They were very good. They just did it for a month and they finished last week. I did not really shop around; I was more interested in looking at the quality of their work.

It is beautiful, but the owner is selling the business. The experience was a good experience. I chose him because he had gone to school with my daughter so I knew him. It was an expensive proposition and I thought it was a little more expensive than it needed to be.

Legacy Landscapes did a lot of good jobs for us, a lot of work. They have willingness to work with me, able to take phone calls whenever needed, answer to any questions that I had. I like just the way they presented, what they could do, when they could do it and of course the pricing which was pretty much cheaper than the other quotes that I did get.

Mark Schisler's thorough landscaping plan for our front and back yards was beautifully detailed! We appreciated his unending patience in working with us as and quot;first-time landscaping customersand quot;. We decided to begin phase one with the front yard curb appeal. Goodbye to our old 16-year lackluster junipers! Legacy Landscapes took very good care of us, with the removal of old plant material, the installation of a good variety of very attractive plantings, 2 tree beds and additional plant borders - from our home to the curb. It's been a tremendous improvement. We've already received several compliments on the professionalism of Legacy's work.
Nick was the Manager on our project and he and his crew did a truly wonderful job transforming our front yard! They continued into our back yard plan with the removal of old material, prepping, grading, leveling, installing and filling a sizable area for the timber - bordered rock bed , which was the initial project for the back. The crew noted and followed through on even the smallest detail. It looks great! They were always punctual, Nick let us know what he had planned for that day and all areas were cleaned up each evening. Nick walked me through every variety of plant and tree to discuss its care and watering. We are more than thrilled with the result of Phase I.
Tammy, the Manager in their office was very gracious in answering any questions we had. Communication all around was very prompt. It was a pleasure to work with everyone involved in our project. Granted, our job - even in it's first phase - was small in scale compared to what Legacy Landscapes does on a regular basis. It was for this reason that we so appreciated the care they took with our landscaping project . We would highly recommend Legacy and look forward to working with them again soon!

It was about a 2 week project and they always were punctual, cleaned up at the end of each day, communicated very clearly the goals for the day and the upcoming schedule.

The company offers to provide a landscape plan (for which there is a cost and they let you know this up front). For me the cost of the plan was well worth it (and it's backed out of your landscaping bill if you select company to actually do the work). Mark Schisler, owner, creatively incorporated my requests into a beautiful plan for both front and back yard. Because I wanted to stay within a budget range, Mark helped me scale back the plan a bit into what I needed for now. The project estimate mgr provided detailed estimates very quickly so that I could lock in on what I wanted to do in my "Phase I" I'll use the plan again in the future when I'm ready to add more plantings to the yard. Mark was very knowledgable about what plantings would work best in my yard and how to tackle the erosion issues in back yard. The work itself: The Legacy team, led by Project Mgr. Nick, was prompt and professional. The tree service and irrigation company they partner with were also prompt and professional. The work team paid attention to the little details. Example: They had to temporarily remove my fence gate to get their equipment into the back yard to do the re-grade, so they set up a temporary barrier to ensure my dogs didn't leave the yard. They closed that barrier each day when they left and replaced my gate when the job ended. The team was happy to answer questions I had along the way. Mark checked in on progress. Legacy just finished the work this week, and my back yard has been transformed from an overgrown eyesore into a lovely retreat. My front yard drainage issue has also been addressed. Cost? Landscaping for a job like this isn't cheap no matter who peforms the work. I believe Legacy's estimates were very competitive. And the team worked hard to produce a quality result. I am very satisfied that I got exceptional value for my dollar. I plan to use this company again in the future.

We had some significant challenges with communication with them. They did not return phone calls and were late showing up. The work was beautiful when it was finished but it was a very challenging process. I do think the design the crafted and installed was beautiful, it was more the service that we had a problem with.

How did it go overall? Reading the above narrative, as brief and straightforward as I can make it to communicate what my experience with Legacy was like, supplies the answer. In all my days, I have never been treated with greater disrespect by any contractor I've employed to do anything. My guess is Legacy's owner will blame this scenario on me, although I'm not sure what his rationale might be. I've come to learn, though, that jails are filled with innocent people, that when you state facts which do not represent people in the most favored light they see themselves in, they push back, regardless of how wrong they are and that almost no one admits, let alone takes, responsibility for behavior which most would view as reprehensible. In this case, however, I have photographs, cancelled checks and the eyewitness accounts of people in the trade who saw this company's work product, not to mention my own experience. So, why did I wait two years to write this review? My nature is that I would prefer to praise someone rather than criticize them but the more I considered it, the more I came to believe that I owed it to others to share this tragedy. Had I read a review like this BEFORE I hired this outfit, I never would have made that mistake and would have saved myself a lot of money and even more lost time and frustration. I take no pleasure in offering this information. I'm getting nothing out of it and writing this report brings back that shocking and terrible experience. I don't claim to be perfect and my standards are high but I do expect that work I've PAID FOR be performed at some point in time, that I be treated with at least fundamental courtesy and that my property be left clean and orderly when workers depart for the last time. None of those expectations were met. Legacy left me a legacy all right, a legacy of distress, damage to my property, trouble and unnecessary cost overruns.

"What this member didn’t say in this report is that he is a friend of the family, and I agreed to do the job that was out of our service area. He is correct that I did walk off the job. It’s the first time in 16 years I have had to do so and only charged him for the work that was completed. He was an extremely difficult client to please. He refused to pay to have his irrigation system fixed correctly, and then blamed me for plants that were dying. The final straw was he hired his own mason to build a ridiculous wall on the side of his house, and his mason tore the driveway up, but he insisted that I pay for a new driveway. His demands were ridiculous and clearly took advantage of our friendship. I am very sorry he felt the need to vent his frustrations on this web site some two years after the fact, when I took a great loss on his job as well. We have a sterling reputation, and go above and beyond for our clients. This is reflected in our A plus rating with the Better Business Bureau and over 30 Five Star reviews on Kudzu. I will not, however, let a client take advantage of my company, even when he is a friend of the family."

Mark at Legacy meet with us about half way through our pool/spa installation to come up with a landscape design that would make our backyard an Oasis. Wow, did he come through for us. After spending about 2 hours with us listening to our wants and adding his own thoughts Mark draw up a plan that knocked our socks off. Mark was open to minor tweaking of the plan right from the start and redrew the plan so we could see the changes. When it was time to install Wes was our man. Boy is he good! From making the final grade, to working out drainage issues, to overseeing the irrigation install, to making changes on the fly to make our space the best it could be Wes was first rate. Both Mark and Wes called us after 19 inches of torrential rain to make sure their work made it through the flooding. Very impressed.

They drew up a design plan then worked with us to include the things we wished as well. They are customer oriented as they made sure we were completely happy with our new yard.

We got several estimates and they were not the cheapest. I really liked their proposal, their open mindedness and creativity. Ever single person that came was personable and courteous. We have plans for more work.

They were awesome. They began the project on time completed it on time and stayed within the budget. From the president, who was the architect, along with the entire crew, they were awesome to deal with. They were very accommodating, friendly and clean on the job. I would highly recommend this young talented company.
