit at one of the crew for forgetting to replace the register and vacuumed to the two vents they forgot to clean and left. I walked them to the door and returned to the room in question. Apparently, they turned off their small portable vacuum cleaner too soon because all of the debris was still sitting in the vent. At this point I was not going to call them again. I had seen their cleaning process and got my vacuum cleaner out and vacuumed all the vents, most of which were clean but two still had debris. I called back to office of Atlanta Air Experts and again spoke with Danielle. She interrupted my conversation three times because of incoming calls as I tried to describe my experience with their cleaning crew. I offered to give her my telephone number for someone to call me but she insisted that she is the service representative to finish the call. When I finally began to explain what had happen in my home she said, "Well, the crew called me to make a complaint on you." I When I asked as to what the complaint was about I was told she could not share it with me. I certainly did not mean to hurt their feelings when I pointed out where they were not performing the work to my expectations. However, my expectations from their advertisements that my service would not result in: 1. a dirty register; 2. a newly non-functional register; 3. a register that was never returned to the vent; and, 4. two registers that were never removed for the vent to be cleaned. In summary, I called Danielle to let Atlanta Air Experts know what happened at my home and she was dismissive. When I asked for someone to call me regarding the experience she said someone would but would not tell me who or when. NOT to my surprise I have never received a call and now do not need no want one. My only reason was to share my experience with the manager, I did not want a refund. Now, I think it is also important that members of Angie's are aware to check all work allegedly being performed and do an inspection of all areas before paying. If I had, I would not have had to call them back.

They destroyed the condensate pump (left a nice puddle, too); took us hours to figure out why the AC wouldn't cut on. And the floors throughout the house were essentially trashed. Whatever they maybe sucked out of the vents ended up on my floors. The "video inspection" was the guy sticking his cell phone in the fan turbine and using the video to try to upsell an upgraded service. Thank God I said no. Only one of them spoke English, and when I asked him what the other two guys were doing (because there was a lot of violent noises being made), he told me to go see for myself. I think I'm still in shock at how big of a ripoff this was. Maybe my ego doesn't want to accept that I got duped. I should've done my homework.

I purchased a deal on Groupon for a ductwork/vent/return cleaning for my entire system. The appointment was scheduled within 24hrs of my purchase due to a cancellation in my area....and the tech arrived during the specified window of time. He quickly went to work with another tech cleaning out the vent system. The truck-mounted system was not the quietest but it was very thorough. They used a shop vac to keep things relatively neat in the house. Overall, once he showed me the crud that came out my system....I was relieved I took a chance and called them. I can tell there is a positive change in air flow already. The technician did not once try to upsell me or convince me that I needed more expensive services I was very pleased with the work and would gladly use them again.

The appointment setting was easy and timely.  Showed up on time and went to work.  I can't tell if the ducts are cleaner.  The house is still dusty, and I was hoping it would help to clean the ducts. 
I added on dryer cleaning that they said they did as well.
The day after the cleaning the A/C unit made some loud sounds and smelled like it was burning.  I immediately called and they said they couldn't come back out to fix whatever they had done for 5 days. After alot of calling and alot of complaining they finally agreed to come out two days after breaking it.  Two days after they broke it they came back out and had to replace a major mechanical piece in the HVAC that they had broken while cleaning out the unit.
I would never recommend this company.  They broke the HVAC system while performing their job and then would not immediately come back out and fix their mistake.
The dryer was still not properly venting.  I had to call another vent cleaning company which came out today and said that my dryer vent had never been cleaned at all.  They took pictures since there was so much lint in my duct.  They also saw that this company had not replaced the mastik on my system and now my HVAC unit is leaking cold air into my attic.
I absolutely was ripped off.

As other have mentioned, we had a Salesperson/Lead Tech and 3 non-English speaking techs. After disputing the work clearly defined on the Groupon, we had our dual systems "cleaned". The "video" feed was amazingly visible on the I-phone and was not able to be sent to me or saved. Long story short, $79 Groupon turned into a $600 job. We were duped into the $300 UV Lamp (sound idea, very cheap light product was installed). The techs went into the Aric and blew our vents from the attic. The result was dirt all over a clean basket of laundry, my daughters' oatmeal and a number of hardwood floors. After complaining, a Manager scheduled a "Senior Tech team" to come back and re-clean. One year later, a reputable HVAC company showed me the mildew/mold spores in our system. This was our system that was cleaned 1 year ago. We also saw that our ducts still have years worth of dust in several areas that are not immediately visible. I would NEVER use them again or recommend them.

they came almost 2 hours late due to a client issue. the young man disputed the coupon and called his manager. We have never had this service before. They were in a huge rush and were at the house for about 35 minutes. They left our garage door and our laundry.door open. Fortunately I caught it before our cats got out. So a C minus would be the grade here

I had a Groupon for unlimited vents and dryer vent cleaning and video camera inspection for $49.  The appointment was easy to make and the techs showed up on time.  There was one lead guy who spoke good English (Fabian), and two other techs who did not speak any English.  They pulled their truck up to the house, asked me to open the garage, and brought in their equipment.  So far so good....
Then Fabian called me downstairs to say that if I wanted my second A/C unit cleaned, it would cost an additional $185.  He then said if I wanted the blower cleaned on the furnace (the unit I had the Groupon for), it would cost another $185.  I said that sounded like too much, and he agreed to lower the total price to $300, minus the $49 I paid for the Groupon.  I said, "then I won't be getting anything for the Groupon, you'll just be refunding my money and then charging me $150 per unit.  Fabian did not agree, and tried to explain why but I didn't understand his math.  Maybe it was just me though (math has never been my strong suit).  I finally agreed to the $300 so they would clean both the blowers.  Fabian then spent about 20 minutes trying to upsell me stuff - first it was an electromagnetic zapping service that would supposedly kill all the bacteria in my vents, which I declined.  He then tried to sell me an expensive permanent filter with a "lifetime guarantee."  I have no idea whether either of the items were useful or of good quality; I just said I couldn't afford them at this time.
The team spent about 2 hours at the house, and Fabian did show me two filters that had mounds of dust on them that had supposedly been sucked out of my vents.  They never ran a camera through the vents; when I said I had paid for that service, Fabian explained that he just used his iPhone camera, because it had a "crystal clear picture."  So I have no idea whether they did a thorough job or not!  I did ask for an "after" shot of the blowers, since Fabian had shown me two "before" pics (again, on his iPhone) that showed the blowers covered with dirt/dust.  He obliged, and the blades did look cleaner, although both pictures were kind of blurry (compared to the "crystal clear" shots he had shown me earlier of the dirty blowers.)  I never saw before or after shots of the dryer vent, so I don't know what kind of job they did on that as well.
All in all, I don't think I would use these guys again, as I felt like I got a bait & switch - the $49 Groupon sounded great, but they should have specified in the fine print that (1) cleaning the blower was not included; and (2) the promised "video camera inspection" might actually just be a guy with a mobile phone.  I also felt pressure to buy extra items that were not necessary.  Finally, I have no way to tell if they did a good job, since I did not see any camera footage.   

I started with just a Groupon air duct clean for $49.00 By the time it was over it was and additionjal $441.00 because I have two units and I wanted all the "icky" stuff cleaned off the coils & the units themselves. (I was told it was mold & algae!)  This was considered a "Deep Clean". The team was headed by Robert who called to let me know they were on the way with an approximate ETA. The actual young men doing the work were spanish speaking with limited English proficiency. However, they seemed to know their jobs & went about the tasks professionally, courteously & promptly. However, once they left I noticed later in the day that my condensation pan was filling with water! I called the the cell phone number for Robert, left a message but got no response. I then called the office on Monday & they promptly (Wednesday)  sent out a team to investigate. The issue was resolved free of charge by blowing out the drain!  Two days later, the main unit stopped working altogether!! Called the office again and again they sent someone within 2 days, but it was discovered that the problem was created by another company doing work on another unit nearby. (We live in a condominium). Must say, Atlanta Air Experts were responsive, prompt & courteous at all times and really worked hard to make sure we were happy & they had done no harm. Would definitely recommend for service.

Overall it went very well. Do plan on sacrificing a weekend or at least a half a day. Also, do clean the furnace to avoid extra charges. They told me it would take up to four hours, but they were in and out in less than hour.

Called # on Angies List.  Made an appointment with Zak to come out the next week  within a four hour time frame.   Zak showed upat the appointed hour and did a terrific job.  Explained everything he did.  Sold us a device that keeps track of vent efficiency.  No pressure involved.   Will use this company from now on!

Junis and his workers came to our house within the window of time that we were expecting them.  They worked quickly and efficiently.  Junis checked out the filter on my furnace and showed it to me so I could see that it is a non-standard size and needs to be replaced.  He gave an estimate for that work and we will probably hire them to do it in the near future.  Junis asked if I would like to pay $40 extra to have the workers spray Microban, an anti-fungal (etc.) solution, into the vents.  I did purchase this service because it has been a very long time (if ever!) since the vents were clean so who knows what was growing in there.
If you hire this company, just be sure that you plug back in anything they unplug to use their equipment.  We discovered a few days later that our chest freezer had been unplugged and the food in there was ruined.

THE EMPLOYEES THAT SHOWED UP WERE PROFESSIONAL, CLEAN CUT (WHICH I REALLY LIKED), WELL MANNERED.  THEY GOT IN DID THEIR JOB AND GOT OUT OF MY WAY, WHICH I ALSO REALLY APPRECIATED.

PS....PRICE I PAID MAY NOT BE CORRECT I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF REMOLDELING MY HOME, TO MANY THINGS GOING

Not one to review too much but figured I'd share my experience:
I bought the Groupon for unlimited vent cleaning and returns for $49 dollars ( it was overdue for my vents to be cleaned)
Setting the appointment was fine and no issues there and the techs arrived ontime, it went downhill from there.
I have a roommate living with me and as they rolled into the driveway I
was intrigued by the apparent 17 years old driving the RENTAL van with
his hat sideways. Now I dont have issues with anyone, and I'm 27 so not
far off where those my days. But as a professional, appearance is a big
one in my book.
They proceed to knock on the window (not my front
door) and hold up a work sheet and proceeded to pass the giant exhaust
exit tube into the house ( to connect to one vent to suction out the  dust, I would assume)
ok....
Again, not knocking on employees, but
3 of 3 didn't speak English well enough to explain to me the process,
and the one in charge was probably 19 or so. ok fine...
I'll summarize the rest of the encounter:
Shop vac used to clean out 4-5 inches in ducts, dust was shot ALL over my  bedroom ( allergies are stirred up but dust, hence the Groupon)
Some powerful stream of air hose sprayed on CLOSED vents to loosen depris/dust ( odd, none of the vents we taken off)
The two returns I have were removed and blasted with this device which worked but only where it touched, I will wager my mortgage that the rest of  the 20 feet of pipe is still dirty...
I had to use their snake cam to show them parts that they missed, and they brought their gear back into the house and did it again.
Yada Yada gets worse...
In about the time that I figure out what is going on, they are done and left and we are both left mystified and I actually said to him
"What just happened....???"

We initially contacted the company by phone and set up an appointment for 1-2 weeks from the time we called, a weekday morning. The person on the phone was easy to communicate with and scheduling was not difficult.
My biggest complaint about this company is that the workers were not very professional. A three person crew arrived within the expected time on the day we had our appointment. They did call 20 minutes prior to arrival to give us a details ETA as we requested. The main 'air expert' did not introduce himself (I still don't know his name or the names of any of the other two men in the crew) when he arrived, and just said 'we are here to clean the air ducts'. None of the other two men even spoke to me during the entire time they were there, and when I would ask any of them a question, they would defer to the main person in Spanish to answer my questions.
My issue was communication. I asked questions, and the only person speaking English would answer in broken English, but would never quite answer any of my questions. I'm not sure if he did not understand my questions or if he just didn't want to answer them. He was very clear and easy to understand when he was explaining to me that my upstairs unit had a filthy blower that would need additional cleaning and gave me the estimate for that. I ok'd the job and the guys went to work. Despite my questions, I was not shown the 'before' vents or ducts, and was just shown the 'after' filth on my filters.
After they were done cleaning the upstairs unit and vents (before they moved downstairs), the guy asked if i had a new filter since they had used my existing filter as a catch-all and it was now filthy. I explained that I had just changed both of the filters, so the filter he was holding was very recently put in and that no I did not have any new filters in the house. He explained that the cleaning process basically destroys the filter and I now need a new one. I said that would have been fine but he should have told me earlier so I would have one ready. He said he would just clean the filthy filter and put it back in. He then proceeded to use a blower on the filthy filter in the middle of my home, and I could visibly see dust literally fly EVERYWHERE. At this point I became fairly agitated, and asked him to stop since he was distributing dust and filth into the air (very counterproductive). He then took the filter outside, and came back in and said he would give me a new filter for free. Honestly if filters always get destroyed in the cleaning process, it's totally fine, just let me know ahead of time so I can prepare a new filter ahead of time! Moreover, if cleaning a filter is an ok thing to do, maybe do it outside?
The entire job took the three man crew a little over an hour. It seemed to be a fairly rushed job, and at the end of the day it was very unclear what they did, because again there was the communication issue. I guess the guy could tell I was a bit agitated trying to get my questions answered so he also threw in a 'sanitation'? I'm still not sure what that is other than that it's for mold prevention and that apparently it's value is $69.99.
All in all, the crew came and did the job they were paid to do. They left a layer of dust/grime on the floors near every vent (I had a lot of vacuuming to do after they left) and I don't know if this is from their shoes or from the vent cleaning. The air ducts and vents looked cleaner after they were done so that's fine. I would not use this company again though, because of the communication issue and the very unprofessional manner of the crew. 

They were quite good. They gave me a quote and they didn’t exceed it. Every problem they had, they just kept at it till they got it fixed. They stand till they get the job done and they are flexible on how they get it. The scheduling was good.

Bryan and his crew were very professional and thorough.  They walked me through the whole process so I could see and understand what the problems were and how they were going to fix them.  I would definitely use them again in the future if we have other heating/air conditioning issues.

Everything went great. When I booked the appointment, I was told they would arrive between 4 and 6pm and that they would call right before they came over.  They called about 5 minutes before they arrived at 5.   Zak and his crew backed their truck into my driveway, Zak introduced himself, explained exactly what they would do and they got right to work.  They took down all the register covers, cleaned them, vacuumed out everything with this HUGE hose and put the covers back. Zak tested the system before and after the cleaning.  They made sure everything was good to go before they left.  The whole service took about an hour and a half.  They were very professional.

I had a coupon for $65 to do everything that they did but they charged me $319! They said that the coupon was good but he said that I needed this and that and this and that.
The main reason that I had them come out was to clean the dryer vent and they didn't even do it. I told them that the missed the dryer vent and they disagreed with me so I showed them. They finally said that they would do it and they must not have actually done that because two months later it is clogged again. I've called 6 times since then and they will only let me talk to the receptionist.

We purchased a foreclosed house that had sat on the market for a year empty.  The previous owner had left pets locked in the house and feces and urine permeated the house. We remodeled the whole house, including ozone machine and Killz paint to kill and seal the urine smell.  After remodeling the house, we decided the vents needed to be cleaned.  

I found Atlanta Air Experts on  Angie's List.  I am new in GA and know no one.  Brian and his crew came out.  They were very professional, clean, wearing their uniforms, and busily got to work. Brian was shocked to see how packed our blower was in the furnace.  They pulled and pulled matted hair/debris/fur...you name it out of that furnace!  There wasn't an air filter either.  The other two workers quickly took off all the vent covers and started to power blow the vents.  Once that was finished, they put all the vent covers on and vacuumed up each area.

The dryer vent was packed full and they did a great job.  I have noticed that my drying time has decreased!

We had them install a UV light into the furnace.  This was something additional to their normal service.   The bulb did not work and they ran to their office and returned right away with a new one.  

Unfortunately, the crud that was in our furnace blower got up into our coils.  The A/C didn't work that night.  We called them the next morning and were back out as soon as possible the same day!  Brian and his team cleaned the coil and stayed until they knew for sure that the A/C was working.  

They were a wonderful team, professional, on-time, and very knowledgable of their job.  

This project would have been around $260 if we hadn't bought the permanent furnace filter and UV light.  

What we really wanted was our dryer vent cleaned. They had a special on one system duct cleaning that also included dryer vent cleaning for $65. The workers were very professional and did a great job. There was a problem with the dryer vent but they stayed with it until they got it unstopped. Great job!!

They were great. They were efficient and professional. We would recommend using them.
