called ahead of taking my vehicle to Kams for repair as my truck was misfiring to see if they changed out plugs in a 2007 Ford F-150 as some won’t. She said yes they did but let them hook it up and see what is going on. I took it in and was told it was not the plugs but the catalytic converters. $2,400 repair. I reluctantly let them do the repairs (thinking) they knew what they were talking about. Anna calls and says “your truck is ALL SET, except for a slight misfire and the Tech can’t replicate the original problem.” I picked up the truck and shocked that the problem may have been worse than when I first took it in. I went back the next day and Anna wasn’t working, but the Tech quickly got defensive stating “even though it didn’t fix the problem, the converters were shot and had to be replaced. Wasn’t concerned a bit that the truck didn’t work right. After spending $2,400 I took it back to Kam’s. They were at a loss and can’t diagnose a problem without a code. But they thought they heard a misfire in port 4. So we decided to change out that plug to know avail. Then a phone call from Anna arguing with me that the plugs were not that old and it can’t be the plugs. She said changing all of the plugs won’t fix the problem EVEN though I told her the plugs had about 135K miles she argued that the plugs couldn’t have more than 50-60K. She is going to argue with the original owner of this 14 year old vehicle? Then Anna said again without a code they can’t fix it. Anna said that the Tech thinks it is an internal engine problem. Whatever that is. They went for the most expensive fix first and NEVER solved the problem. $2,400 down the drain and never a discussion of consideration. So then I took my truck to Honest One in Marietta. Without a code they diagnosed misfires in all engine ports and said all of the plugs needed replacing except the one changed by Kams. I had them change all of the plugs and for less than $900 had a perfectly running truck without misfires. I highly DO NOT Recommend Kams for any auto repair. Not sure I would trust them to change wiper blades as there is no code for that.

I've been going to KAMS for all my cars for years. Have always known them to be fair until now. Totally took advantage of my 18 yr old daughter. Charged her for services she did not request and refused to give her the car until it was paid in full. They charged us for a brake check that we DID NOT request. The girl/person at the front desk was so smug, rude, and completely unprofessional. Actually made faces at my daughter. That was the worst customer service. I can't believe they would hire someone so childish and immature to work the front desk. You can be sure I'll NEVER go back to KAMS.

They seem to really try to work with me due to rust issues. I've used them a dozen times or more over 15-20.

I called and got a quote to replace clutch on a Pontiac that suddenly went out. I was quoted a price that was slightly higher than the Local Chevy dealer but Kams could do the work a day earlier. I Had the car towed to Kams and the next day I was called and told the price was going to be nearly $400.00 more than was quoted because they needed to install the dealer supplied part because the clutch could fail if it wasn't a dealer part.

As part of their tactic I was told that they recently replaced a clutch on another car of the same make and model using their standard parts and the clutch failed causing an accident.

Stay away from these rip-off/bait and switch experts who use fear to rip people off.

"Hi [member name removed], Thank you for coming by KAMS Auto again and speaking with Ken, the owner about your latest visit and pricing questions. Again, we are sorry you were not originally satisfied with the service you received and the pricing difference. Unfortunately, there are times when only a dealer part is the acceptable fix and those parts are more costly. We hope you visit us again in the future as we'd love the opportunity to truly show you why so many have made KAMS Auto their 1st choice in automotive service and repair."

I have used Kam's for a few years now. They seem to be the best mechanics in the area that i have used. They do have their faults but they do a good job which is key for me. They are a little pricey in comparison with other mechanics. However they do let me bring in my own parts so I save money that way by buying parts online and then having Kam's install them. They are always busy and seem to take a little longer than other mechanics in the area. I am ok with this as I can afford to leave the car with them for a day or two if needed. This last visit was more routine but they have replaced my alternator, fixed my air conditioner, replaced brakes and spark plugs, and various other problems. I recommend them.

He is very good. We moved here about three years ago and that was one of the worries that my husband had as we had one of the excellent auto mechanics in Pennsylvania. He was afraid that we are not going to find an honest person to deal with. So after couple of attempts we found Kam and since then it has been very good. He always calls up for follow up like if there is any business or anything else. His price is little better than others that we had been to. His quality of service is very good.

Brought the car in initially to troubleshoot an engine noise. KAMs suggested changing the type of oil and adding an additive. Fixed the problem and have had no recurrence.

Poorly. Car drove worse after alignment; Kam's denied there were still problems. Had to be repaired at another shop. Engine repairs were made without authorization so we were socked with extra repair costs unexpectedly. Used their services twice and had problems both times.

Kams Auto Service Center seem to be fair and honest or we wouldn't go there. Sometimes they are not as friendly as they should be, but they do get the work done well. They charge a fair price and always act in a professional manner.
