We are Experts servicing and installing water heaters and tankless units for residential and commercial clients - featuring AO Smith, Rheem, Rinnai and Navien products. Jeremy came out to find the reason for my shower leak that anohter plumber said would be a $660 repair. Jeremy found that the cold water handle just needed to be tightened and that was it. He also found the cause of the leak in our second bathroom which just needed silicone around the handles and drain plug and it all cost $179 and no more leaks!

After a call to Whirlpool, the whirlpool tech suggested he start by cleaning the filter underneath the water heater. The cost was a bit excessive to vacuum under my water heater. The totally time he was at my residence was 45 minutes and charged $180 to vacuum. Wont call them for anything else.

"Sorry to hear you were not totally satisfied. Unlike many plumbing companies, JMJ pays our plumbers an hourly wage - not commissions - and we charged the standard 1 hour fee plus trip charge. As stated we contacted Whirlpool and they advised the potential issue was with the venting system under the heater. We removed the screens and cleaned along the internal airways. We did vacuum the heater area and surroundings so the issue would not reoccur. Please feel free to call as we are here to make all our customers happy and keep them returning."

I felt that they were responsive, pleasant, and punctual. Perhaps I did not outline the issue I was having correctly but they charged me a really high trip charge for no work completed because the symptom I thought was the root cause was not a problem. The plumber that came was unable to determine the root cause of the smell I was attempting to resolve because he was stuffed up and unable to smell the odor in the basement. He did not search around to find any water leaking near the sewer drain and I was forced to hire another plumber to find the source of the problem. I would just caution to completely articulate the problem you are having and ensure you understand the trip charge upfront as I felt it was high in comparison to other vendors.

The plumber was at the home for about 40 minutes (he was able to get the pump to operate) and diagnosing the basement bath "dry drain" causing some odor in the area. Although JMJ Plumbing's proposal was cost competitive, I selected them because of promises made by the estimator and owner/manager regarding the piping route and methods to be used to minimize damage to shrubs and other plants in a large front garden I created over the past 18 years. Unfortunately, the senior member of a two man work crew, who was uncommunicative, a non-listener, incompetent and ignored instructions from his superiors and me, appeared to go out of his way to do the exact opposite, resulting in damage to a buried irrigation header, whose location was identified, and the need to rework the connection to the piping inside my house. He was, undoubtedly, the worst service provider I have ever encountered in my 92 years. Based of his performance, JMJ's performance would be 0. However. I give it a 3 because of the excellent response to my difficulties by the owner/manager. If they had sent the master plumber, who helped clean up the mess, they would have received a 5. I will use them again if I have plumbing work and recommend them to others, but strongly suggest screening the proposed individual or crew leader before giving a go-ahead for the work.

"I agreed with Mr. T that the plumber took a different route to run the new water service than the one originally agreed to. Our plumber adjusted his course due to the multiple tree roots he would encounter - however, he failed to communicate and listen to Mr. T. JMJ sent out a Master Plumber to inspect the work and ensure our clients satisfaction with the new service. We also credited the customer for his inconvenience. I spoke to Mr. T who stated that he would use JMJ in the future."

This is a company that got the experience, the customer service and the heart. Since my first contact with the owner, Mike, and the plumbers both Chris and Brian I was impressed by their desire to perform a quality work and go out of their way to meet my expectations. This is not to say that there were no issues, actually the opposite is true, there were machines breakdowns, and unexpected issues on the job, but they were all resolved and attended to. This is a company that made of a small number of plumbers, they are people, and they make mistakes, communications can break down at times, but to me the key is how to address the issues and resolve them in a timely manner. When one of the machine broke down, they connected the main line temporarily to get us water. During the installation of the toilet, they discovered a leak in one of the pipes and on their own fixed it (thanks Chris); they added a shut off to my house where I didn't have for many years. When I expressed a concern regarding going another day without a working sewer, they re-prioritized their projects and came the same evening and took care of that. If you are looking for a first class plumbing company and first class people, hire JNG Plumbing!
