Him and his men removed the old sagging 2nd floor deck, and then removed the
1st floor broken soffet. It took some engineering among them to figure out how
cantilever this deck without it sitting onto the porch roof below it. They started with
the porch soffet and restructured it adding lots of insulation to cover up the
formerly exposed piping. With that done, they went back up stairs and re-created
the deck. It was wonderful to step out onto this deck and not have it feel like
it was going to collapse beneath us. We will finish up the paining ourselves
and now look forward to having company out there, again.
